Your comrade is correct. Sumerian Summer Fever is more like a curse than an illness per se. It has been described as an invitation from the Underworld itself. Therefore you are all right to treat it as such.
But why the LILITH crew is affected, yet we are not... that is a mystery, and I shall confess I do not have any especial guess. Were it a normal illness, I might bring up the matter of antibodies or other such modern concepts... but it is not a normal illness to begin with. The matter is something that thought or research might be put towards. It could be illuminating.
But I also agree it's best we all proceed to the land where my garden originated... Mesopotamia...
