[ closed ] just wanna go outside with you,
WHO: Geto Suguru, Gojo Satoru
WHAT: Monster-hunting.
WHERE: Kyoto.
WHEN: November.
WARNINGS: N/A but will update if that changes.
( They take a portal to Kyoto, and then the bird as far as they can, a run down little village outside of Kyoto currently teeming with Kaiju. Geto lets his curse circle it for a moment, aware of Gojo's heat at his back, and thinks of the best course of action, directly the many-winged pelican to a sloped roof. At his hip there is the new katana, playful cloud strapped to his back. He thinks about offering one to his friend. Declines the idea. )
Do you think this will satisfy your bloodlust, Satoru?
( Teasing, but one of the first things he's said all day since they started out. ) The big one prowls the edges, as far as I know. We might have to go further out to find it. But you can whet your appetite here first.

( He will go and threaten Muramasa if he thinks he has to though, so there's that. )
Raidou-san is fine. Yuji likes him. They seem to be good for each other. I'm not sure about Megumi, but I have my suspicions

[ An amused smile. He's not going to spill any details, and he wouldn't share even that much with anyone but Suguru, but the two of them are co-parents now, so they can exchange a few notes. ] Nothing official yet, but I think your suspicions are correct.
I met Raidou. He seems respectable. Very polite, and a skilled fighter. Unsurprising that that would be Yuji's type.
[ His fingers drift back and forth, idly, over the fabric of Suguru's pants. ]

They'll figure it out. At least it's matters of the heart and now life or death for the most part. That's better, isn't it?
no subject
See? [ He flicks Suguru's hip, teasing. ] What did I say? Living for those we love, in this new life of ours. I'm so wise. You're so lucky to have me around.
no subject
( Unhelpful grumbling. )
I need more to fill my day with than worrying about your children's love affairs. It's depressing enough as is. ( He doesn't have a job. He's a professional bum. ) I'll never keep track.
no subject
Please, there are only three of them. You can count that high.
Four, I guess, since now we're going to have to adopt baby Nanami.
But, sure, are you saying you want to kill monsters or you still just want to watch me kill monsters? I can't blame you, I know that I make for a stunning view.
no subject
Your ego hasn't taken a knock then, Satoru?
( Also he's fairly certain there are multiple boys in love with Itadori Yuji, but he finds he doesn't really want to gossip about it now. So instead he nudges his knee a little into the back of his friend's skull. )
Get up. You made me bring you out here. I would have liked staying in bed. Now we have to actually work.
no subject
If you're gonna be staying in bed there'd better be sex involved.
[ He rolls off Suguru's lap anyway, which means rolling off the roof into space. He drops a foot and then rights himself, grabbing Suguru's wrist to pull him along. Keeping them both suspended, he gives Suguru a challenging grin. ] Come on, fight alongside me. Like we used to.
no subject
All right. As long as you try to keep up.
( Cocky, in the way that only he can really be when it comes to Gojo Satoru. There is a new herd coming, he can see them on the horizon, and he pulls playful cloud free with a grin, letting go of his friend to drop to the floor with deadly grace. ) No slacking, Satoru.
( An old teasing purr, a wink, and then he's off. )
no subject
Snapping out of it, Satoru drops to the ground and zooms after him, muscles tingling with anticipation for a fight. He catches up with Suguru, running by his side for a few moments before they break to opposite sides as the herd approaches, and Satoru launches himself into the air.
This time, he fights bare-handed, not bothering to use his more explosive destructive abilities. He wants to feel flesh against his fists, wants to savor the power of pummeling something so much larger than him and knowing that it's puny in comparison to a might like his own.
He's constantly aware of Suguru, moving in conjunction with him, taking opportunities that Suguru provides and covering his back when he needs it. In some ways, it's the same as ever, but their styles have changed. Satoru's never seen him fight with this new weapon of his, and Satoru's mastery of packing cursed energy behind his fists has only gotten stronger. He's gotten out of the habit of fighting with a partner, and he's still adjusting to the changes to his own abilities since arriving here.
But he approaches the fight like it's a game, and playing with Suguru is far more interesting to him than pure violence or efficiency. So he starts batting the monsters in Suguru's direction, lining them up for Suguru to finish off, but doing it at a rate to keep Suguru constantly moving, making him work to keep up with the challenges that Satoru swats in his direction. ]

