▶ 001. WELL DESERVED REST.

With no sign of upcoming city-level threats, LILITH has made the decision to provide Outsiders with a well-deserved break: there will be no official missions for the month of December. Outsiders are free to roam the city, continue their usual civilian jobs or take a holiday to any of the locations available via data portal. During this period, LILITH leadership will also be taking time off and any attempts to contact them will be met with an ‘out of office’ return email unless it is an emergency. (Dr. Spim is still around, but … he is a cat and doesn’t answer anyway... unless he feels like it.)

That isn’t to say it’s going to be a completely quiet month, of course. Our players have kindly prepared several player plots that anyone is welcome to join. Please refer to the top level here for links to the relevant plots. An updated quest has also been listed here.

Additionally, the Outsiders Program has successfully finished its first year! LILITH will be giving all Outsiders old and new a thank you bonus of 500,000 KRYPTOS (approximately 3230 USD) to spend freely on their holiday. Try not to spend it all on pachinko!

▶ 002. LET IT SNOW.

Starting December 1st, the temperature in Neo Tokyo will take a dive as the country enters into winter. The first signs of snowfall will occur on December 1st, and as it continues, the city will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The shops and restaurants of Neo Tokyo are capitalizing on the approaching festivities, putting up Christmas lights, Christmas trees and decorations. Many stores are having sales on warm clothing and popular gifts. Isn’t it the perfect time to find some nice gifts for your friends?

While only a suggestion, it is encouraged to support the integration of the orphans from Transylvania by taking them out on a winter adventure.

Winter activities found in Neo Tokyo include:

- Christmas Winter Illuminations. Certain parts of the city will be lit up in Christmas lights and holographic, winter-themed illuminations. Stop by at the right time and there might even be a drone show to watch.
- Ice sculpture building. Artists have gathered in Yoyogi Park to showcase their latest ice sculpture creations. Outsiders may view the attraction or join in on the ice sculpture contest. Winners will get prize money.
- Ice-skating. The Yokohama Red Brick Ice Rink is open again and characters are free to go skating with their friends. As a part of its latest attraction, the ice has been fitted with microscopic nanobots that light up when touched, causing the ice to glow or showcase striking colors as people skate across it.
- Playing in the snow. Even under threat of kaiju, the people of Neo Tokyo take the time to have fun when they can. Through the streets, there are people making snow angels or pelting each other with snowballs.

Characters may visit Las Vegas, Kyoto or Okinawa using the data portals. Kyoto and Okinawa continue to be uninhabited, but they can camp there if they wish. They are free to book a hotel and enjoy their holiday in Las Vegas too, where the city will have its own brand of winter activities (winter illuminations, Christmas shows, ice-skating and holiday-themed Vegas shows). While the weather is still cold, it will be snowing in Kyoto but not in Okinawa or Las Vegas.

▶ 003. SNUGGLE UP.

All the lights and festivities happening in the city are putting some strain on the power grid, and this leads to occasional bouts of power failure during the month of December. These seem to be happening in the base and throughout the city of Neo Tokyo, and they last for a few hours each time. With hospital equipment running on back-up generators, it isn’t a huge cause for concern, but it certainly is an annoyance; especially with the weather so cold.

LILITH robots will be offering Outsiders on the base extra blankets (traditional and emergency foil blankets) along with heat packs to get through the cold. Starting a fire within the base will not be allowed since it is a hazard, so those who still need the extra warmth will need to find other creative ways to obtain it. A snuggle never hurt anyone, right? There is one operational fireplace in the Library, and Outsiders may notice an influx of small tables throughout the base with self-serve hot beverages on battery operated kettles, such as tea, hot cocoa & artificial coffee. As Outsiders congregate around the base, snuggled up in their new festive blankets, perhaps now would be a good time for some classic party games such as Never Have I Ever and Two Truths and a Lie.

▶ 004. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE.

Dr. Spim takes regular cat naps anyway, so he doesn’t see the need to take a holiday. As a result, he has continued to work tirelessly on finetuning the cure for the vampiric disease. Throughout the month, he will make several requests for volunteers (those with and without the vampiric disease) to participate in the ongoing clinical trials.

