@Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight
They're not in the village. The kaiju's a lupine creature the villagers can understand. Break every fucking skull you can find. No one go anywhere alone. Put your plug suits on around purple flowers.
[That's the summary he gets from all the messages.]
Dammit!
[If these villagers offered up their companions as a sacrifice for the kaiju, they're straight up villains now.]
Fuck these people! If they did this on purpose, I'm not saving their asses when the kaiju shows up! Let's get our teammates back and get the fuck out of here!
@Destiny
Agreed. It seems almost incomprehensible that these people could not know what's going on here. We should focus on rescuing the others and annihilating the kaiju, damn the village and its inhabitants.
Bakugo, can you blast the skulls from a distance? Maybe we can void being poisoned that way. If not, I say we all take a skull to smash and spread the effects between us.
@stardust
... Would Elysium agree with these...? Their family members would fight against the thought, so-- ]
even if they know
if they have no choice
them or us
can you fault them
we dont know what happens
when someone wants to stop this
fear is strong

and the option for someone you never met opened to take their place
which would you choose
[ (Because
you wouldn't care, about that person you never met. As long as your family members were safe... As long as you could stay together... What did it matter?) ]
no subject
All this is meaningless hypotheticals. They had choices. They could have warned us, asked for our help, left this land and the kaiju. Instead they chose to kidnap innocent people and act like everything is normal!
They've taken someone from me and I won't stop until I get her back, even if I have to go through every man, woman, and child to do it.

its giving up
[ (A blinding load of "crab" from you, sure, but--) ]
there might have been examples made in the past
nothing comes without effort
we dont know how long its been going on
youre not better than them
go and offer yourself up if you want her back so badly
do you think shed agree

Either way, the only issue that matters to me is getting our group back safe and sound, and from there we can eliminate the kaiju, erasing the threat these people pose. End of story.

Don't wear yourself out. ]
nonlethal for the people in your way
if you can manage

Trust me, I'll try. But the others' safety has to be our priority. They're the innocent party in all this.
no subject
okay
i agree though
about the others being our priority
but we cant go out of our way to hurt people we think had a hand in it
thats all
thank you for hearing me out
no subject
Of course I can! That's not hard to do!
There's no way these people don't know where the culprits are. They know everyone in the fucking village!
Where the hell did you get the idea the skulls were poisoned?
no subject
Yeah, even if they aren't complicit in the kidnapping, then they should've at least seen or heard something that could help us. The fact they're giving up nothing seems to imply their guilt.
It's something the others are talking about. Rift poisoning or something. Dunno much about it.
no subject
No shit. They know what's going on here. If they don't, they're brainwashed and shouldn't be in the way when this goes down.
[Meaning dragging them out of the village and forcefully evacuating them before the kaiju shows up or the Outsiders get too fucking angry. The latter more likely to happen...
Bakugo's not completely writing out the idea the villagers are also victims, but... that's REALLY NOT THE IMPLICATION HERE!!]
Fine. Break skulls at a distance and see what happens.
@sanda
[And besides...]
Plus, even if they say they did it on purpose, there's a chance that they were brainwashed into worshipping the damn kaiju and won't snap out of it until after it's been eliminated.
no subject
[It's a big "if" and he's going to wait until he sees the results, but he really doubts the villagers were able to sneak into his room and steal Denji right out of his bed. Meaning the kaiju had to have done it, and these assholes are fucking aware of it!]
They've been here for centuries! How long has the kaiju been here?
no subject
I'm just saying that we need to take into account the possibility that there's some brainwashing involved, especially when they have set up what might be a wholeass cult worshipping this kaiju as their god. The best way of knowing for sure would likely be to kill the kaiju, and then see how the villagers react after.
no subject
If they're that damn enthralled by it, these idiots could become our enemies to protect the damn thing.
[Something someone else brought up, though Manjoume's right in the post-battle part being a good proving ground for what's really going on here.]
I doubt it's completely brainwashing.
no subject
Well you know what, if after all this the townspeople go "surprise, not only were we not brainwashed but we knew it was a kaiju the whole time and now we're pissed that we can't sacrifice people to it anymore", then you get to be the first to say "I told you so" to me.
no subject
Hilarious.
What are you gonna do if they turn on us?
no subject

No one's raiding their stupid houses or knocking their heads in!
[yet...]
