I am uncertain if the imugi are possessing of cold blood, though I have doubts of this given the height at which they could fly 🤷. There is a chance that this world is... ill-suited to them, to the kaiju as a whole, the adult Imugi's control of the rifts supports this.
Ghidorah was much the same 🐲🐲🐲. The Invader sought to change the world, make it more habitable for themselves and... potentially others from their planet.
It is of little matter though, they are simply monsters to the others, yes? Their lives have no import 😒.
