[ Early May, a message is sent out to Outsiders inviting them to an amusement park experience without giant monsters (or corpses of them). At a much smaller fairground in the city's outskirts, Elan and Taryon have got a few rides hooked up and working, including rollercoasters, teacups, go-karts...honestly feel free to headcanon your own it's our castle now.

Most notable is the ferris wheel towering over the park. The view from the air is fantastic but the ride is not without its hitches and the power may cut out from time to time. Don't worry, your technicians are on it. Get comfortable inside and enjoy each other's company...

One half of the park remains out of order. A few rides are functional but rickety so if you are looking for a different kind of thrill by all means...Elan will tell you not to touch them if he sees you he will not be responsible for anyone's deaths!

SIX WEEKS?! HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU LEARNING?!

[Balance! Grip the handles! Rev the engine! How the hell can it take six weeks?! Now he's imagining Raidou looking out the window at the motorcycle on Day 1, acknowledging its existence, and then going back to his usual day, thinking it's the first step in training accomplished.

Bakugo's far too used to picking things up easily. The idea of struggling to learn something you're trying to learn confounds him. Hence beating Kirishima over the head with a rolled up book... Shitty Hair couldn't figure out math!!

Fuck.

He drives forward, catches up with Raidou, then brakes his kart by the side to watch him finish up.]

That was better.

[He gives Bakugo a flat look.]

I had never tried anything like it before it.

[His 1920s self does alright with technology here, but it's been a pretty steep learning curve. That motorcycle is no exception.

He's relieved that Bakugo didn't catch him trying to learn, as his first day was sitting on the bike and... not moving.

He slows down, eventually braking to a slightly less janky stop next to Bakugo. His response to his comment is a nod and letting out a held breath.]

Now if I only had six weeks to practice this.

What the... How long did you practice each day?

[Then again, Raidou said six weeks to get "at all" good, not just learn the basics, so guess that's more forgiving. Some people have been driving for years and are still idiots about it.

Yeah, definitely would've grouched at Raidou for the first day being that. Then again, he's also the kind of person to research something he plans to do a little bit at first, so if Raidou was reading an instruction manual or a guide book, he'd probably get a pass. That or learning to balance. Anyways, neither here nor there.]

You don't need six weeks. You already understand how motorized vehicles work from the bike. [Raidou's not looking around for the proverbial horses pulling the vehicle.] Hold onto the wheel and take your feet away from the pedals.

[Because Bakugo's hopping out of his kart, going around to the back of Raidou's, and abruptly grabbing the back end's crossbar to lift it up and turn it around on the track. That puts Raidou back on the straight for another round of uninterrupted practice. And lower.]

Try it again until you're familiar with how fast you go compared to how much you press the gas.

Varying times. When I could find it.

[It's a miracle he found any. He keeps an intentionally full schedule.

Suddenly, he's being lifted quickly and turned around. He blinks up at Bakugo, who's giving him instructions as if this was a real driving lesson. He can't help but grin a little.]

Alright. But if we're here for awhile, you're not allowed to get mad at me.

That's something you're supposed to make time for.

[It's not a flippant skill like thinking you'll pick up an ice cream maker and have a go! That's learning how to drive and then take your ass (or someone else's ass) out on a machine into traffic that could dump and crash! Thank fuck Raidou waited until he was ready enough to make a proper attempt...

THIS IS NOW A REAL DRIVING LESSON, DAMMIT!! And you're gonna pass it, Shashou!]

Try to smooth out your speed rather than jerking it. Ease your foot up the gas pedal instead of pulling off and hitting the brake.

I did. We have a lot going on, you understand.

[He doesn't get mad?! That earns Bakugo Raidou's most flat look imaginable. Yeah right, buddy. But nevermind that. Time to give this another go. He's gonna do this!]

Smooth. Right, right.

[Off he goes. It's slow, and it's jerky at first, but the further he goes the smoother it gets. He even makes a sharp turn to come back the other way, albeit at a snail's pace, but gets more speed before he gets back to where Bakugo is waiting. His stop is a little abrupt, but, progress!

He simply looks at his friend, awaiting judgement.]

Of course I know that!

[You should hear some of the denials that have come from his mouth in the past, Raidou... That flat look is getting a finger jabbed forward, indicating Raidou to-]

Face forward when you drive!

[Well, that is an important direction to face, but looking side to side and back for checks is important to. Though he figures Raidou knows this since he's been out on his motorcycle.

Then steps back when the guy drives. Bakugo scowls at the jerks, but it softens a bit with approval when Raidou's pace starts to smooth out. That's one of the things he likes about the summoner; Raidou's smart, learns quick, and listens. It's another reason he willingly submits to the guy when it comes to learning swordsmanship from him.

Once Raidou returns to the starting point, even taking that turn regardless of the slow speed, Bakugo's lips twitch in a brief half-grin of acknowledgement.]

You picked that up fast. It was a lot smoother than before.

[Raidou nods in gratitude.]

It's much simpler than the motorcycle. No clutch to worry about. No gauges or screens to check.

[It was all a bit much at first. He probably won't ever be a great driver, but he least can be a safe one. Which unfortunately won't make for very exciting races.]

Does that conclude our lesson for the day?

It's a go kart.

[Considering kids had to be able to get into it and make it go without trouble, of course it's overly simplified. Bakugo has already figured racing Raidou in these things is out of the question, so making sure he's able to comfortably drive his is the next victory point.]

Hell no! You haven't even done a full lap around the course.

[At least complete the circuit, Raidou!]

[Right! He should do that. Raidou gives him a determined nod, and gets his hands back in the steering wheel and feet back in position.]

Yes. And then I will do another after that.

[He's going to get this down! And so off he goes again, maybe a little smoother this time, but still... slow. Definitely a little too slow.]

[Bakugo at least isn't going to haul his butt back to the starting line and make him go from there. He can pick up from this place and meet him after the lap.]

Che, not even close to done.

[That's what he likes to hear. He isn't going to yell at Raidou about his speed. If the guy needs to go slow to get the hang of driving, go for it.

For now...

Bakugo pops into his own kart and takes off. Meaning he'll lap Raidou, but really, that's not like a challenge or anything. Right?]