He has always enjoyed fighting side-by-side with Satoru. They were a great team once upon a time, and he's relieved now to know that even with this momentary change in their lives they still are. He dispatches his own kaiju with all the showy grace he'd honed in previous years, light on his feet, quick, the chain of his three-part staff snapping necks as he twirls across the battlefield. At one point he sends his friend a look, voice light and carefree as he calls out. )
Ah, are you tired, Satoru? Because you seem to think this is some kind of tennis match, no? Serving me them like this.
( Laughter in the words even as a kaiju tries to sink their teeth in his arm. He shifts out of the way, attention caught briefly on the horizon. )
Oh, we don't have to track the big one down. He must have heard the commotion.
no subject
[ He pauses atop one of the kaiju, balancing lightly on its head as it snarls and swivels and swipes at him. He's having fun showing off, being as unearthly and strange as he ever was. It's hard for him to look away from Suguru when his best friend is showing off with such deadly grace and power. He always finds Suguru attractive, but he's hottest of all when he's fighting. Strong and smart and dangerous. So Satoru's eyes stay on him, tracking and fighting the kaiju with his six eyes so that his celestial gaze can stay locked on Suguru. ] I'm the one doing all the running around sending them your way. Lining them up for you to knock them down.
[ Distracted as he is with his immediate vicinity, Satoru isn't watching the horizon, and he looks up with a grin as Suguru draws attention to it. His grin goes wide and feral, blood thrilling with the promise of an even larger threat. ] You want me to get this one? Might be too tough for you. [ His eyes sparkle, all playful challenge, because he knows Suguru can match him. ]
no subject
( He weighs up his options.
In the end the answer is simple. He flicks his hair over one shoulder, foxlike gaze turning crescent shaped and pleased. ) No, no. You stay there and look pretty, Satoru. We wouldn't want you to wind yourself.
( It's so easy to tease. It's even easier to set off at a running jump, using the steadily increasing pile of corpses as leverage to make it to the rooftops, a blur in black as he launches himself to land on the larger kaiju's back. It roars at them both, agitated, tries to buck Geto off. His thighs tighten, playful cloud jamming into the delicate shape of an eye socket. His laugh travels. The monster still thrashes. )
Stop marvelling, Satoru. They're coming from behind.
no subject
How can I not marvel? [ More laughter, light and teasing, before he pirouettes in the air, sending out a fan of Reds in pinpoint accuracy. Too many kaiju trying to swarm him at once--rude of them, really. He cuts them down in a swathe. None of these things are a challenge for him, they're just playthings. This whole encounter is about Suguru, not about the monsters. If there are too many of them at once, that's a distraction. He scatters them, leaving a semicircle of corpses.
Suguru leaps, readjusting for a new attack, and Satoru boosts him with a spin of Red right behind him to allow him to change trajectory in midair, landing on the monster again for a new attack. ] You're marvelous. Dazzling. It's not my fault you turn heads everywhere you go.
[ The kaiju roars at Satoru and he snarls back, then laughs. He's only mocking it--it's no threat to him. ]
no subject
You're so full of shit.
( Cheerful though. The bigger kaiju rears its head and tries to ram its entire body into a nearby building, Suguru only lets his weight drop, jamming the edge of his staff into the vulnerable part of its throat. There are less now. The streets are bloody. He's having a very good time. )
Who're you trying to win over, hm?
no subject
[ He lands on another of the small kaiju, gives it a playfully pouty face while it snaps at him. ] Telling them how pretty they are and what a good job they're doing. [ His tone is wickedly patronizing, in a way that would be cruel if the monsters were sentient enough to understand. He snaps its neck and lets the creature drop at his feet.
It's been a while since he's had a nice massacre. He hasn't faced so many curses at once in some time, not since--
He curtails that thought quickly.
Suguru's here. They're fighting together. That's what matters.
He strikes a blow to the big kaiju's knee, bringing it down, then slaughters another handful of the little ones as they approach, before turning to watch Suguru as he works near the head of the kaiju.
The glee of challenge has started to fade from him a little, turning into the callous coldness of a god as he views their little massacre. He can't view the kaiju as animals deserving as empathy, if he's supposed to kill them, and they're not smart enough to be an interesting challenge. They're just targets. Bits of meat to turn into pulp.
He blows the head off another kaiju, watching the splatter as it rains down, distracted away from his delight and awe in playing with Suguru as his mind slips a little too much into his role as a living weapon. ]

