Well, we can't purify ourselves...

(The cleansing spring that would usually be running seems to have run dry. Whatever water was supplying it before must have been shut off or destroyed at the source a long time ago.)

I wonder how long this place has been abandoned. Everyone must be lonely by now.

She turns her eyes skywards too, canting her head and then letting out a soft huff. ]

[ And after casting her eyes around the shrine once more; ]

There are many gods here. Or were.

[ Gods, he says. There's a hum from Lapis, soft and curious. ]

What were these gods like? Did you ever get to meet them?

(He shakes his head,)

I never met them. Unlike the gods in heaven, I spent all of my time down on earth.

[ There's another hum, as she considers this. ]

And was it just you here? Were there other spirits like you here?

[ Lapis... sure never mentioned about him being a spirit before. ]

(Eyes watchin Lapis and then smiling to himself,)

You can tell.

(That he's a spirit, too.)

I can tell, yeah.

Though I've never sensed a spirit like you before.

What can you tell?

That you aren't a human spirit. No, you're something else...

[ She pauses, hands on her hips as she considers. ]

Not anything related to nature though, either.

(He says it lightly and one has to wonder if he means.... something not of nature or just something wrong.

He holds out his hands in front of him, palms up. At the center of it all, there is a cloud of cherry blossom petals followed by a bright, light of what feels like divine magic. When it passes... a white sword is in his hands.)
