[Godzilla vs. Gigan, a piece of cinematography indeed. A classic film in the series, well known for establishing its debut villain as something of a coward—if not as much as Godzilla vs. Megalon did a year later. Still. Godzilla's seen it, which means he's seen that side of Gigan on the big screen.
And now this is the first time he gets to see Gigan cowed by him in real life! To his credit, Gigan doesn't flee the baths, but the intimidation is obvious in his body language in a way Godzilla will never have seen from him before: he sinks down a little lower, shoulders and arms tensing, and his red eye shifts around in its metal socket with a soft whrr, looking for a place to focus. The wall. The water's surface. The tapping claaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww
He has imagined this conversation finally happening several times at this point, but it turns out that doesn't help much, because in all of those instances he imagined himself as the one initiating it. It wasn't supposed to go this way! Finally, that's what he lands on as his first response:]
