The box is homemade, sanded down and carved into shape, reusable once they need it. The lid bears their names looped together and the date, printed with intricate flowers all around the edges. Inside there's a set of magnets, chopsticks, a plush blanket, snacks, and a giftcard for milk tea, because he panicked a little. He signs the guest book too, though the ink has a suspicious tear shaped blotch. Sorry.
Yato & Hiyori,
If anyone deserves good in their lives it's you two. I love you both. Be safe, be well, be happy.
[ The notebook page has two pressed flowers very carefully put on it. They don't appear to move and shouldn't fall so long as they're careful with the book. A pink and a blue one, with their stems wrapped together.
There is a short message with Ereshkigal's handwriting under them: ]
To everlasting love, For those two souls that were meant for each other.
[A note, and Jessica's attempt at drawing two capybaras, surrounded by little flowers and hearts.]
Congratulations! May your life together be joyous and filled with good fortune. -Jessica
[She's not sure what the etiquette of saying she's praying to one god for another, but she is totally sending up prayers to her Goddess for the new couple, asking her to bless their union.]
*while he hasn't had a chance to actually meet the bride, given his arrival was recent - Yato was kind to him and he did promise that he'd bring a gift since he got an invite!
So there's going to be the pink toaster that he promised to Yato that he hopes that Hiyori will like as well. Along with a nice gift basket of flowers - carefully arranged with pink orchids, peonies, and hydrangeas. All uniquely arranged by the big guy himself
As for the guest book, he isn't really the best at words, so he keeps it simple for them, making sure to be very careful when writing in it*
May your lives be filled with laughter, love and kindness. Congratulations to you both.
[ in a separate room, before she has to walk down the aisle -
hiyori's hands tremble as she adjusts a hairpin tucked neatly in her dark hair. while waiting, sometimes she stands in front of the mirror and takes deep, meditative breaths.
other times, she smiles so big that her cheeks hurt and her eyes glitter.
for the hundredth time, within the hour, she says "I do" under her breath with her cheeks flushed. she holds a paper in her hands, muttering her vows under her breath.
and to anybody that's in there with her: ]
Thank you for being here. I'm fine, I swear I'm fine. I'm ready. I really am.
[ everything about her seems to vibrate, except those words. those are sure. when she grabs her bouquet, her hands are still a bit shaky. ]
... Do you think he’s okay out there? He’s probably sweating through his jacket.
2. a) RECEPTION | BUFFET TABLES
[ it's after the surprise kpop dance routine with yato, dressed in something worthy for the stage, that Hiyori heads over to get something to drink because, dang, that was hard work. she really respects idols.
looking back, the flash mob was really fun so even she couldn't say 'no' to doing something like it at their wedding. if only everyone, including people who couldn't be here, could've enjoyed it.
she goes for WATER for MAX HYDRATION, chugging it like a madwoman and sighing happily when she's done. okay. time to greet everyone she hasn't seen yet.
whoever is next to her, to start.
she's beaming so brightly, so happily. ]
Hey! Thanks for coming! How's the food? The sakura mochi look so cute, right?
b) GAMES
[ when she's not greeting guests, she's hovering around the activities area. checking out what games people are playing, cheering someone on in horseshoes when they get a ringer.
she's super into jenga, too. in fact, she's around that one the most. she always comes back to watch people play.
at some point, she's around the photo booth and going through the props. the one with pink hair stands out and she picks it up along with the yellow sunglasses.
now she just needs - aha! taking one of the crowns, surprise, it's going on your head. ]
Interested in taking some pictures together? I want one with everyone but that might be a little -
[ okay, a big undertaking. but hey she'll still give it a shot. ]
3. WILDCARD
[ if you want a custom starter with brideyori, let me know hereeee ]
( He's never been in this position before. Attending a wedding is one thing, but being part of it is another, and he's already cried at least three times so far today. Still, his focus is on Hiyori as he comes up to her, reaching inside of his suit pocket for a flask.
- That's what you do, right? You offer stressed people alcohol -. ) It's better stuff than usual, if you want it? I made sure to buy the fancy kind for the wedding, just in case.
