We're here. The fact that we are means it's possible to return. I'm not interested in hypotheticals because I'm not accepting a different future than the one I'm already set on.

He figures if there are others who don't wish to return from whence they came, then they could do as they pleased in the end. Whether they've come to love this world, got stockholm syndrome'd into thinking they do, can't go home because they died before they came here, or just feel obligated for whatever reason to help this world rebuild once their mission is done. ]
If there are more kaiju or more anything out there that aim to target this world, we won't know until we discover it. But right now, it's the kaiju, and since there is the chance that they can reach other universes outside of this one, that much is reason enough to be fine focusing on this mission.
LILITH is constantly working on advancing their technology toward their goal. I would assume that, ideally, one of their aims there is to amass more of a force against our enemy. That would require better means of reaching out to others to call forth here, as well as informing them that the threat could expand beyond just this world. Means that aren't a one-way trip nor a matter of who gets recruited being randomly selected. In that case, there'd be plenty of people willing to offer their aid. Hell, I'd consider offering more of mine.
But this isn't my world. These aren't my people and this isn't my home. So regardless of anything, I'm not staying here forever.
