Is it better than underthinking?
[That's Bakugo's thoughts. His time and effort are precious and aren't to be wasted on bullshit that won't help him improve or advance in his life goals. Yelling's part of it. He's an aggressive jerk.
... How the hell could a guard on a train carrying important smart people NOT BE SPARRING?! You'd want said guard to be the strongest person in the damn room! HE'S A GUARD!! Time to see what this guy can do.]
Che! I'll fix that. [Yeah, he heard him. But he's reiterating that belief before they get started.] You don't have to call it out to fight, dammit! [So the "ever-present skill/weapon" isn't an excuse for training how to battle without it!
Bakugo could say the same thing about his Quirk, but when there are people out there with ways to nullify or deactivate a person's Quirk (his own homeroom teacher has a Quirk that can do just that) heroes who turn into vulnerable ducks as soon as their Quirk is gone are pathetic. He says the same thing about villains, so it applies to heroes as well. And people in Neo Tokyo in the same vein. He cracks his knuckles in the opposite palm.] I'll run you ragged.
[Tough guy talk. They can get to sparring after the spearmanship lessons though. Bakugo catches the polearm without a problem (reflexes are top notch) and looks down at it. He shifts his grip to the middle. Yeah, a few times as a kid he swing a pole (stick) around and pretended it was an impressive bo staff. Whatever. He shoves that aside and focuses on Dan Heng. Red eyes take in the dragon's stance for a second or two before he moves into a mirrored image.] All right.
[... he moves his hands, putting his left further back on the pole and his right slightly above dead center. There.]