The serum he is testing will not cause harm to the body, but it might result in any of the following side effects:

- Dizziness, fatigue and difficulty coordinating movement.
- Fever, chills and a desperate need for warmth.
- Mood changes, which can present as euphoric or depressed or both.
- Hallucinations or delusions.
- Increased hunger, thirst or other physical needs (interpret as you wish.)
- A ravenous need for blood (for vampires.)

Certain volunteers may encounter no side effects at all, while some may experience all of them. Luck of the draw, really. The side effects are not permanent and last for a few hours. As always, Dr. Spim will explain the possible side effects and get consent before administering the medicine.

By the end of the month, a stable cure will be finalized and LILITH robots will deliver it to all those affected by the vampiric disease (if your character was already a vampire, don't worry about it). It is highly encouraged to take the medicine! Dr. Spim has no time to chase down the people refusing to take their medicine, so he might pay some of their friends to do it for him. He is a cat. He has better things to do (such as knock this beaker off the table….)

As an OOC note, please do not let your character remain a vampire unless they are already a vampiric character. The vampire event in Transylvania was meant to only have temporary effect.

▶ 005. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our third team building event! All tags on this log are worth 2 points and will count towards December AC.

We have a lot of player plots this month, and are using this log to encourage players to participate in the player plots since the event itself is light. As a reminder, the mod team will be taking a break during the month of December and will not be answering any questions at this time.

EVENT BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)

1. WELL DESERVED REST: Outsiders enjoy a quiet month with no kaiju attacks, but are provided plenty of things to do (via player plots) and they are welcome to use the data portal to travel to Okinawa and Las Vegas at this time.

2. LET IT SNOW: Heavy snowfall turns Neo Tokyo into a winter wonderland with many snow related activities to participate in such as ice skating, ice sculpture making, etc. LILITH encourages the Outsiders to allow the misplaced orphans to participate in some of these activities.

3. SNUGGLE UP: The power outages strike again, this time from too many festive lights that overheat the generators. LILITH provides Outsiders with emergency blankets and hot beverages during times of outages.

4. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE: Dr. Spim trial runs an antidote for the vampiric disease that struck Outsiders during their mission in Brasov. He takes volunteers who are both vampires and not. Finally, a cure is made, and all Outsiders are asked to take it (please do not let your character remain a vampire unless they are already a vampiric character.)

[Bring it up and he'll make sure Yato doesn't survive. It'll be hospice rather than recovery! Bakugo'll gruffly say it's only because he doesn't need Yato being a weak sickie in case something happens soon that needs his powers. That's all.]

Tch, I know how to take care of myself, Bakami. [Boredom is peaceful, but Bakugo doesn't like wasting time even in peace. He'll use it for something, whether that's reading or catching up on some deserved rest from being busy all the time. Then get pissed off when someone inevitably interrupts him from doing so...]

Or they want soldiers for once we're back home. [Granted the Outsiders were not in the right mindset to fight against LILITH at the moment. Some of them were hellbent on revenge, a third of them were almost dead, physically mangled, or mentally crushed, and the rest of them were split between protecting the injured or trying to stop the vengeful, to say nothing of their own stress over the disappearances previously. All of them wanted to gather their shit and get the hell out of there. Weird children being loaded aboard were the least of their concerns, if they even noticed.

Now, however... So long as they don't saddle Bakugo with babysitting duty, he's stopped caring.]

[He says real smug like, flipping a hand in the water with a taunting cavalier tone. So proud of Denji. Not that Denji much cares if someone peeks at him. He cares way more if someone peeks at Bakugo. It's... a weird unbalance.]

[Thankfully Yato knows full well not to push his luck in that department. One day he'll get him to admit they're more that just teammates, but that day has yet to come. All he wants for Christmas is Bakugo's friend~ship~𝅘𝅥𝅮 Prolly asking too much there, too, alas. ONE DAY, DAMMIT. He will bully him into submission with kindness and friendliness.]

I know you do. Doesn't hurt to have someone looking out for you, too, though. [Just in case. Especially when you're a go-getter like he is. At least Yato is (generally) respectful of Bakugo's downtime, not pestering him TOO much for unnecessary things.]

