( ooc | a general catchall for both open and closed logs below! if we've made plans, don't hesitate to slide a starter in under the respective headers. otherwise, you can reach me at |
@cosmarchy, bunkerβ
for now, he has come to the underground bunker to stake a claim to a room. he doesn't particularly care who he rooms with, so he picks the first one he finds with an unoccupied futon. since he didn't pack for the mission, aodh lacks any bag to lay his claim, only having whatever effects are on him. he is in the midst of stripping off his jacket and dumping it onto the tatami mat, when another being soon enters.
sharp red eyes shift towards the new presence, recognition flaming intrigue at the sight of who it is. they had only exchanged words on an app a while back, yet their conversation remains vivid within his memory β the one who has someone back home. ]
Have you eaten yet?
no subject
He opens the sliding door quietly, but looks up as soon as a voice calls out to him. Blinking, he stares at the other man before recognizing who he is. ]
... I haven't, yet. Why? Are you offering to make something?
[ He is (mostly) joking. ]
no subject
[ it sounds less like a suggestion and more like a command, but work with him here
or don't. ]no subject
[ Even if it comes across as a command, it seems like Jinwoo doesn't mind it all that much since he's already turning back to the door. One can't say no to free food. ]
Do you already have a place in mind?
[ He hasn't checked out the marketplace at all. ]
no subject
[ technically, he doesn't need to eat, but if he's going to, then it needs to be meats. none of that vegetation crap. ]
Tell me your name. [ wouldn't it be faster if they just portaled there? he is going to open one up. ] Through here. Lest you are afraid.
no subject
[ Don't mind him. He's a little distracted by the portal, one that he's not all that bothered to use. He'll wait until Aodh follows suit before saying something. ]
So you can open portals too. That's convenient.
no subject
[ it's perfectly harmless, if only a bit nauseating for those who've never experienced it before. the portal itself is pitch black and remains so, until they reach the other side β the marketplace with its gritty restaurants and glaring neon signs. ]
Do you remember mine name? [ or will he have to introduce himself? ]
no subject
[ Especially when they worry about getting spliced in half. A ridiculous notion, but he supposes he can see where the concern is coming from.
His eyes look over the array of neon signs, ss if searching for something, before he turns back to the other man. ]
Aodh, right? Unless the AI made that one up.
no subject
It is mine name. The AI had no hand in it.
[ closing the portal behind them, aodh gestures at the various shops around them. ]
Do any of these restaurants meet your taste?
no subject
You said you wanted meat, right?
[ Because grilled pork belly sounds good right about now. ]
no subject
We shall eat there then. Order whatever you want.
[ he is more interested in getting to know him than what meats they're going to eat. ]
I am curious about one thing. [ he leans far to the side, sharp red hues regarding him with mild intrigue. ] What are you?
no subject
He'll let Aodh take his pick while he thinks about his question. ]
What am I in what sense? I'm— [ human, he was about to say, but he quickly fixes that: ] ... not human, if that's what you mean.
no subject
If you were human, [ he sounds so perfectly deadpan, as he pays for the order. ] then I wouldn't have needed to ask.
no subject
[ It's the plain and simple truth. He was whisked away here before he could fully process what happened to him, after coming back from the clutches of death. ]
They call me a Monarch. An astral being, I guess.
no subject
There is nothing wrong with not knowing what you are. I do not possess real knowledge of what I am either. [ an astral being though β he has met his fair share, but he has never heard of one called a monarch. the multiverse is vast, however; so it's inevitable that variations exist. ]
Is this your true form then?
no subject
[ Then again, now that he thinks about it— he's changed drastically since becoming a Player of the System. Even his own sister couldn't recognize him for a while after he started becoming stronger. ]
Or rather, this is how I look now. Even the heart that beats inside me is no longer mine. I don't get how it works.
[ So he doesn't really know. ]
no subject
[ it's what it sounds like to him, anyway. ]
no subject
[ And they had an imugi to prepare for, so there just hadn't been any time to worry about all that. ]
It just didn't seem that important.
no subject
[ taking a seat, he lowers the tray onto the tabletop. ]
Eventually, you will acclimate to your new form and it shall speak to you.
no subject
I don't think it matters. It's not like I can go back even if I'm unhappy with how I am now.
[ Which... he isn't. But maybe that's what makes it strange, that he easily accepts how things are now just as he's done before. Is he really that okay with no longer being human anymore? He supposes he is, as long as it means he'll be strong enough to protect those who matter to him most. ]
Anyway, thank you for the food.
[ Because he'll start eating now. ]
