( The feeling is immediate: the contact of her hand against his skin, the buzzing of serotonin in his head. How long had it been since he felt like this? The days he'd felt happy since his arrival had been few and far between. Instinctively, his arms wrap around Iri's waist, pulling her against his sturdy frame. )

( Said, lifting a hand to thread into her hair, slanting his head to rest against her shoulder, nearly wanting to cry. )
[Of course she leans into his embrace, pressing herself up against him without any hesitation, sighing happily at the familiar touch. For a moment they can just stay there, enjoying themselves.
Of course, they should probably stop just standing in the doorway.]
Shall we go inside, dear? We needn't disturb your neighbors.
( Iri's suggestion snaps him alert, nearly having lost himself in her gentle scent and feel of her skin. He's loathe to pull away, now that she was so tangible in his arms, but grasps her hand into his own as he does, lips twinging into a slight smirk. )
As you wish.
( With that, he closes the door behind him, making certain it was locked before he proceeds. Making to pick her up off the ground and into his arms, before seating her on the edge of the bed, next to where his cat had been playing. She hops into Iri's lap, presenting her with the toy mouse, its stuffing partially coming out. Obviously, she has killed it.
Kiritsugu, meanwhile, has walked over to his desk, opening up a bag of cat food to fill up her bowl. )
[The only warning she gets is that little smug grin on his face before he abruptly sweeps her off her feet, quite literally, and carries into his room. She giggles like a girl ten years her junior, grinning wide as he closes the door and carries her over to his bed, where he sets her down. There's a brief moment where she smiles fondly up at him, just happy to be here like this...
And then a small ball of fluff hops up into her lap.] Oh! Now where did you come from?
[She reaches out as the cat deposits a small, mouse-shaped toy into her lap. It's torn open, fluff spilling out, giving Irisviel an immediate urge to stitch it up, but one thing at a time. She reaches out a hand to pet the small creature, who peers up into her eyes with the casual fearlessness innate to cats.]
It took a few weeks for me to tame her. ( He tells her, setting the bag of food aside, before walking back to the bed. ) But she's been my companion here ever since.
( And soon enough, seats himself next to Iri on the bed, feeling the foam of the mattress mold underneath his weight. He then throws an arm over her shoulder, pulling Iri in close as he gazes into her eyes, brushing his lips against her forehead.
She was wild? [Actually, that makes a lot more sense than Kerry picking a pet up from a store, now that she thinks about it.
She's stroking the cat's head, realizing she should probably ask what the creature's name is, when her train of thought is abruptly set on another path. Her eyes peer up into his for a moment before he lays a kiss on her head, at which she sighs in contentment and leans into him with a soft smile.]
She was. ( He tells her, nodding. ) There's a surprising amount of strays in the area.
( He could feel it: the warmth of his heart so painfully pulsating against his chest, as Irisviel leans into his frame. It was strange to think how often they've done this (perhaps, hundreds of times at this point), how easily they fit against each other, while at the same time, needing to shush up his heart as though it was some all consuming void, that would swallow Iri whole if he weren't careful.
The cat, delighted at the prospect of her meal, leaps out of Iri's lap and onto the desk, when Kiritsugu snakes his arms around her waist. )
As am I, Iri. ( Even as he lingers on the moment, indulging in her warmth and her scent, he cannot help but feel he should say something more. To assure her he wouldn't fail her this time. ) I never want to be parted from you again.
I should have anticipated you'd pick up an unwanted creature and bring her home with you.
[It's just what she'd expect from him, really.
The white furball may be more interested in food than affection right now, but Iri can't think of anything she wants more. She moves into his hold, just letting the moment hover around the two of them for a moment as he brings her in for a proper embrace.]
As unsure as I was of this place at first, I have to thank those responsible, for reuniting us if nothing else.
( ...If only the void would swallow him whole. Her words cause his heart to falter, painfully throbbing in his chest, as his grip on her grows ever strong. Was that really how she thought of herself, even now? Perhaps that thought scared him the most. )

( Even if he hadn't fully actualized his reasons for it at the time, he always considered her worthy of life and happiness. It's difficult for him to keep up the lighthearted tone when she spoke of herself like this. He could feel tears welling up at the creases of his eyes, thinking she deserved more than what he could offer her. What the world could offer her. )
[Certainly she'd never felt that way since she'd met him. Or, since they'd started to build their relationship together, at any rate. But she's not going to pretend her grandfather ever saw her as anything but the tool he'd designed, and the same for the rest of the family.

He doesn't know how to-- or if he even wanted to tell her: about the Grail's vision, or the utter failure of his pursuit.
No, he wanted to retreat, to forget it all. Of course he did. And in an attempt to make it up to her-- broken mess that he was, he leans his head forward, only their noses touching at first, before brushing his lips against Iri's own, pulling her into a soft kiss. )
[Ah, and there it is. The pain of being here alone for a matter of months, plus the feeling of losing her just before that, all hidden behind his usual facade of cold calm. Her arms move up to hold him around the shoulders, planning to pull him in so he can let it all out.
He, however, has other ideas. And honestly, she's not going to object to a more passionate reunion for the two of them. When he brings his lips to hers, she moves one of her arms away from his shoulders to caress his face, a low hum echoing into the kiss.]
( It was always so breathtaking, so enchanting how easily they could fall into one another's arms. The way Iri's touch could melt away his pain, his heartache, his sins, as though a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
Kiritsugu's lips practically meld into Irisviel's own, as he slips his tongue past her teeth; his head feeling oddly weightless. His hands hover over her shoulders, toying with one of the straps of her dress. Though he doesn't seem too concerned with removing it, for now. Happy to bask in her warmth, her touch to guide her down against the bed and feel their bodies mold against one another's. It was strange to realize how much he needed her. Much like a fish needed water to survive. )
[It feels like he was starving for her as his lips meld into hers and his arms grip her close. A couple months apart and already he was so desperate... It is, in its own way, kind of sweet. And it isn't like she hadn't been hit over the head with relief to discover he was here with her, either.
Her hands run over him, not with any particular goal in mind beyond just touching him until she feels him go for her dress straps. They move around to his chest, then, pressing against the broad, firm body, near the buttons that held on the only thing between his skin and her touch. She didn't rush any more than he did, though, letting him lay her out of the bed, the softness cradling her. Yes, they had a lot more to do with each other, but for the moment this alone just felt wonderful.]
