WHAT: Catch-all log for cleaning up (or making more of a mess of) Neo Tokyo's crime scene! Refer to the OOC post here for details. Neo Tokyo's current social and political climate can be found under the World / Setting section here.

As the base in Tokyo has gotten back to rights, someone has made sure to put recruitment posters back up for a specialised subsection of an anonymous Neo Tokyo security agency! Feel free to assume that's where most of the directives come from. Characters can also visit the Security Agency HQ (A small office) where they can get more information from Silco about the plot or learn about the side quests available!

People are free to use this log or their own for open and closed starters. Please feel free to treat this like an open log! However, if you'd like to contribute to the quest chain or setting changes, please remember to eventually submit your links and a summary in the First Header so I can send them to the mods to progress the crime plot!

Best Bang for your Buck
One of the more well-off CEOs in Neo-Tokyo has a reputation of working closely with one of the most infamous (and untouchable) politicians in the city. The politicain himself is difficult to corner or get close to, however, the CEO is marginally more available. Or at least, his business is aways hiring, and they contract several services such as cleaning out to small businesses. He also has several close associates known for frequenting many of the clubs in Neo-Tokyo as well, and they are easy to speak with, especially when indulging in drink or drugs.

Outsiders will need to get information about him from either his associates or fellow workers, where they can find him. He’s a bit notoriously difficult to find, but after investigating, Outsiders will be able to find out that he frequents the Underground, or rather – a string of clubs and fighting rings run not by legitimate businesses, but Crime Syndicates. It seems our CEO isn’t as squeaky clean as one would think. Outsiders will need to stalk this CEO to find out more about where he goes, as well as his dealings within the underground.

LILITH would be appreciative to know who he is meeting and what it is about, but it is up to Outsiders whether they share this information with LILITH, or if they report it to the “agency”, or both.

Hissy Pit
LILITH has obtained information from previous investigations that there are money-laundering schemes that seem more far-reaching than just in Neo Tokyo, and include both local businesses paying protection fees as well as outside entities that are investing in Neo-Tokyo’s criminal enterprises. They aren’t certain of how far it goes, but rumors suggest it may be spreading to other crime-friendly locations, like Las Vegas. Getting information is trickier, as Outsiders will need to obtain information while infiltrating an Underground Fight club to do so. Information suggests that they use kaiju they’ve stolen to fight not only other kaiju, but other promising human fighters, and earlier in the nights, the unfortunate. Either those that owe a debt, a captured rival, or snitches. (You are free to use common and small Kaiju from the TDM as fighting Kaiju in your threads! Maybe a few rift-corrupted beetles?)

Outsiders are asked to infiltrate this dangerous den and obtain information by any means necessary. Saving civilians in the meantime is desired, but may not be possible. Outsiders are encouraged to attempt to keep a low profile during this operation if at all possible. Outsiders are also strongly discouraged (but not prohibited) from using their powers if they end up in the ring. Tipping the organizations off can lead to the underground to either move, or disappear entirely and a new scheme could crop up in the meantime.

LILITH would appreciate any information turned over to them in regards to these connections, as well, but it’s entirely up to the Outsiders if they want to provide that information to LILITH, the “agency”, or both!

It's definitely lacking character. I feel like that's important in a nefarious villain. They don't have the heart for it.

( He can understand the need for a window in the door, but then he thinks looking through it would certainly give whoever usually resides in their a cowardly edge. It's not something he'd consider for himself. His office was nice, it was tidy. If he had to clean blood from the panels every so often, that was fine. Manami helped him keep on track of things. )

One day you should show me. ( Hands in his pockets, but the tell-tale rift of black brings forth another curse, this one skittering up the wall where they've just come from, watching the doorway. Geto pays it no mind. He could send another to their destination, but this is Silco's mission. He's just here to be a nuisance. ) What are the simulation rooms for if not for showing off?

Hah, well, if you show me yours, perhaps I'll do you the courtesy of seeing mine.

[ He says it with a little chuckle. He's barely considered it, showing Zaun off like that. He loves it, of course. Desperately. Fully. It's his home, he wouldn't fight for it like he did if he didn't. But it was his, he supposes there would be no harm in showing Geto his little kingdom underground.

All putrid waste and dark corners and all. ] I suspect yours had an air of... reverence to it, didn't it?

[ Compared to his, which was... different. Messy in some ways, eccentric, the devices and items and all of the little touches. Silco's office here seems drab by comparison, but perhaps what it really is, is temporary.

He tries the handle, it twists easy, and when they enter, he's greeted with...silence. Nothing. ]

What sort of leader parties with the Staff? [ He says derisively, a scoff of disgust as he starts to move in, fingers already dragging across the desk.

It had to look the part.

