Sorry if the answer will be "you do you", but this seems important enough to get an approval on! But with the creature entering dreams to stop hearts, if Astarion doesn't need to sleep to rest (elves can rest using a meditative trance-like state, info on it here) and, well, he's undead and doesn't need a heartbeat to live, would he be safe to rest via trancing. (Or even sleeping considering his heart lol.)
