[ no matter where you might be -- the metro, the shrine, your actual room? you catch a movement out of the corner of your eye and a blonde teenager is taking refuge behind a door, in a karaoke booth, a supply closet, or under your actual bed, etc. the list goes on. the stupider, the better ]

[ hunter catches your eye and has the audacity to make a "shh" motion at you. wow, what is he hiding from? what's got this kid so spooked he'll take refuge under the beds of other recruits? ]

[ it must be serious.... right? ]

I believe what you think to be magic is really the work of highly advanced technology.

[ Winter reaches over to his bedside table and offers Hunter a brush. For his hair problem. ]

A whole coven of healers, though? That sounds fascinating. Most healers where I’m from are clerics, so they have ties to churches and deities.

[ hunter.... takes it, then starts brushing his hair with more force than necessary. he does not know haircare very well.... ]

... Yeah, it's one of the covens witches can sign up for. But anyone who signs up for a coven can only practice one kind of magic.... except for one. [ he rubs his wrist a little self-consciously. but he can't help but look a bit curious ]

[ Oh honey no. He gently takes Hunter by the wrist, relieving him of his brush so that Winter can start brushing his hair for him. He's much nicer about it. ]

Wizard schools are much the same, unless you care to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, I suppose.

[ As for the question, he shrugs, still brushing away. ]

As many as there are things to have deities of. There are gods of light and life and justice, of death and decay and blood. Anything and everything between.

[ but hunter sits still for the brushing, cheeks a little red. it makes sense that winter would be good at this, considering his beautiful mane. it feels nicer than he thought it would, having his hair brushed ]

And they just... co-exist?

It's not an option for most where I'm from, either.

[ There are a few times during the brushing where Winter stops to mutter a spell - a simple incantation that cleans things, basically. Hunter's getting a dry shampooing while he's here. It probably tingles a bit but doesn't hurt or anything. ]

They do. Not always peacefully, of course.

[ hunter's voice drops to an undertone, his head dipping down a little at the topic. he's otherwise been trying to be a good boy and stay very still for winter, though this topic is obviously stirring up some feelings (tm) ]

... We only have the one, really. I can't imagine so many of them just.... existing and not killing each other, or something.
