A homunculus is an artificial human created by using organic matter in tandem with magecraft. They share many commonalities with humans, but are often crafted to be more durable and act as powerful containers for magic. Because of this, they are often treated as subhuman or as tools for their masters, and are not often given personalities of their own. I remember being angry after learning this. The idea that anyone would create a sentient being without giving them a sense of self is abhorrent to me.

For as much as he hated the thought, he respected her decision. One made, no doubt, to give her painfully short life some meaning. )
But, it sounds as though you have a good head on your shoulders. Humans are not monolithic. They all come from differing walks of life, and bring a wide array of experiences to the table. I wish you luck with your goals. You sound very noble at heart. Oni are merely a thing of legend in my world. But I think you have good reason to be proud.

I don't disagree. That's what happens when mages are expected to govern themselves, I'm afraid. Magus society values magical ability and strength over the individual. Children born without the gift of magecraft are often discarded and treated poorly by their families. I've always hated this. Because of that, I've devoted my life to hunting fugitive mages. If there's no recourse for their crimes against society, then I'm hardly opposed to taking matters into my own hands.

As for Itto's other comment, it's... heartwarming in a way that feels almost foreign. Kiritsugu is well aware that his harsh personality can be something of a deterrent for others. The idea he can still say something to make a kid happy is comforting. Like he hasn't totally lost his grasp on humanity. )
Oh, thanks. I think you are, too. Being rowdy isn't always bad. So long as your actions aren't harming others, I don't see why others should care, personally.
