[ that's not entirely wrong. he supposed that was one merit of being the one to cook in the group. not that he necessarily enjoyed being relied on for this specifically, but he didn't exactly mind it either. granted, this was within his group of comrades in the distant past/future. still, the prospect of easing into a similar position here wasn't entirely too bad.
despite being the one to offer it, he seems to nog along to that. actually, in all their contact, he'd say he's never explicitly encountered something she was bad at. even in the sapphire room, she was oddly composed, and her acting was relatively believable, especially compared to his exhausted acting abilities at almost every nook and turn. hence, he can't deny saying with some level of conviction that: ] You'd probably be pretty good at it with some practice.

[ despite how relaxed his words are, he's already beginning to think of potential reasons to why she would want to go with him specifically. then again, the idea of someone choosing to spend time with his explicitly is still relatively new to him. but, thankfully, that line of questioning is entirely broken when she slides the gift box towards him.

he holds it in his hands, reaching out with a closed fist as if asking her to open her hands. ] Thanks, I'll use it. Though, I can't guarantee it won't get dirty. [ but, at least it seemed durable. at the mention of his birthday his eyes seem to shift downwards before shaking it off. ]
