[Rounding up some sick, aggressive cats shouldn’t be that hard. The biggest challenge for Akagi and her partner might be finding the feral felines. Then again, if the cats are as violent and territorial as their description has led Akagi to believe, it shouldn't be too difficult. Just follow the sounds of screams and people running away from cats! She’s also capable of finding them by other means.

The real problem, she figured, is in actually capturing the cats without harming them.]

I can launch a scout and give us some eyes in the sky, so to speak.

[It would undoubtedly beat just running around or wandering about and listening out for shouts of people being harassed by said felines over their food. Though, they could always do that as well! In Akagi's opinion, it would be the more troublesome route to take, especially when Akagi is still getting used to the layout of this new Tokyo that she’s found herself in.]

Which Way Is Up?

[Oh, but getting lost in these winding, dark tunnels is extremely easy. They are difficult to navigate, ruined, intermittently powered here and there, desolate malls, destroyed exits and staircases that lead to nowhere, and so on. Indeed, it is not precisely where a person would want to be on their own or without prior knowledge of the tunnel's layout or a reliable map.

And now? In those dark tunnels, flickering lights could be visible, slowly and gradually drawing closer. There’s no sign of footfalls; if there are, they are very faint—very light. Occasionally, the view of the lights is blocked out by something, a figure of some sort, potentially large and blob-like. However, it isn’t easy to determine exactly what it is, only that it’s continuing to move towards you without pause. Drawing-

Which Way Is Up?

[ Being someone who's used to navigating the darkest parts of the ocean and earth, Godzilla decided lending a hand with the efforts in the underground was a natural fit for him. Something to do to get out of the base that isn't his job, help out the civil denizens, and earn a little extra money too which is always good. For food, which is about all he ever buys...

Anyway he's been quite enjoying his little excursion so far! He's stumbled on a few people here and there and set them safely on the track back out of the tunnels, and he's making decent progress mapping this particular area. It's actually quite rewarding to see the unknown spots fill in on his ocular whilst he works.

But now there's this situation. Something is approaching. Fast. Even with his vision Godzilla can't quite make out what's coming his way, only that it's large enough that it may be dangerous and certainly has no intention of stopping.

With an annoyed snort he tosses his ponytail so it falls neatly behind him and draws his weapons. There's no way of knowing what's down here other than civil denizens, so he's armed as a "normal" human might be. From one hip he draws his odachi into his left hand, the blade well made yet simple in appearance. The other hip he draws out his large revolver from its holster, leveling it calmly towards the oncoming Thing and cocking back the hammer with a click that echoes throughout the tunnel. ]

It would be a decision of wisdom to cease your approach, if you are indeed a being capable of reason. I shall not hesitate to engage in battle if I am forced.

[In the meantime the said figure continues its walk towards him, the two fluffy ears on her head twitching at the sound coming her way. Ugh, this was supposed to be an easy job. Get in, map the tunnels, drag anyone she might come across out, get paid, job done. Now she has a gun being drawn her way?

Rude.

Akagi has half a mind to light the firearm up in the person's hand. Maybe the exploding ammunition caused by the heat from her foxfire will make them think twice; they've already confirmed that they can't quite see her in the pitch black of the tunnel anyway. It also isn't like anyone would be able to know what happened--

Oh, no she recognizes that voice. Hang on, without missing a beat, her own voice calls out in return.]

Yes, yes, you're very threatening! But just so you know, it's incredibly rude, and horrible, to point your small pistol at a lady~.

[Soon, a pair of red eyes began to faintly shine through the darkness as Akagi draws closer.]

[ Hearing the voice out in the dark sparks instant recognition and reaction from Godzilla. The hammer of the revolver is put back into place, the weapon slid back down into its holster. ]

Ah. KAN-SEN Akagi. I shall need to make offering of apologies, I was unaware an ally was who approached.

[ He's not in the least offended at the "small pistol" remark. Actually innuendo kind of goes over his head so he's more confused than anything? The firearm is quite large (.500 mag. No such thing as overkill when kaiju fighting), perhaps the canid woman's senses have been thrown off by the dark?

Oh well, it's just Akagi, she's no threat to people on her side. Once the gun's secure he's sheathing his sword as well, nodding politely towards Akagi as he does so. ]

You have put yourself to the task of exploration of the underground as well, yes?

[That's Empress Akagi-sama to you, sir! Hmph, but she'll let your slipup go just this once...]

That's alright, it's incredibly dark in some areas.

[She becomes much more visible soon enough. There's a series of fireballs sticking to the wall next to her, a trail of breadcrumbs to help her know where she had been previously while also lighting a clear path to an exit.

It would make things much easier in case she came across anyone in the tunnels. No need to escort them back personally when they can simply follow the trail and signs that Akagi had left! It certainly helps that one of the few dangers in the tunnel is simply environmental.

Or other people.]

But yes, I got a little tired of sitting around and not doing anything. I figured it would be a good way to explore and keep myself busy.

[And recoup any losses she might have had over the New Years.]

I'm guessing that you're doing the same.

[ He is never calling her that. ]

Indeed. I have been spending overtly much time in the lair as of late for... necessary reasons. [ Reasons that have him glancing away and absently brushing some errant locks of hair away from his face. January's been a rough start! ]

However my presence is not required as much, leaving my time freed. It was my thought that my own eyesight would prove of use in this specific task.

[ He tilts his head as he finally considers the little balls of fire Akagi has been leaving in her wake. An amused chuckle rumbles up in his throat. ]

Your own ability would appear even more well suited. If LILITH permitted free reign of our power one imagines you would be capable of this task on your lone effort.

[One day... one day... she will get him to call her that.]

If your eyes are able to see in low light or no light, certainly that would be helpful.

