Though he still can't help worrying that she's remaining bothered by all this, and that that might put her in danger from the kaiju if she's distracted. But he'll have faith in her, too. That she won't keep things bottled up if it's that bad. She's a smart gal, even if somewhat emotional at times. Especially when it comes to him.

He just... hates being the cause of her distress. Or the source of it, anyways, if not the direct reason. He never wants her to be upset, obviously, but knowing his existence is once again making her unhappy feels so... shitty. To put mildly.

That's why when she returns his fretting with a squeeze, he smiles at her, warm and tender. Glad that she isn't pushing him away literally and proverbially. So he swings their hands playfully, head tilted slightly to one side as he laughs heartily.]