( This is all delivered with a bright, beaming smile. He's trying very hard, he even rushed out yesterday to buy a suit, even though he feels kind of dumb in it. )
Or if you need me to put you over my shoulder and run you out of here, just say the word. ( Eyes sparkling, he means just like she did for him that first time, stuck in a wedding dress and Hiyori his saving grace. ) I'll do it, I swear.
[ Yuji practically throws himself at Hiyori as soon as he sees her, rushing over to wrap his arms around her and spin her around, heedless of her pretty dress, or makeup, or anything like that. His delight is obvious, and when he puts her down he grabs her hands. ]
[ There is someone who has been a top provider in lacrimal fluids for the entirety of the ceremony. How could she not? It's so beautiful! Two souls getting united till death do them apart! And possibly even beyond that if she has anything to say about it. I-It's even more beautiful than what she's read in the books. She'd imagined it multiple times in her head, but anything her mind had come up with? It all paled when compared to the real deal?
Thankfully, she'd cried silently. With a very happy smile, except for when the tears got to be too much. And the moment Yato gets dragged by a friend who congratulates him, Ereshkigal immediately rushes to the bride's side. ]
Congratulations!! It-It was so beautiful...!
[ The goddess has probably never looked happier, sparkling included. If not for the dresses, people might be forgiven if they assumed she was the one who just got married. ]
It was like a fairy tale when you exchanged the rings... And then-- [The exchange of vows! The kiss! And Hiyori didn't even faint! She's such a brave soul. ] Ah... I-I'm so happy for you two.
[ Sniff. That's the most beautiful thing she's ever seen. She understands now why so many people divorce. It's so they can do it again! The thought had never crossed her mind, but that makes so much sense now. Maybe it's a bit greedy though, she's not entirely sure how to feel about this. ]
[Finally, as the day wears on, it comes time for the biggest event in Yato's life: the marriage ceremony! Everything goes as planned, despite Yato tearing up midway through the speech and needing Hiyori to help soothe him a bit. Though when it comes time for the garter toss, Yato tries to be sexy by taking it off with his teeth, only to get his head shoved away by his new, heavily blushing bride. Alas. Thankfully he learns his lesson once his hair is slightly tousled, and decides to use his hands instead before flinging the thing into the crowd with a pout.
Then there's the cake cutting. Nothing amiss there, though he does dab his new bride's nose with a bit of the dessert, laughing all the while. He doesn't dare risk ruining her gown or incurring her wrath by being overzealous with the cake smooshing. He wants this to be a somewhat composed occasion! No food fights, heh.
When it comes time for the first dance, he can be found cutting it on the dance floor with his and Hiyori's coordinated idol routine, looking like he's practiced for hours (spoilers: he has.) He's surprisingly good, fluid with his movements, and eager for others to give it a go. Anyone who seems too shy or reluctant is getting the groom up in their grill, encouraging them to join him for some fun, though once the music switches to a slow dance, he naturally gravitates back to his wife (how sweet it is to say that!) where they can be found smiling sappily at each other. Care to cut in?]
🎉 2. Party Games
[As the main instigator of the whole game fiasco, Yato is bound to get in on the fun! He can be found trying out various games throughout the day:
A: Conversation Starters: Although Yato fills out all the normal things like favorite color (Hiyori pink) and best memory (receiving his mini shrine), the ocular decides to also add in his guilty secret - "I once dislocated Hiyori's arm." Not one of his finer moments.
B: Mini Golf: While Yato's normally pretty damn good at aiming things, one can hardly predict the impact of the miniature kaiju obstacles. Thus he gets cockballblocked by the Imugi windmill, gets his ball blasted by the Shachimon water spray, and ends up in the Alitta Virens sand trap, much to his dismay, causing him to let out a curse as his ball is spit back at him and hits him in the forehead.
C: Pinata: Even though he's the one who arranged the damn thing, Yato hasn't a clue how crazy these things are. It's not until he's covered in mini kitty kaiju that he finally realizes what a fiasco he's brought to his own wedding. Being a lover of cats, he first tries just flinging them away, only for them to come scurrying back for more nibbles, until eventually he starts to disappear beneath a wave of the wee beasties, having toppled over.]
Ack! Where the hell did you all come from?!
🍡 3. Conclusion
[Now that night has fallen, Yato decides to take part in seeing some lanterns off. He sends up several of various colors, though the last one he does he spends longest on: a yellow one inscribed with '雪音', and covered in so many wishes and prayers that it's difficult to read them all. Some include "be safe", "trust in us", "happiness forever", and "successful studies." Which may sound generic, but he means them all the same.