( And Geto had always been traditional in some ways. A contradiction in the way he'd worn his gauges, his nail varnish, with other parts staunchly proper. He'd always been chaffing at the edges, somehow. ) I made scrolls for it. Proper calligraphy and everything. ( Privately amused, because Silco wouldn't exactly know what that meant. Nor would he probably understand Geto's mottos. Death to the fool, punishment to the weak, love to the strong. What a little idiot he'd been. ) I can show you the compound.

( But this office is empty, and Geto snorts out a laugh at Silco's apparent judgement. )

Ah, maybe he's one of the ones now missing an Achilles tendon. Wouldn't that be something? What are we looking for?

Hah. Hopefully he is. It serves him right for shirking his duties.

[ He moves toward the desk, his fingers dancing across wood as he starts to flip through paperwork and items, little nothings on the desk. There is no system, but as he rifles through, he starts to find more of what he's looking for. Information for the logins to his system.

He takes a snapshot with his implant. ]

I want his information. He'll have it stored somewhere in his internal systems, but to get it, I need his information.

Fools like this, though, they keep their passwords, just in case. [ He holds up the card. ]

I want to see where he gets his kaiju, who supplies him, and so on, and so forth.

[gorb]

( He watches with half an eye, not quite bored but not quite invested in what they might uncover. He does at least rattle a few of the cabinets, pausing when he hears glass clinking. Whatever the bottle is, he pulls a face, shutting it back up inside, voice pitched friendly enough. )

Are you thinking of taking over the whole black market?

( Idle, turning to lean his weight on the metal behind him, arms crossed. )

What does that entail exactly? Eliminating the competition I understand. But you'll need a rapport with the buyers. Some extra funding? I don't think all the rich fucks around here have been eaten, they must be somewhere. Do you have targets yet?

[zauneyete]

[ His eyes watch him open the bottle, and blanch.

Nothing good, then. ]

You think too small, Geto.

[ The black market. That's a part of it, of course, but... ]

I'm destabilizing all of it. All of the gangs, the entire structure.

When they don't have anything left, and there's nobody with enough sense to be in charge...

[ A shrug. A twist of his lips, as he rifled through more of the desk, coming up with very little. What few papers he keeps, he leaves out, and takes a snapshot, before he pulls out his lighter. ]

Why, that's when a new figure can take the reigns.

[gorb]

Small.

( An easy laugh. )

Oh, I guess so. World-ending or nothing, that's me. ( Ever so cheerful. ) Is that you then? This guiding light?

[zauneyete]

[ A soft chuckle.

He lights the papers on fire on the desk, and watches them burn. ]

I intend to be.

This won't be my first operation I've built from the ground up. Why, they would be lucky to have my experience. And I'm wasted merely keeping books.

[gorb]

Well.

( Well. )

I'm very good at imparting senile old men from their money. ( A sly tilt of his head. ) If you need more than what you can gather here, then I'm sure I can take time out of my busy schedule to help oil the wheels a little.

( He's bored. He misses the con. )

[zauneyete]

I might have to take you up on that.

[ The pages start to smell, but Silco doesn't mind. He lets them burn to ashes on the desk. There wasn't much, but he wants them to know he was here.

Or at least someone was here. ]

After all, I'm sure they aren't doing anything with said money, now are they?

[gorb]

Nothing that we couldn't do better anyway.

( He levers himself off of the filing cabinet, another lazy sweep of the room. )

I'll come by one day soon. I have a few ideas. There's a couple of places a little pressure could be applied. Just between us two, of course.

[zauneyete]

Do you?

[ They're done here, really. He has what he wanted, and he left a mark. He gestured toward the door, to allow him to lead if he so chose. Silco had his gun on him, but he remembered that Geto wasn't particular to them, so he left it holstered for the moment.

His fingers brushed one of his knives instead. ]

Well, I'll look forward to hearing your ideas.

[gorb]

( So considerate. Geto's just going to slide on out, relaxed as anything. )

Do you need anything more from my friends out there? Or are we done for the night? I promised Satoru I'd bring him sweets back, and it's a little like having a misbehaved dog. He'll start chewing the furniture soon.

( Best friends. )

Oh, I think you don't need to trouble them much more. After all, they've done enough of the damage, and I have the information I need.

[ A twitch of his lips, overconfident. ]

Why don't you go on home, I'm sure your... misbehaving Dog [ A look. Come on Geto. ] will get antsy before too long.

[gorb]

( The laugh he gets is easy and boyish, dispelling the sentry curses at the door and then following the same path. There are less bodies than he was expecting, and the ones that are downed seem to still be breathing, if the pained groaning is anything to go by. Geto does not seem all that bothered, picking his way over fallen furniture to bring back his own curses. Possibly the kaiju have escaped too. )

All right, be good, don't get into mischief.

He gives Silco a cheery little wave, but then he's gone. He really does have a 7-11 pitstop to see to. )
