HANGAR LOG [open]
WHO: robots and YOU
WHAT: catchall sort of thing for robot pilots, robot enjoyers, and perhaps even robot haters.
WHERE: the hangar
WHEN: mumble mumble september
WARNINGS: discussions of Canon-Typical Violence, probably
LILITH's hangar is a wonderland of mechanical delights, if you're some kind of robot nerd. Beyond the base's personnel transport, fleet of camper vans and a bevy of personal vehicles, there are GIANT ROBOTS. Or...they were giant robots. Now they're considerably smaller. But still cool!!
With robots come pilots, tending to their mechs or checking out everyone else's, or maybe just chillaxing in here if they need a moment's peace. Of course, being that the hangar is open, pilots aren't the only Outsiders in here; anyone can just waltz on in and ogle whatever is here. (Tampering with the robots is ill-advised, however.)
[OOC: standard mingle log rules apply: toplevel with your characters, tag out, enjoy. mecha-canon characters and non-mecha peeps alike are more than welcome!]

He scowls. Puts his hands on his hips, exhales a sigh, trying to keep his tone even, despite the fact that he's PRETTY ANNOYED to have all these accusations suddenly thrown onto him. Just because he's ticked doesn't mean he has to act on it, or let it drive his response to the situation.]
Alright, so clearly there's been some kind of misunderstanding here; I'd love to talk this out with you big guy, but I'm gonna need you to dial the aggro back a few notches and stow the violent threats first.
[Like. You can sure TRY to rip his head off. But it won't go the way you expect, that's a gosh-darn guarantee.]

Instead the big guy ends up mirroring Daerka. His own hands going to his hips, his head turning to the side as he snorts out a plum of smoke in annoyance. ]
Are you aware of what is at the heart of this machine. [ He's still kind of growling, but at least his voice isn't raised...? ] It is an ill-tempered, destructive force. Your kind have been failing to bend it to your whims for decades now.

His scowl lessens a bit as he considers Godzilla's question.]
At the heart--?
[It takes him a second to piece everything together. Reviewing everything that was just said, connecting it back to their previous conversation... After a moment, the penny finally drops, and he looks VERY startled.]
Wait, are you... Are you talking about the nuclear engine?! [He grimaces.] Come on... I didn't know that's the kind of thing you were talking about! What was it you said, something about 'forces we don't understand'??
[He huffs and pushes a hand through his hair.]
Would you believe me if I told you I'm not exactly happy about it either?

[ You know how people will cross their arms and tap their foot when they're annoyed?
Yeah Goji's doing just that, except he's thumping his tail in place of tapping his foot. ]
Humanity has toyed with this energy to ruinous results more than once. I thought I have already seen the heights of their foolishness, but this...? You informed me this is an armor to you. You don this in combat. What occurs when you fall and the machine's core is rent open?
the tail tapping HELP why is that so cute!!!
...Damned if I know. There are plenty of fail-safes built in to keep that from happening even if the suit does go down, but... I know that doesn't really count for much.
[He sighs and sits down on the edge of the hatch, looking defeated.]
Like I said, I don't love it. My world's no stranger to the kind of devastation that weapons made from the same stuff can inflict... I'd be more than happy to go back to a status quo where those weren't a concern.
because Goji is an adorable cranky old man
I am beginning to become used to unideal answers from my allies. I am not pleased by this.
[ The big guy huffs out a sigh of his own. At least when he steps forward it's not as stomp, just a regular step as he closes the distance so he can reach out and flick his claw against the side of the mobile suit. ]
You did not mean deceit, this I can see now. Yet it does not make your machine less dangerous. Instinct roars at me to rip it open and absorb the core now, however I can not deprive a packmate of their means of battle.
[ There go his arms crossing again. This time he supports the elbow of one with his hand, the other hand going up to stroke his chin the way people do when they think. He's JUST like people. ]
A compromise, perhaps? I shall watch for signs of catastrophe when next we hunt, if the worst should come to pass I will deal with it.
no subject
...He's more intrigued by the offered solution though, because?? What??? HELLO??? He sits up a little straighter, propping himself up with one hand, one eyebrow raised.]
Sorry, back up a sec big guy-- Run that by me again? Did you say you can absorb it??
no subject
His grins come with a lot of smiling and a ton of teeth but at least there's a friendlish vibe to them...? He's nodding, so there's that! ]
Indeed. It is the same energy from the core of the earth that sustained me for millions of years. It is the same as the energy of my core. Observe and do not fear, this is not a threat.
[ Warning given Godzilla's spines start to light up and his body begins to admit a steady, building hum. The big guy does the courtesy of pointing his head away from Dearka while he does this, one does not point a loaded weapon at someone they do not intend to use it on.
After a few seconds the humming dies down and Godzilla's spines stop glowing, he turns back to face Dearka. ]
I have absorbed the energy from the large cement steam makers, as well as the bombs your kind has made with it. I am certain I can do the same with your machine's core.
no subject
Hahh, hah!? So you eat nukes for breakfast! Got it.
[Begs the question of just how the hell having a giant radioactive lizard walking around base is actually any safer than Dearka having a robot that runs on the same thing... Like, if nothing else, just in terms of ambient radiation??? That's probably a question better suited for another time, though.]
[He slumps back down a bit, smiling wryly.]
Yeah, alright. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't already little concerned about what might happen if the core did start to breach... That seems like a fair compromise, then. If my system readings start to warn me of a meltdown, you'll be the first guy I contact about it.
no subject
We are in agreement. We will shake on it, there will be no going back on our words, yes?
no subject
Is he still worried about radiation? Maybe a little. But if Godzilla is a source of it, everyone on base is probably already fucked anyway, so. What's one more handshake going to do?]
You've got my word on it, big guy.
