[ Early May, a message is sent out to Outsiders inviting them to an amusement park experience without giant monsters (or corpses of them). At a much smaller fairground in the city's outskirts, Elan and Taryon have got a few rides hooked up and working, including rollercoasters, teacups, go-karts...honestly feel free to headcanon your own it's our castle now.

Most notable is the ferris wheel towering over the park. The view from the air is fantastic but the ride is not without its hitches and the power may cut out from time to time. Don't worry, your technicians are on it. Get comfortable inside and enjoy each other's company...

One half of the park remains out of order. A few rides are functional but rickety so if you are looking for a different kind of thrill by all means...Elan will tell you not to touch them if he sees you he will not be responsible for anyone's deaths!

Dinner's BYO(B) but he's brought a handful of fireworks for people to set off at night. Have at it!

A wish? How childish. [ he scoffs, even as he looks back to his own bottle rocket thoughtfully.

childish it may be, but... he never really had a chance to be childish like that. ]

[ The world owes them this much. Elan leans over his bottle rocket to think. He wants many things. An Earth without kaiju. Kryptos in his pockets. A comfortable, long life. A name of his own. Friends. Family. A past. A future. Everything. If he had to pick just one thing to wish for... ]

[ akechi looks annoyed, then... resigned.

the only thing is... what does he want? he has no idea anymore. until recently he wanted someone's head on a pike just as much as he wanted to be acknowledged by him, then he wanted to end the false reality he'd been stuck in, then...

now? what does he want? he supposes he should wish for the end of kaiju too, but that seems to be what you're "supposed" to do.

he laughs as he readies his bottle rocket, hiding a self-deprecatory look behind his bangs. ]

[ Is it childish? Maybe, but that isn't stopping Elan from crouching down and beginning the countdown. Three...two..one, and he gleefully takes his match to the fuse of the bottle rocket. Stepping back casually, hands behind his back, his eyes follow the rocket as it takes to the sky, a bright streak in the night, carrying with it his wish. The shriek it lets out sounds like a cry.

What he wants most is freedom. The rest can come later.

Elan glances sideways at the other teen knowing full well they're both past the age where they can believe in wishes. ]

If I were to say 'let's hope it'll come true!' it'd sound fake to my own ears, so I'll just say the universe better cut us a break.

[ elan is the more mature one here for doing it even if it's childish, that's for sure.

akechi can't help but crouch down as well.

when the countdown goes off he lets his loose, watching as it flies up into the night sky pensively.

[ Elan exhales. He wanted to travel Earth and look at where he is now. Stuck in a strange, monster-infested planet that makes a mockery of his desire. At least things can't get much worse from here. ]

Maybe we ought to make it happen rather than wait for it.