I'm bored.
( His voice loud, carrying. A hand snaps out to crush a skull with enough gathered energy. )
I want soba. Satoru, let's finish this up and go back, mm? I don't do wanton violence without payment anymore. This one was a freebie just for you, but it's dragging. ( Pay attention, his voice says, focus on me. ) And sake too.
no subject
The words all settle into his head, though there's a lag in the meaning on the first couple of sentences, while Suguru's gravity reasserts itself.
Suguru has always been his north star. Magnetized back to him, Satoru's attention settles almost entirely back on his best friend, leaving only a few peripheral scraps of awareness on what remains of the threats around them. ]
Sure. [ A little disassociation remains. He doesn't have any strong feelings about Suguru's suggested course of action. Food sounds ... fine. He doesn't care about staying, either. But he's got an old, old habit of doing anything Suguru tells him--or asks of him, though Suguru hardly ever asks for things.
Another scattered carpet bomb of reds, resolving the last little handful of small kaiju. Satoru doesn't even turn to watch them fall. His attention is fully on Suguru now.
He holds out his hand to his friend. He couldn't teleport them here, not knowing the destination, but he's got a personal anchor point back in his room now, so he can teleport back to base from anywhere. ] Want me to teleport us?
no subject
( He takes his hand easily, slipping playful cloud into his clothing again. There's not much left for it here, the corpses remain but he doesn't particularly care about clean-up. Maybe he can tell someone at LILITH to deal with it. )
Maybe we should order in. ( A hand lifting to smooth away a streak of red on Satoru's skin. ) Try to not scare the locals.
no subject
His mind is still coming back, refocusing, but it's always been easy to fixate on Suguru.
Popping them back to his room, they're hovering above the floor for an instant before Satoru sets them down safely and lets go. ] Yeah, we should probably take a shower or something. [ He grins at Suguru, and he's all the way back now, cheery with Suguru's company. Only the important parts of the fight settle into his head--Suguru fighting, Suguru being impressive and handsome--even though he's aware of his own tendency to forget how to be human sometimes, or to get too lost in the violence of a fight. ] What do you mean, without payment? We don't get paid per kaiju or anything? Do they not want this shit dealt with?
actually i think we do get paid ........ idk
Whatever it is, it's not enough.
( He can't exactly scam old rich fucks for money anymore, which is a shame. Not that he was rolling in it in their version of Tokyo, he'd a family to provide for and curse users to help keep safe. )
And it gets boring.
( He moves around the room, finding wipes at his drawers to start cleaning the stray streaks of blood. He even comes close enough to Satoru to take him by the chin, rubbing a little too hard against his cheek, mouth curved up into a cat-like amusement. )
no subject
What, you don't like me blood-spattered? I think I'm very hot blood-spattered.
No shower? Or shower after food?
[ The food is the obvious priority--that and being near Suguru. Satoru's happy after he got a nice violent date with Suguru and now food and maybe even cuddles? Honestly the perfect date. ]
no subject
( He's satisfied he's cleaned enough that Satoru can walk down the corridor without too many looks so he tosses the wipe in the trash and starts rummaging for fresh clothing. )
It doesn't have to be a long one. Just enough to clean up. We can even order now so we know it'll arrive as we're coming back. Will that do?
no subject
But he's trying to take things slow, trying to be careful with both their feelings. He feels wary of what new emotional scars Suguru has which Satoru doesn't know about, like the deaths of his daughters, and he thinks that he himself might be warier and more skittish than he's fully conscious of. Better to relearn each other slowly, to settle into this new dynamic. ] Yeah. That sounds perfect. Order whatever you think I'll like, Suguru. I don't care.
[ He can be picky about these things, but he knows Suguru knows his preferences, and probably knows what his favorite restaurants and dishes are around here. ]
no subject
( He's not sure he could join him and not give the game away, and there's an itching under his skin, the thrill of the fight and a boundless energy that he cannot work out through that alone. Usually they'd collide together, and so -. ) I'm going to the roof to smoke. I'll clean up after and come back. I know you're not a fan of the smell, but I've picked up the habit again.
( Extenuating circumstances. )
I'l bring the food with me. You can let yourself in here.

[ Satoru blinks at him, feeling disoriented by this addition to the plan. He'd been excited to get to shower with Suguru, excited to see him naked in his adult body, his broader shoulders, thicker muscle.
Obviously Suguru's looking to avoid that, and Satoru can't quite make sense of why. Maybe because Suguru's ashamed of new scars or other changes, maybe because Suguru's insecure or uncertain about the shifts in their dynamic, maybe beause Satoru's interest is unwanted.
There's no point in arguing, even though it's an obvious excuse. Satoru knows that he could push back and almost certainly get his way, but he doesn't want to push too hard in this. He's already pushing Suguru's comfort level (and maybe his own, but he doesn't want to look too closely at that), and things feel fragile. If anything, he feels like things have been too easy between them, avoiding and smoothing over the worst of the jagged hurt. Satoru's wary of anything that might pop the soap bubble of this new peace between them.
So he lets him go. ]
Okay.
[ He makes himself swallow it all down. Go and shower, then he can have Suguru again and food. Don't be disappointed. Be patient. For Suguru, be patient. ]
no subject
I won't be long, mm? I know if I leave you to your own devices you might get into some kind of mischief, and today's been nice. Less than an hour. You can take anything you need from in here, I don't have anything to hide.
( Well -.
Clothing that isn't his, but since it's Satoru's then he thinks that's easily enough explained. )
no subject
An hour? How many cigarettes you gotta smoke?
[ It's just grumbling, though, not any serious objection. There's a weird brief spike of jealousy that maybe Suguru's doing something else, meeting someone else--but he discards that quickly. He trusts Suguru and it would be difficult to hide things from six eyes anyway.
Don't be clingy. Don't be possessive.
He's going to be both clingy and possessive, but he can try at least to keep it under a certain level. ]
Don't take too long. [ More grumbling, but he goes to go wash the blood and muck out of his hair. ]