...ugh. Let's hope that's not the case. It's already depressing to think about. [It's tough to try balancing everything they're supposed to do - fighting kaiju, protecting citizens, living their own lives - with that of the effects of their missions, like catching kaiju or rounding up children to bring back. Surely had they not been so worn down mentally and physically, there would've been more protests. Maybe that's why LILITH made the decision to take the kids when they did. It's hard to say. The least they could do now that they're here is take care of them, dammit!]

T-That I'd believe. Let's hope it doesn't come to that, though? This is the money-maker, here!

[He puts up both hands defensively, offering a sheepish, if decidedly nervous grin. One of these days he's really going to have to get to know Denji, just out of curiosity. To see what kind of person it is Bakugo goes for.]

[He's got his work cut out for him. Getting Bakugo to admit that out loud is going to be a lot of work, even if the bristly guy knows the truth on the inside. Yato's not just some acquaintance anymore. But rather someone he trusts and will pair off with more than others if given the choice. He's gonna have to settle with actions over words in this one. Sheesh.]

I don't need someone watching over me! I'm fine on my own. [Yato should know by now the growling is instinctive and ready, even though he's been permitted to team up with the blonde multiple times to do that very looking out for him. But that's during battle. Doesn't need hovering while he's on his own.]

Hmph. When we go home, there won't be anymore damn kaiju to fight. [That's the entire reason they were brought here; to save this world and the people within it. Meaning no more threats coming in the future. He won't ever agree with LILITH's decision to take the kids. Not unless they return to Romania one day and see everyone else there dead and the place in ruins from something they couldn't avoid. Not something he wants to think about either. It's not like LILITH is taking care of the kids either; they dumped all of them into Wolfwood's orphanage and then tasked the Outsiders with caring for them! How the fuck is that responsible?! At least the Imugi eggs required nothing more than warmth and occasional check ins.]

Che. No one gives you five yen to stand there and look pretty. [His arms and his legs, his body and power, are what makes the god his money. After all, back home, no one could see him! HA HA HA!! Not his money maker. Why is Bakugo always so petty around Yato? Who knows. Maybe the god's rubbing off on him. Poorly.]

Good thing Yato relishes a challenge! And is a glutton for punishment, since that's highly likely, too. He doesn't expect Bakugo to come right out and admit they're friends or buddies or anything, but a little acknowledgement that they're good partners would be nice. If just so he knows he's on the right track. Positive reinforcement and all that.]

Mmm. Alright then. I'll keep that in mind. [And still watch over him, because that's what gods (and friends) do. Not hover like a helicopter parent or anything, but just check in on the guy now and then. See if he needs anything. If Bakugo ever talks to Hiyori, he'll learn that's mercifully lenient of the god.]

Ah, good point. Unless we're among those who leave early. I know that's a thing now. [Like Wolfwood. Here one month, gone the next. It... sucks, honestly. They really could use people like him, both to help with the kaiju and the kids. It's actually a bit depressing on all fronts, from the kids' situation to the prospect of the Imugi turning on them and needing to be killed, to their efforts at saving people going so awry lately.. They definitely need this downtime to have fun and relax.]

Actually, I was a sandwich board guy for a week or so, and I bet my face drew in more customers than the sign itself! [Is he joking or being serious? It's so hard to tell. Just remember that petty is as petty does, Bakugo!]

[The fact he works with Yato without bitching about a trade (still yells at him to walk faster, move aside, hit harder, you know those sort of encouragingly rude things) and continues to interact with the god sans reluctance SHOULD BE ALL THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT HE NEEDS, DAMMIT!! Unfortunately, Bakugo's still learning words work too when it comes to communicating what he thinks or feels. Softer thoughts or feelings, that is. Rather than expecting people to know his opinions by reading body language.]

Hmph. You haven't already? Dork. [This better not be the first time he's decided to stick it in his brain back burner. Getting clocked in the head by a dragon and coming back to consciousness safe in Yato's arm from a hit-the-ground-and-splatter height really showed him what the god was capable of. It's one reason he trusts the guy as much as he does.]

