[ Lucy's struck for what to do during her downtime. And, as much as she abhors the thought, what better way to kill time than by going to her day job? I mean, they gave her a civilian name and everything for a reason. Might as well use it to stave off boredom, right?

So throughout the week, anyone who happens to walk into a particular coffee shop will see Lucy, or Momiji Akagawa, doing her best to make complicated influencer orders or those adorable 3D latte foam animals. The key words here are "doing her best" because such artwork is a skill and skills take time to master.

Please do her a kindness and order a black coffee, a caramel macchiato, or any the sandwiches instead. ]

[ Unique. Of course. A few things come to mind, but she's still going to go for what she thinks is the easiest one. ]

Maple bacon latte, then.

Sure. That works.

( at least he won't get food poisoning or something... )

[ The latte is easy to make, as they tend to be. The only difference is that this time, she adds more foam to the top than one would expect then a drizzle of maple syrup over it. Garnishes of chopped bacon pieces, and, of course, an actual piece of bacon slotted into the drink like one might expect of a cinnamon stick. ]

[ Lucy watches him taste the latte with her face never changing. Inside, however, there's a certain type of glee she gets from watching his face twist up into the full spectrum of human emotion in the span of a second. It's all she can do not to smile. ]

It's no use getting mad at me. I didn't come up with this. [ She shrugs, eager to fall back on the excuse of being a poor corporate lackey with no choice in the matter. ] You asked for something unique.

frankly? yeah.........

( he did... indeed... ask for something unique. but the point is for it to be, you know, consumable??? and not taste like poison??? ugh...

the worst of it all: wanderer drinks... or eats... all of it. it's a blessing he can't puke, because he's certain anyone would after this. )

... Don't put bacon next time. It makes absolutely no sense for it to be there. ( he's giving advice btw... constructive criticism, or something. ) Otherwise it... could be worse. Still awful, though.

[ Lucy nods as if she's sincerely taking in his criticism. Though really, she has no plans to change the recipe up even a little. She didn't come up with the menu, so why would she be able the change it? He'll have to take that complaint to corporate. ]

Yeah, yeah. I'll pass that along. Maybe if they get your bad review, they'll take it off the shelves.

except not really, because unfortunately, until lucy makes it clear that she's... really just doing her job and not caring for whatever opinions he has on it, he'll continue. sighs. what's the point of being this weak? )

Hmmmm... ( cue the uninterested hum, that is all but real. ) How fast would they do it?

[ If she were more honest, she'd encourage him to just do what he wants. Make all the fake reviews he pleases, she'd laugh about it. ]

I guess it depends on how many complaints they get. Or a lawsuit.

Do you have something normal that's edible?

( might give a good review too, at least. )

[ With a nod, she tilts her head and turns her gaze to the ceiling in thought. ]

Maybe, an espresso. And a croissant. It's bitter, but that's what the croissant is for.

That's fine. I like bitter.

( a croissant... what is in it... that sounds like fontainian food... he thinks on it for a moment, because it sounds sweet if it's meant to counter the coffee, but... well. sighs. he's NICE... )

Sure. That works. ( kill him ) Why did you decide to work here?

[ The question is one she asks herself every day after working here. ]

I didn't pick it. Figured I'd go along with it until I felt like doing something else.

( he hums in response, nearly sound uninterested. that sounds just right, considering he hadn't quite chosen his either. )

And I'll take you haven't found something else to do, then. Why's that?

Don't feel like it yet. I'm just killing time until the feeling passes.
