... I know it's pathetic.
(The way he's acting. The way he is.)

It's fine. I'm not bothered by it.

The doctor said it would last a few days.
(And he mumbles,)
I wish it would hurry up.

[ A small smile, still holding the sword so gently. ]
Since you've done so well.
no subject
... Mhm.
(He nods and looks over, watching Aki hold his sword carefully. Feeling it. It feels nice.)
Always taking care of others again, I see.

[ He had to take care of Taiyo for so long, after all, with his parents, then Denji and Power. It's easy.
Familiar. Warming. Something he is good at. ]
Especially with you.

(Well now he's going to try to tap him again. It's quick but once more, he feels a jolt go through him and he frowns.)

[ Aki laughs a little, and leans a little closer, wanting to hover his face above the other man's. ]
I'll move.
no subject
Stay. It feels better with you here.
no subject
But he will manage. ]
Try to rest. I'll be here when you wake up.

Even if he can't really feel him-- even if there's no real physical touch-- he can still feel and it feels... nice. It reminds him a bit of the saniwa's touch back home, the way they'd take care of him when his condition was poor and help him rest. It feels comforting. It feels safe. And maybe Aki can see the way Tsurumaru's eyes start to droop and maybe he can hear the way his voice starts to drag with tiredness, )
Always taking care of others...
(It's teasing and he begins to drift.)

Two years of an entire lifespan. That's all that remains.
Holding the sword on his lap still, ever so gently, Aki hums softly. ]
Just the important ones.
no subject
(He parrots back lazily and his already loose grip on Aki's sleeve begins to slacken,)
Everyone... is important... t'me... (Breathing slowly,) I remember... everyone.
'specially...
(Quietly, practically sighing with his last bit of conscious strength,)
... master...
(And finally, he goes to sleep.)

The words are a prickle in his mind as he leans back and makes himself comfortable, one leg up and the other stretched out in front of him. There's new thoughts in his mind now, beyond the want to touch and tease the man beside him - something new, and different.
He's never felt this kind of jealous before. He'd been envious of the attention that Taiyo got, jealous that their parents loved him more (most), would take care of him before caring about Aki himself, but that was different. Taiyo had been sick, and Aki hadn't blamed him, not really, despite his anger and irritation. He missed them, like a void inside himself, one that had only recently begun to close.
Tsurumaru is a sword, and swords have masters. Especially master.
Being able to hold a sword is not the same as being able to weild it.
Careful fingers brush gently over the hilt of the blade, careful and delicate, not wanting to do anything that might jostle the other man awake. The more he dwells on the thought, the bigger the moster inside of him gets, as if he has any right - as if he has any place to hold this kind of irritation inside of him, when he knows his life is dedicated to Denji first and others second.
The minutes tick by, and eventually he's pushing himself up to go and sit nearer the hummingbirds, letting them flit around him, even as he doesn't let go of the blade in his hands, not wanting to let Tsurumaru feel discomfort.
They're two people spending time with one another. Who, maybe, like each other. It doesn't have to be deeper than that. That, at least, is something that Aki is accustomed to, and he can take it. He can allow it. He has so little life left, he may as well use it for whatever enjoyment he can get.
Sighing, he leans back, holding Tsurumaru in his arms, and he waits. ]
