[ Early May, a message is sent out to Outsiders inviting them to an amusement park experience without giant monsters (or corpses of them). At a much smaller fairground in the city's outskirts, Elan and Taryon have got a few rides hooked up and working, including rollercoasters, teacups, go-karts...honestly feel free to headcanon your own it's our castle now.

Most notable is the ferris wheel towering over the park. The view from the air is fantastic but the ride is not without its hitches and the power may cut out from time to time. Don't worry, your technicians are on it. Get comfortable inside and enjoy each other's company...

One half of the park remains out of order. A few rides are functional but rickety so if you are looking for a different kind of thrill by all means...Elan will tell you not to touch them if he sees you he will not be responsible for anyone's deaths!

Dinner's BYO(B) but he's brought a handful of fireworks for people to set off at night. Have at it!

[ He means it unironically. He's more worried about her getting fucked up by the gundam than the gundam getting scrapped. If they weren't being forced to fight man-eating monsters every other month he'd have scrapped it himself, but he's pragmatic enough to realize he needs it intact if he's to stand a chance.

As the simulation powers up, Elan leaves the dispatch dock to...either stand outside the simulation room or hide himself in one of the simulated buildings to watch her, it's unclear to me how it works, but let's assume he's making himself scarce.

He remains on the line with Sooyoung via implant. Not to be a total buzzkill, but... ]

[ That would make sense, but she can't help but wonder where this... aversion, to say the least, comes from.

[ Five minutes in and she hasn't crashed into any building which can be considered a huge success, really. It's tough to remain focused on piloting a mecha and holding a conversation, but she's going to try her best. ]

[ That's a lot of chitchat from someone with a mech in the sky for the first time. The movements and green coat of paint makes it look like a whole other mobile suit. It's a little comical, and the corners of his mouth twitches even if his overall expression remains exasperated.

It's not a state secret. Large companies are manufacturing mobile suits and you can attend school if you want to learn to pilot one so badly.

[ It takes her a good while to figure out how not to lose altitude which also means a break from yapping—she needs to focus. Elan still gets some of her juiciest swear words when she's struggling to fly higher, though. ]
