But perhaps that's also the very reason why. Virtue and conviction to the point that other people would see it as naive or straight up foolishness. Like with Izuku, Yuji sees the world and things in it differently than Katsuki can. He doesn't understand it...

Yet he knows he wants to protect Yuji, support him so he can walk that path. And hopefully defy the very expectation of his execution at the end of it. Katsuki... knows he won't be there when Yuji reaches that point. So he'll have to believe somehow a bit of the "us" they have together from here will make it back to Yuji.]
