[ Early May, a message is sent out to Outsiders inviting them to an amusement park experience without giant monsters (or corpses of them). At a much smaller fairground in the city's outskirts, Elan and Taryon have got a few rides hooked up and working, including rollercoasters, teacups, go-karts...honestly feel free to headcanon your own it's our castle now.

Most notable is the ferris wheel towering over the park. The view from the air is fantastic but the ride is not without its hitches and the power may cut out from time to time. Don't worry, your technicians are on it. Get comfortable inside and enjoy each other's company...

One half of the park remains out of order. A few rides are functional but rickety so if you are looking for a different kind of thrill by all means...Elan will tell you not to touch them if he sees you he will not be responsible for anyone's deaths!

Dinner's BYO(B) but he's brought a handful of fireworks for people to set off at night. Have at it!

[ Can he goad him into riding everything? He will try. Don't ask why Elan can't just invite him to ride the rollercoasters like a normal person smh. ]

Do I look like I'm that much of a weakling? Of course my stomach will be fine.

[And of course, Manjoume will be defensive instead of just saying that it's not a problem like a normal person.]

Besides, have you actually been on any of these yourself, or have you just been standing around watching other people ride them?

[ Elan chuckles without answering. He's been watching the others more than he has been boarding the rides, checking that things are running smoothly and envying their uncomplicated happiness. ]

Instead of standing around talking, why don't we go for a spin!

[ He claps Manjoume on the shoulder - sorry, he's in your personal space now - and steers him towards the direction of the rides. ]

What do you want to try?

[It wouldn't be the first, nor does he doubt it'll be the last, that someone insisted on being in his personal space. At least Elan is not an Ojama...]

Well... [Manjoume glances around them a bit, before the sight of a roller coaster catches his attention, and thus he points to it. Is Elan a coaster person, or is he the type to chicken out? Time to test this out.] How do you feel about trying that one?

[ Elan looks the coaster up and down, grinning in amusement. ]

Ooh, you like the scary ones.

[ He doesn't sound bothered. There's the fun kind of scary and there's the about to be devoured by kaiju kind of scary, and this is the former. So, leading them over to it! ]

Please, only little kids think roller coasters are scary. The word you should have used was "exciting" instead.

[Whatever you say, Manjoume...]

You sure about that? Because you don't look excited.

[ What's with that grumpy expression? He hasn't seen Manjoume looking any other way. Elan ushers him up the steps of the rollercoaster and down to the end of the platform. They're going to sit in the frontmost seat, naturally. ]

[Sorry, but grumpy tends to be Manjoume's default expression, Elan.

That said, he does actually seem to loosen up just a bit once they are actually sitting in the frontmost seat. The crease around his eyebrows lessens slightly, and he examines the car and the track in front of them with a little more interest.]

How long did it take you guys to get this one running again?

[ Details! Time was no issue since he doesn't work or attend school, he has all the time on his hands to mess around, what's rough is this project setting him back all his kryptos...but that's a problem for tomorrow him. ]

What were you even doing at the theme park last time if you weren't on the rides...

[ Standing around looking grumpy, he'd guess. That needs to be fixed. ]

[Manjoume opens his mouth to answer, but then he stops; all that comes to mind is a sudden, sharp mental image of a brilliant white light.

Damnit.

As a result, he grits his teeth and shakes his head.]

I don't remember.

[ Elan would make a smart comment like 'oh, it was that unmemorable!' but Manjoume's reaction makes pause. ]

Huh? Like, literally—

[ There's a jolt as the ride starts up, taking them up slowly. ]

Finally, I was wondering what was taking so long for it to start going up...

[Manjoume is a little grateful that the ride decides to start at that moment--hopefully Elan will forget about asking for a proper answer because of it as his focus turns entirely to the ride now, hands gripping onto the railing in front of them. He hasn't been on a coaster... well, probably ever if his shoddy memories of Kaibaland are any indication, so this should be interesting...]

[ Elan would press him, but he's distracted by the rollercoaster moving. He sits back in his seat, giving Manjoume a nudge with his elbow as they rumble towards the top of the first drop. ]

Hands up!

[Initially, Manjoume elbows him right back in defiance, even considers keeping his hands right where he has them just to annoy his fellow ride-sharer... that is, until the drop actually occurs. Despite having seen the drop coming, the sudden rush of gravity and wind is enough to startle him a little with a gasp, into letting go of the bar in front of him, and thus, hands going up.

He's not the type to scream on these rides--or rather, he seems determined not to as he grits his teeth here throughout the drops, so while you won't have to hear any screeching in your ears, mission accomplished still in getting him to stop gripping the bar in front of them at least?]

[ Elan lets out a laugh when they drop, putting his own hands up to enjoy the rush of air and the thrill of being (safely) tossed this way and that. He's delighted to see in his peripheral vision Manjoume has thrown up his hands as well whether intentionally or unintentionally. Elan's already experienced the ride a couple times so there's no anxiety nor screaming, just a grin and an excited yelp here and there. When they turn the last bend and the roller coaster slows, he turns his head to Manjoume. ]

How was it?

[Manjoume's hair is a tad more flyaway than it already normally is as he brings his hands down to try to fix his bangs once it looks like the ride is ending. Manjoume has to fight the urge to smile, because that actually was fun...

But then he sees Elan grinning at him here, and he quickly looks away in embarrassment.]

It was alright.

[ Elan catches that embarrassed look before Manjoume turns away from him and his grin grows even wider. Just 'alright', huh. Coming from someone grouchy, it might as well be praise and he'll take that to mean Manjoume enjoyed himself. ]

Alright, onto the next one!