He holds the lantern tenderly, like it's alive, staring somewhat wistfully at it. Not noticing anyone nearby, he whispers to it:]
I'll be home someday, I promise... Hang in there, okay?
🃏 4. Wild Card
[Feel free to come at me with other ideas or reach me at lombardia to plot!]
[ her steps are quiet on the path, but her heart isn’t. it beats steadily in her chest — loud, quick, full. impossibly full. louder than the music playing.
the aisle stretches ahead, lined with petals and faces. yet she sees only him. only ever has eyes for him. for ten years, she kept yato in her heart without remembering his face or his name.
just the shape of it on her lips.
there he is, standing at the end, dressed so smartly. as if someone helped him into his best self. bakugo, maybe? thank you, bakugo. not the worst man, best man. his scarf is gone. jersey, gone. not even a police uniform. but it's really the way his eyes capture her when he sees her — those... they doesn't change. she can't stop the winded and almost giddy smile that instantly shows up.
hiyori clutches her bouquet a little tighter, not out of nerves, but to keep from running. not away, to him. a mad dash forward to his side. slowly, step by step, she tells herself. she'll get there.
this is real. somehow, it takes far less time compared to the others to stop expecting to wake up. we're here.
with each step, memories flicker behind her eyes — battles, laughter, rooftops, stars, and shrines. hands reaching, sometimes literally sometimes metaphorically, for each other. names called across a distance, into holes that lead down to yomi. desperately. happily. in frustration. in exasperation. a god and a girl.
she settles at his side. finally. where she wants to be. ]
( He comes to find Yato early enough before the festivities begin, his smile bright and his eyes suspiciously wet. He's wearing a suit, awkward in it but happy enough for now, and when he reaches into the blazer pocket it's to offer Yato his hipflask, eyes crinkling. )
I don't really know what people do at weddings, but I made sure this was the good stuff, just in case.
( Brightly, his smile crinkling. )
I like your suit. Very dapper. ( Then, gently. ) Nervous?
[ Not long after the vows have been exchanged and the party begun, Yato can find a very tearful, very smiling. She's just done congratulating his wife (it's gonna take time getting accustomed to saying that) and the tears just won't stop coming. ]
Y-Yato... I think it's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen...
[ She wishes she could have recorded this with her implants so she could have watched it again later! That's how beautiful it was. M-Maybe someone has recorded it through other means...?
No matter. With no warning, she pulls him into a hug. Maybe a bit too strong of a hug, she forgets her A-rank strength sometimes. ]
You were like a true fairy tale prince in the happy ending of a romance here...!
[Raidou is in attendance in an old-fashioned suit and hat, even though he usually attends these sort of affairs in more traditional wear. It seemed on theme with the wedding party this way, though. At the gifts table, he leaves a pot of pink gerbera daises straight from the Okinawa garden. Not cut flowers - they're too precious to him now to do that. There is a small engraved plaque on a stick embedded into the soil, that has the name of the couple and the date of the wedding as well. That way, if they didn't want to keep it in their room, they could plant them in the base greenhouse and have the memorial stay with them.
The seats reserved for those now gone gives him pause as he makes his way to his seat, a bittersweet smile on his face. It's good to see those people aren't forgotten.]
🞂 002. GET TO KNOW ME
[Of course, Raidou isn't bothering to fill out his card. He can never think of anything interesting to put on these sorts of things, and besides, don't most people here at least know him in a cursory sense? He should know better by now that the AI will just do it for him.
Under the "interesting fact" portion under his name, age, and team info is: I have slipped and fell on a banana peel. Twice.]
🞂 003. PIÑATA
[Look. Raidou just wanted to sit back and watch the fun with a glass of wine or two. Maybe do some dancing later. He's avoiding that truth or dare wheel like the plague. When the piñatas are busted open and out spill tiny kaiju cats, he is reluctantly spurred into action. If only his cleansing ability worked on regular kaiju like it did in the Underworld. He scruffs one of the little miscreants and holds it out with his arm outstretch, feeling the rift energy emanating from it and wondering what on Earth they're supposed to do wit them.]
