Yes, I can see its value in a variety of extreme environments. They would be quite useful for the exploration of unknown planets. But I do wonder why human pilots are required for their operation.

[ Rather than AIs, as would be custom back home. No point in risking a squishy organic creature when a mechanical lifeform could handle the task easily. ]
