but, quickly doing inventory of the equipment he's brought to reveal his "essentials": his trusty tent, two sleeping bags (one brand new, of Neo Tokyo make), a compact camp stove with fuel, a hydration pack, water bottles with accompanying filters, flashlights, and a selection of versatile tools and supplies—anything that might prove useful for the journey ahead. all of it, save for the one sleeping bag, fits snug in one pack. ]
The hoverboard doesn't exactly have storage space to stash anything, right? Sure, you can manage with just a backpack, but having more room is pretty convenient. That's how I used to travel, actually. There's just no point in forsaking comfort if you don't have to.
[ he's packed them some hearty soup for the evening, for instance… ]
Comparing a motorbike to a car's the same idea. Excessive if it's just you and one other person, though.

Mm. It's not like I'm fond of giving rides to other people anyway. Why do you think I even got a hoverboard in the first place?
[ well, at least on land. ships and other things like jetskis would be different. not that LILITH is going to give them either of those anytime soon.
since elysium is taking care of 95% of their equipment, ishmael will take up the 5% slack and carries one of the sleeping bags behind her back. ]
A car's convenient, but I prefer the feeling of the wind against your face when riding one of those bikes for these excursions. Makes you feel even more in touch with nature.
[ and there isn't a lot of nature in the cyberpunk jungle that is the City, either. ]

welcome to solo camping. choose what's worth its weight in gold wisely. ]
Depending on where and when you're planning to travel, a car does offer the added benefit of protection from the elements when you need it. They also tend to handle most weather conditions better than the other options. [ loose shrug; sure is nice having a pack rat. ] Pros and cons. Something to consider for sure now that we're moving into winter.
[ here's ur ecats ]

but ahab did not raise a quitter, so give her a moment to get herself up on her feet before strapping the hefty bag behind her back once more. hmph! ]
That's true... I'll have to think more on this. But I guess there's no stopping me from getting both either.
[ but she'd rather not do that, you know. that's like three times the maintenance, and she only knows how to maintain boats, for wings' sake!
anyway, time to hike. she'll just follow elysium closely from behind because OBVIOUSLY he's been here before. probably. ]