Yeah. [Like Midoriya. A week at first, then gone, only to return for a month or two, then vanish again. Bakugo hates the cycling, but he counters it with accepting each of those people have gone back home. Where they belong. Those who return to pain or death, however, he's come to silently wish they stayed. But it's outside his control, so linking emotions to such a thing is only asking for emotional baggage he doesn't need. Others, obviously, don't share the same mindset.]

People aren't gonna eat your stupid face. [Who ever picked something to eat because "that guy's cute; i bet the food there's goo" reasons?! If they did, they deserved to get something shitty for their moronic blind trust. Then again, he's aware most people aren't going to happily court a monster's suggestions. Depending on what the monster's suggesting. Yato likely drew at least some customers because he has a trustworthy face. Most of the time.]

[One would think, but if there was ever a needy god, it's Yato. Being deprived of proper affection and praise for so long means he's a sucker for it still, plus he likes the encouragement from others that he's wanted. Overgrown kid. Maybe they can teach each other a little something the more they work together more. It'll be healthy growth for them both!]

Ehehe... Don't deny that. [The dork part, that is. He's very good at being a dumbass dorkwad. But hey, at least he's not badgering Bakugo about it, instead accepting him at his word. That's something anyway. Though actually hearing that his not-friend trusts him would do wonders to soothe his neediness.

But he knows Bakugo is dealing with his own problems and struggles, hence why he tries not to burden the kid with his own. He's figured out by now that Bakugo has had friends here who've left, and by piecing together what all he's said, he knows it's to go back to a war where there's no guarantee of winning. It's not too unlike his own situation, though his battle with his dad is more one-on-one. Still a scary thing all said.]

Heh, you never know! Maybe I could make cookies of myself just to prove you wrong. [He's half joking, half serious about that idea. He knows that he's taken in by people's honest-seeming faces a lot. ...it's how he gets duped into buying useless charms and trinkets that promise prosperity so often. Some folks just radiate trustworthiness! He can't help it!] Or-- how about I make cookies of you? They could have those little pop rock candies in them for a bursting sensation!

[Oh heavens help them. He's coming up with a new business venture again...]

[As if Bakugo's going to admit Yato taught him anything! His backstory has nothing tragic or sorrowful, raised with affection and praise for all of his childhood. Too much affection and praise for that matter, considering his natural genius and talent for anything he tried earned him such revere. Look at his ego and attitude now. Sheesh. Granted a year of experience at U.A. really humbled him, but it certainly didn't stop his atrocious personality.]

Hmph. [Bakugo rolls his eyes when Yato basically confirms his commentary. Good thing he's not getting hounded over it, or he might have blasted the god in the face over it. Left him smoking in some trashcan somewhere. Granted, he's horrible at using his words, rather figuring Yato should understand Bakugo's willingness to work with him means he trusts him.

He's... learning that. Slowly.]

Who the hell's gonna eat cookies of you?! [Despite the obvious holiday advent providing the perfect time and place for Yato to make said cookies. Gingerbread god cookies! He's gonna have to hire someone to make them, unless the guy's able enough in the kitchen to create something so passable. Honestly, Yato. Take Bakugo shopping with you and you won't get swindled once. Probably get a lot of shopper yelled at for trying it though.]

Don't you fucking dare. [THAT SAID... pop rock candies to make bursting cookies sounds pretty damn cool.] Make normal cookies if you're gonna try the damn pop rocks!

[Maybe one day he'll be able to impart some kind of knowledge upon the hero, give him a life lesson in the workings of people or something. Perhaps even help him poke a hole in that massive ego to deflate it somewhat so it reaches a more manageable size... Thank goodness Bakugo isn't as bad as he used to be, otherwise Yato might've wanted to smack him, heh.]

Tch! [That remark has Yato sniff indignantly as he lifts his nose into the air.] I bet plenty of people would be fine eating cookies of me, so there! [Surprisingly he's not TOO bad in the kitchen for what a disaster he is most of the time. He'd certainly excel at the decorating part, given he has an artistic streak. Bakugo probably could teach him a thing or two about watching out for scams though, even if it does involve a lot of yelling...]

Spoilsport... [No fun at all! ...okay, somewhat fun, just not regarding being an artistic inspiration, it seems. He can handle that, then.] I will, in that case! And you're gonna be my taste-tester!