[She's still been attempting to take tallies on what everyone is capable of here. Too many things to learn and be caught up on, and increasingly less time to be caught up. Made all the more evident following the recent alarm.]

Oh, but you think so? Hm, yes, I could more easily explore and map out these tunnels on my own.

[Or if she really felt more of a rush to do so. Akagi could probably have mapped out a fair amount of the underground system in a day.]

I still could, "permission" or not. But there isn't much of an emergency or current need to rush things along as far as I can tell.

[ Whatever she needs to tell herself to sleep at night... ]

Heh. Light has not been a constant companion in my life, no. I oft travel the deepest reaches and under the earth itself during the execution of my duty as King. I am as homed in the darkest ocean as I am the brightest deserts.

[ There is no shortage of sheer pride in his voice there. He even puffs his chest out a little, the massive ham. ]

Ah. An advisement, a warning. LILITH ill-likes when Outsiders put our existence at risk of discovery. This and lethal fighting between the packs are their largest concern in our behavior.

[ He taps a spot behind his left ear where the implant was installed in him. ]

The mind devices are capable of rendering us incapacitated and locking our true strength. I have seen it employed readily in the case of Outsiders intending harm on another, one would safely assume they would do the same should we use our powers without approval.

Is that so? You'll have to tell me about it sometime!

[Maybe while they're walking down this long and dark tunnel system!? Not like they have much else to do besides to map and scare directe anyone lost.]

Then they wouldn't have brought us here to begin with. If they're as desperate as everyone is saying, then they shouldn't complain about how a job is done. So long as it is done~.

[And she is very good at getting things done~. But that is still a very important bit of information that he just gave her. And one that Akagi will lock away for later uses~. Far more useful than what most people have told her so far.]

Oh, but don't worry, even if you worrying over me is cute. I won't do anything to any of our allies. Even if there's a threat hanging over my head. It wouldn't do to limit anyone's fighting strength.

[ He's such an amiable guy! Mostly. He's shooting her a sidelong glance at her other comments though. Of all the Outsiders Godzilla has met, Akagi might be the most... well, hard to pin down. Is she joking or dead serious? ]

Hmm, I would be in agreement. However humanity as a whole possesses tendency to fear and hate that which is different or more powerful than themselves. It is my understanding that the Outsiders' presence in this world is... not overtly one of a legality. Thus LILITH's insistence on secrecy.

[ He snorts in contempt, smoke trailing out of his nostrils. ]

It is vexing. This earth lies near ruined, the lairs of humans reduced to paltry numbers, yet their worst tendencies would still see them wiped out in the face of Invaders rather than accept that which they do not understand. They are quite adept at severing one's snout in hatred of their faces, yes?

[ Cutting their nose's off to spite their face...? Probably. ]

These biases extend even to some of the packs. Most are human, many disdain myself and Gigan for our similarity to the Kaiju. It is my thought they would rally discontent should more of my Titans be called for the duty.

[ Another bellowing noise, this one more of a sigh as he rests one hand on his hip and waves the other dismissively. ]

Bah, I have taken to a ramble. My apologies, you have not entered into these tunnels in order for your ears to be worn away by my words.

[ Chew... your ear off..? ]

It wouldn't be a bad idea, especially if we're supposed to be working together.

[At the very least, that's what she's been attempting to do since first arriving. Learn more about the people around her, at least enough to recognize a few faces.]

Then they're all fools and should be ignored. [No need to waste time or energy on people who aren't going to be doing much to help in her opinion. Likewise, she also doesn't really buy into the whole fear and legality issues. There's more bothersome things out there at the moment, it's better to...

...no, her thoughts won't go there~. Those thoughts are what got her friends hurt and Kaga... Akagi won't let those thoughts flourish again.

Oh, you're fine. Ramble away and talk for the both of us if you want. It makes things go faster and be more enjoyable.

I am not in full disagreement, however it is best not to put task to LILITH over their restrictions. They are able to lock away our natures, rendering us little more than human in ability. It is... unpleasant to experience.

[ Coming upon a part of the tunnel that's semi-blocked by rubble, Godzilla proceeds to climb up it with little effort. It's a good four foot up, so the helpful guy that he is he kneels down to offer Akagi a hand up. ]

Ah but the past, where does one set to the beginning of such? The start of it all I would think, yes? My nestmates and I hatched in what I now know to be the island humans call Madagascar. Our time was spent resting, eating the prey our dame brought us, and learning how to battle through our sibling contests. They were... easier times. There was little worry to be had whilst Mother was still watching over us.

[ He sighs, almost melancholic, and shakes his head. ]

Bah, that matters little to the task at hand. Like all of my kind I learned to hunt the deep once I was a fledgling. Many species make their home in the safety of the abyssal dark, yet my eyes are able to see them as clearly as I see you now. It was a good place for a young one to gain skill in hunting, very little possessed the capacity to pose threat to us.

[Akagi could hop up herself without any problem but still takes the offered help. Why shirk of a helping hand?]

Oh? You were born on Madagascar?

[At least it's a familiar name and location that she can mentally picture and place on a map! Even if it's going to inevitably be different from the one that he's talking about.

She pops a ball of fox fire on top of the rubble they climbed onto.]

The deep though? As in the ocean?

Indeed, long before it held that name. Humanity's ancestors still made their refuge in the trees in those days.

The big guy leaps down from the rubble, pausing to scratch at a spot behind his left ear, before turning to offer Akagi a hand down. ]

The ocean. [ He confirms with a nod. ] I am King and Protector in my world of origin, there is no spot on the earth which I am unable to habitat. Though I confess a preference for the region humans deem the Pacific. The waters there are neither too chill nor warm.