... How did they even fit in there?
🞂 004. WILDCARD
[For any other shenanigans you want to drag him into. You might have better luck as the night goes on and that wine glass keeps getting refilled...]
[ It doesn't take long for Yuji to sneak up behind Raidou, grabbing him around the waist and holding him close as he peers over his shoulder. It's normal now, casual intimacy, and he's beaming as he looks at the gift his partner left. ]
[ denji sat still through the ceremony, eyes ahead but not quite on the bride and groom like everyone else. his gaze wandered more than it should, mostly landing on bakugou's profile ... for reasons. even so, denji paid attention. he clapped when everyone clapped, smiled when it felt right, and didn't miss a beat. it helped that he took the front row, fully visible and fully dressed in a sleek suit (yeah, he'd lose the jacket at some point but he wanted to look good for the pictures!), his tie a slightly darker shade that pulled the look together without trying too hard. after the vows wrapped and the seats cleared, he wandered off to check out the rest of the venue. hey, it's his first wedding party ever, and probably his last, so he will fucking explore every bit of it!
later into the evening, he was easy to spot. something small and warm had made a perch on his shoulder— a tiny cat kaiju, curled up with one paw hanging off and its tail swaying lazily near his back. its presence offered a subtle rift poisoning that ran through him like a dull current, yet it didn’t weigh him down ... it mellowed him out instead. his hands moved gently, and even the way he blinked felt slower. he heads over to grab something to eat. will someone slap that kaiju off him? don't hurt the cute kitty! ]
- truth or dare
[ the thing looked like it had been borrowed from a carnival game booth, but in a better condition. he stares at it for a while before he gave the wheel a casual flick, letting it click around with uneven rhythm. still spinning, he looked at the other person, a spark of mischief but no malice in his gaze. he nodded toward the wheel with a lazy gesture, brows raised. ]
Let's!
- conclusion
[ later that night, the music had softened into something gentle, almost an afterthought, and the lights were dimmed low in favor of the soft orange glow of paper lanterns being handed out to them. the air buzzed with a strange mix of laughter and reverence, everyone shifting from the chaos of the party into something quieter. someone explained the tradition: write a message to someone important back home, then light the lantern and let it go. the sky would carry it ... maybe. maybe it’d reach them. denji stood near the edge of the venue, a bit apart from the others, the cat kaiju still settled on his shoulder. his fingers curled around the smooth square of paper they gave him, the pen dangling from his other hand. he stared at the blank page.
for a long while, he didn’t move.
he tried to imagine it— some face, some voice, someone back home. but there wasn’t anyone waiting for him. the realization didn't gut him like it used to. maybe it was the kaiju curled around him like armor, or maybe it was the gentle, sleepy numbness from the mild rift poisoning dulling the edges of everything. he breathed out slowly through his nose, blinked once. he then leaned down and started to write. small, messy letters. just a name.
"asa." ... a pause, and then he added "and yoru". ]
(ooc; or come at me with a wild card! i'm up for anything! dance with him, too 🕺 )
[Since all the festivities are winding down and he's sent off his own lanterns with messages to those he cares for back home, Yato figures it would be a good idea to check on his guests and make sure they're doing alright given the sensitive nature of the final activity of the evening.
Once he spots Denji, he carefully makes his way over, startled a bit to see one of the kitten kaiju lingering with him. He doesn't immediately try to remove it though, figuring the guy has to know it's there and that if he wanted it removed, he would have by now. Instead, he merely takes a seat beside him, smiling softly.]
Hiya, Denji. How's it going? Got enough lanterns for those you want to send a message to?
[Feels strange to have a wedding in a world which isn't theirs, amid the reality each Outsider found themself in. For a day, kaiju, war, damage, everything seems to vanish in the embrace of white, pink, and happiness. Bakugo knew of this well in advance for reasons and he shows up with the rest of the groom's party a bit earlier. Rehearsals went well over the past two weeks, he knew his part and where to be. Final checks making sure Yato is groomed and ready in his suit, the rings are safe and known, even a quick growl about whether he's gonna remember his lines. "I do" - not that hard.
