Every District in the City has Nests and Backstreets. Nests are safer and fancier, for the rich. Those born in the Backstreets are poor; sometimes they're used in games for the entertainment for the wealthy. Or they're ingredients for some fine dining.
The Outskirts are past the City borders and that's where things are abandoned: things considered "impure", children, other people. They're left to fend for themselves and more often than not, entering the City doesn't end well.
