[ Truthfully the only thing that puts Godzilla at ease more than Lucy's mere presence is when phsyical contact is shared between them. Even through his scales her warmth is a soothing thing to any concerns or angers that may boil within him. When that comes in the comforting motion of her petting though? Of course he's going to start making that odd rumbly purring noise in his throat, he's too relaxed not to.
So relaxed is he that he doesn't even feel the shame he thought he might when she eventually confronted him about it. Instead he answers her laugh with a soft "Heh." of his own. His eyes close as he enjoys the simple peace that the openess brings.
