[It's not Raidou's expertise either, but he's doing a lot of studying. There's even a mini hydroponic garden in his room now, thanks to Dr. Ratio. Something to practice with.

He looks proud, but he can't help but shake his head a little, despite the smile.]

I've had a lot of help. Most berries are pretty easy to grow. Just need to make sure the birds don't get to them, so we need to set up some of the nets today too.

[He leans down beside Yuji to look them over.]

I can make something with them for you, if you like. A cake, maybe. Or dip them in chocolate? The daifuku I made over Christmas seemed to go over pretty well, too.

[ Yuji would be willing to learn more about it, but the idea of sitting down and actually doing the studying is something that makes his body feel itchy, wanting to be outside and doing things instead. Even knowing his home is safe doesn't necessarily settle him, either.

Leaning in, Yuji nudges him gently. ]

You can be a little proud of yourself, you know.

[ Settling back, he nods his head. ]

We should bake a cake together!

Ah... I guess I am, a little. [To have an idea and see it underway like this is pretty satisfying. Doing it alone would have been an overwhelming task, but now it's starting to all come together.

He gives the idea of baking together a strong nod.]

A shortcake. Or maybe a cheesecake? I've never made one of those. Denji-kun got me a new bakeware set for Christmas. Though, I think really it might be just as much for him as it is for me.

[That's what Raidou gets for ever baking stuff for Denji. Now he's got Raidou locked in.]

Let's do a cheesecake! That sounds like a good idea.

[ Crossing his legs under himself, Yuji looks at the berries with a small twitch of a smile. ]

I think Katsuki has had a rough time, so it'd be nice to make something for him and Denji-kun, especially if we can all do it together.

[the_fourteenth]

[Raidou sits down next to him; a quick break won't hurt before they need to start getting all that soil down. A look of concern crosses his face.]

Has he? [A hum of thought. Was it a general thing, or something more specific? Katsuki is always there to pull Raidou back on his feet, and he wants to do the same. the suggestion of them doing it all together definitely sounds good to him.]

Ah, that's a great idea. Maybe we can all teach Denji some baking, and he won't need to wait for one of us to do it first.

[ It's not like it'll take Yuji too long to do all these things, to carry the soil and do the heavy lifting, especially not now. He's stronger than he used to be, and his physical strength was already a highlight. ]

Yeah. We had a talk, before, and he seemed down.

[ It's not his place to go into too much detail. ]

I think even if we try to teach him, he'll still ask us to do it for him.

Hmm. Then we should definitely do something with him. Cake will help.

[Raidou gives Yuji a encouraging slap on the knee, then stands up. Time to get to work.]

For now, it's potatoes. That's what are going in these new spaces.

[There are several troughs under construction, all made with reclaimed materials Raidou sourced from various junk yards and second-hand shops all over Neo Tokyo. The two for the potatoes, though, are deeper than the other ones. Raidou stops to rummage in the backpack he brought, bringing out a paper bag that's ready to pop. It's stuffed with pieces of newly sprouted potatoes, and he shows one to Yuji.]

Got these from the greenhouse. Potatoes have to be be buried deep, and take a long time to grow, so... I figured, that's what we should go with next.

[eyescar]

Cake, maybe the laser tag place? He really likes it there.

[ Yuji huffs, pushing himself up without any more hesitation. No time to rest, right? Even missing a few fingers, he can still prove himself completely useful. ]

Just tell me what to do, and I'll do it.

[ Leaning into the bag, he beams. ]

Do I need to get more soil or anything?

That's a good idea. Oh, we still need to find a lake or pond that's frozen over before spring arrives, too. I owe him another skating race. This time, without innocent bystanders in the way.

[Though will being beaten by Raidou again really help?]

Ah... I think we brought enough, but there's more back in the base greenhouse if we need it. We're going to put down about eight inches of soil, plant them, then cover up with about eight to ten more. I've already marked the inside of the boxes, so it should take no time at all.

[Raidou getting those strength nanobots means he can do a lot of this himself now, but it's nice to have another set of hands. Even better when it's with Yuji. They should get it done pretty quickly.]
