[ Even in the face of inevitable futility, Bakugo stands out as a hopeful flame. It helps Jinwoo shake off the despair that threatened to drag him under when he realizes another person's resolve is wavering. They can't afford to lose more people, or else they'll have no chance of getting out of here together. So he has to focus. He understands what Bakugo is trying to get at.

But before he can speak out, he makes the mistake of sparing Kim Sangshik a glance. The man is crying, the sight of which makes Jinwoo completely freeze up again. His heart is pounding so hard that it almost drowns out what the man is saying.

That won't work. People tried to get out when the doors were closed, and they were killed instantly. It's impossible to fight back, against these monsters, so if I stay here, then I...

I can't leave my family behind.

And so he makes a run for it too, without waiting for anyone else to protest. As if everyone else here doesn't have family they're desperate to get back to, as if he's the only one who deserves to survive. But Jinwoo can't say anything in retaliation, because he gets it. He knows.

With one less person, some of the statues begin to make their way towards the center. Perhaps it's slowly becoming clearer just how this glimpse of the past is meant to end.

He looks at the remaining members of the group. At Bakugo. ]

... you guys should leave, while there's still time. [ He steadies himself by the altar, bending down to reach for Kim Sangshik's sword. ] I'll stay here so that the doors remain open.

[ It seems Bakugo's attempts to resist this fate have spurred Jinwoo into action, even if it's not quite the intended outcome. ]