The rest of the pre-ceremony time, Bakugo tends to hang off at the side, dressed in an impressive suit with maybe a softer-than-normal scowl on his face. Not much of a socialite here, this one. Find him under one of the trees, a few sakura petals drifting around him since holograms are like that, holding a glass of cider in his hand with a plate of sushi between his fifth and fourth fingers in perfect balance. Leaves his other hand free to pluck a piece at his leisure. Otherwise he'll be wandering the shrine grounds, inspecting decorations and keeping watch on the proceedings. He wants this day to be perfect for his friend, so if you get the feeling he's a bit of an eagle-eyed bouncer... he is.]
💥 ➋ ❧ Ceremony
[This isn't his first wedding, but it's his firs one as a young man. When he actually knew what was going on and was personally invested in the people getting married. Not some kid dragged along because he couldn't stay alone in the house while his parents went to watch someone else get hitched. Bakugo takes his place at the front, flanking Yato in fair sync. He takes a moment to silently pay respects to the empty chairs of those who aren't with them anymore, facing them with a quiet expression. Being the best man means he's the one who makes sure the god's not gonna pass out from the wibbles of happiness during their vows. Hiyori can handle the tissues though. Light gleams off the rings when he passes them to Yato on a pink satin pillow, tied with a blue ribbon. He attends him the entire time, eventually trailing after the newlyweds once they've made their way down the aisle.]
💥 ➌ ❧ Conclusion
[Bakugo stands near the side of the venue, holding a white paper lantern with pink sakura petal designs on it. A flickering flame lingers within it, heating up as he rests the little tealight in its wicker basket. A message to someone important back home. He wrote a few actually. Once the lantern is good and warm, he gives it a small nudge with his hand, sending it up into the sky, head tilting back to watch it drift into the sakura-ladden air on its way to heaven and worlds beyond.
As for the guestbook...]
Make it the greatest marriage you'll both ever have, or I'll slaughter you. Congratulations, Bakami.
❧ Reception.
💥 ❧ Conversation Starters
[Does he have to fill this out? Dammit, who the hell here doesn't know him?! Bakugo scowls at the card pushed into his hand, then finally scribbles down some answers with a glare. What a pain in the butt. He's wary about it because the network's never 100% foolproof for some bullcrap shenanigans...]
Name: Bakugō Katsuki Occupation: Hero / Police Officer / Demolitions Abilities: I can nuke your ass with my hands. Interesting Fact: Screw this tie.
💥 ❧ Lawn Games
[He was skeptical when Yato brought it up to him the first time; he remains skeptical as he stands in the grass even now. Bereft of his jacket and under-jacket by now, tie ditched along with his vest, Bakugo's only in his dress shirt with the top two buttons undone and the released sleeves rolled up to his elbows, looking far more casual. Because he's here to kick some ass at this games. Whether he's sneaking out another piece in Jenga "Told ya it'd stay up!" ... ringing another horseshoe around the stake "HA! Twenty in a row! Beat that! ... or landing another amazing roll on the dice "YAHTZEE, FUCKER!!" Bakugo's here to win!
He has no patience for mini golf. Don't test him.]
💥 ❧ Photo Booth
[Damn right Bakugo's avoiding the photo booth! What do you think he is, some kinda shitty six year old brat getting his picture taken? Hell no, he's staying over here with the drinks or at the games or anywhere not-]
Oy! Stop pulling me! Dammit, get your own photo!
[-some people just don't know when to quit. Challenge his bravery or give him puppy eyes. You'll get your shot. But if you're familiar at all with Calvin and Hobbes, Bakugo only makes gremlin faces for photos... Good luck!]
💥 ❧ Truth or Dare Spin-the-Wheel
[Whoever talked him into participating is a dead person the second the sun goes down, dammit! Bakugo grabs the wheel with one hand and wrenches it so hard, you'd expect the damn thing to break off the spoke and carve a world-cleaving slice through the city! Luckily, it does not.]
Land on something shit and I'll kill you.
[Was that to you or the wheel? Who knows. Feel free to pick which one you want!]
💥 ❧ Dance Card
[Bakugo's dance card's first slot belongs to Denji, bu once he's had his dance(s) with his boyfriend, then anyone who wants to dare the bomb and invite him to dance is welcome to. He can slow dance, he can ballroom, he can active dance, he can tango. Just because he doesn't like to doesn't mean he isn't good at it. But unless you specify otherwise, he's gonna lead.]
