He raises his sword over his head as he catches the kid with his other arm. He isn't exactly the biggest or strongest outside out here but he makes sure to hold them firmly in place, ready to grab them buy the collar if they make a break for it. Instead, the kid sort of just holds onto him awkwardly like he isn't sure if it's really safe at his side or not.
Luckily, they don't have to stick around for very long.)