[OOC: Unfortunately I'm going to be away for vacation this weekend through next week. Without steady net access. Life timing sucks! I'll try to worm in some time throughout the week for responses, but can't make promises. Sorry about this! I'll be back to regular speed on Aug 3!]
[If there's one thing Yato is sure of, it's that having someone there to support him definitely helps ease his unsteady nerves. Those who know Katsuki might be surprised that his presence is a source of comfort to the god, but he is for a variety of reasons, not least of which being his steadfast and composed nature. It's like having a reliable brother to count on.
So once the official proceedings are over and he's made his way down the aisle with his new wife so they can start accepting congratulations and well wishes along the way, Yato takes a moment to hang back and beam at his best man.]
Hey~ Thanks so much for everything, man. That was perfect!
[Jessica's new here, but Yato invited her to his wedding on basically her first day here. Of course she's going to come celebrate his joyous union.
She's picked out a cute pink dress with simple white ballet flats to wear. As she approaches the venue, she looks around at the decorations in wonder.]
Wow, it's gorgeous! I guess he got his shrine together after all.
Ceremony
[Jessica tries to be tough and not cry about things... but happy tears don't count, right? It's too beautiful... and the vows are so romantic... and they look so happy together!
She sniffles, trying to keep it together, as the couple exchange rings and then an adorable kiss.]
Reception
[Jessica won't be indulging in any champagne, but cider and cake? Absolutely! She's never played Jenga before, but is willing to learn... and quickly lose, given some impulsive block choices and a lack of patience when it comes to finessing it out.
She will also take a whack at the pinata, wielding the bat like her trusty mace and sending cat kaiju soaring. Oops.
She's oddly reluctant to join in on the bouquet toss, but can be persuaded to play Truth or Dare or to head out to the floor for a dance.
And at the end of the night, she'll send up a lantern that she hopes will reach the Silver Star- May the Goddess bless you and keep you safe until I get home.]

Yato 🤵♂️ | Noragami | Everlight
🎉 2. Party Games
🍡 3. Conclusion
🃏 4. Wild Card
WILDCARD.
the aisle stretches ahead, lined with petals and faces. yet she sees only him. only ever has eyes for him. for ten years, she kept yato in her heart without remembering his face or his name.
just the shape of it on her lips.
there he is, standing at the end, dressed so smartly. as if someone helped him into his best self. bakugo, maybe? thank you, bakugo. not the worst man, best man. his scarf is gone. jersey, gone. not even a police uniform. but it's really the way his eyes capture her when he sees her — those... they doesn't change. she can't stop the winded and almost giddy smile that instantly shows up.
hiyori clutches her bouquet a little tighter, not out of nerves, but to keep from running. not away, to him. a mad dash forward to his side. slowly, step by step, she tells herself. she'll get there.
this is real. somehow, it takes far less time compared to the others to stop expecting to wake up. we're here.
with each step, memories flicker behind her eyes — battles, laughter, rooftops, stars, and shrines. hands reaching, sometimes literally sometimes metaphorically, for each other. names called across a distance, into holes that lead down to yomi. desperately. happily. in frustration. in exasperation. a god and a girl.
she settles at his side. finally. where she wants to be. ]
Hi. Were you waiting long?

I don't really know what people do at weddings, but I made sure this was the good stuff, just in case.
( Brightly, his smile crinkling. )
I like your suit. Very dapper. ( Then, gently. ) Nervous?

denji 》csm 》everlight
(ooc; or come at me with a wild card! i'm up for anything! dance with him, too 🕺 )
Conclusion
Once he spots Denji, he carefully makes his way over, startled a bit to see one of the kitten kaiju lingering with him. He doesn't immediately try to remove it though, figuring the guy has to know it's there and that if he wanted it removed, he would have by now. Instead, he merely takes a seat beside him, smiling softly.]
Hiya, Denji. How's it going? Got enough lanterns for those you want to send a message to?

Bakugō Katsuki 💥 Boku no Hero Academia 💥 Everlight
❧ Marriage.
💥 ➊ ❧ Introduction
Make it the greatest marriage you'll
both ever have, or I'll slaughter you.
Name: Bakugō Katsuki
Occupation: Hero / Police Officer / Demolitions
Abilities: I can nuke your ass with my hands.
Ceremony
