THE OTHER SIDE
▷ THE OTHER SIDE.
▶ 001. Is This The End?
Ships may take off from Cape Canaveral, but they do not return there. Instead, ships typically land in the sea. Fortunately, technology has come a long way, so the landing is fairly smooth… compared to the controlled crash landings of the past.
The ship lands close to Tokyo Bay and the autopilot kicks in, guiding them back to the nearest harbor. While they wait on board, they will be inundated with messages from both LILITH and the space center that had tried to send messages earlier in their voyage.
Not long after they left for space, an event occurred on earth. Rifts began to open up all over the world, and it has resulted in multiple large scale disasters. Earthquakes rock entire countries, tsunamis sweep shores, and massive landslides wreak havoc. Multiple world governments have moved forward with what some people are calling ‘doomsday plans’.
Government agencies and military are mobilized to rescue as many people as possible and relocate them to safer areas like Japan, Korea, Mexico, Egypt, England, and more. The Outsiders may recognize these safe zones as places from their mission records. It seems that their past actions have managed to suppress Rift activity in the areas and the Rifts in those areas are essentially dormant. However, they are still areas with known rifts so while they may be safe for now, there's no telling how long that will last.
When they pull into port, there's little time to rest. They will immediately be mobilized to help with the global evacuation efforts. People from countries all over the world pour into Neo Tokyo through warp drives, ships, and planes. There isn't much shelter in the city so unfortunately, they have to turn to other areas like Neo Kyoto and Okinawa that are a little more established.
Outsiders will have to tend to civilians who are reeling from the effects of rushed warping. They will also have to help pass out emergency supplies and set up emergency shelters that they can settle in. Healers and medics will also have a designate spot. Tents are available but there are abandoned buildings on the outskirts of cities that they can also use. Help clear out the local kaiju and create a secure area for evacuees.
While helping the refugees, they can learn about what happened in their homes. They will hear various stories about rifts opening, disasters striking, and kaiju destroying their homes. The Yellow River floods in China, snowstorms bury Canada, earthquakes rattle Australia, and tornados sweep across Europe. Kaiju rise from the sea, come down from mountains, and manifest from rifts that appear in the sky.
What will the Outsiders say when these civilians look them in the eye and ask, "Is the world ending?"

▶ 002. Navigating the Sea.
While the Outsiders help with the immediate rush of refugees in the nation, LILITH has begun to coordinate with the many different governments and agencies around the world to try and find a way to save… Everything. They know from experience that the best way to close a Rift is to defeat the kaiju that come from them, but given the sheer amount of rifts opening up, there is no way they can seal each one individually. They have to be strategic, and the question is left at where to begin.
It seems that a large concentration of rift energy is centered around southeastern Europe and northern Africa. This is further confirmed by the Alexandria Institute in Egypt that says while they are relatively safe for the time being, the rift activity in their area seems to fluctuate, especially out towards sea. They don't know what is out there, but there is something. They just need to find a way to get there.
On the heels of the announcement, a message comes to all the Outsiders. Hearing Eadmund speak might feel more like a bad omen these days (and he admits as much himself!) but there is one thing that he makes clear: England is prepared to help; “Come to us,” he tells them, voice a low boom, “and we will do all that we can!”
Upon arrival in the familiar castle walls, all the Outsiders will be met by Eadmund himself, majestic in his lion glory, with the smaller body of Gwen at his side. She looks different from the last time that the Outsiders had seen her; she is less haunted, but not without her edge. She lets Eadmund do the talking, and the explanation is swift: together, they will travel to the abandoned City of London, and there their combined powers will be able to open a major Rift. They are kaiju themselves, after all, and with their connection rebuilt… They’ll be able to do it, they’re sure.
Before they go, they ask one last boon of their Outsider friends: please help as many of the new refugees as possible as the final preparations take place. The missions are similar to what Gwen had asked of them months ago - hunt, repair, rebuild, and take care of anyone who needs it. This time, she is a visible force, and if stopped and spoken to, her voice gentles. She is clearly grateful to the Outsiders, even if she’s not quite capable of saying anything. Her eyes often drift to Eadmund, who rumbles in delight any time their eyes meet.
The agreement is to leave late the following evening. Throughout the next day, some of the nosier Outsiders might notice Gwen and Eadmund having what seems to be a series of heated discussions with one another. The subject of their disagreement comes as soon as the Outsiders are in London and preparing for the Rift to be opened: one of them must stay behind to close the Rift and keep everyone else safe.
As soon as the Outsiders are ready, all preparations complete, Eadmund and Gwen stand before a wide open space in the destroyed capital. Together, they begin to open the Rift, her hand resting upon the strong flank of her lion partner, their shared powers tearing it open, a portal to a relative unknown. ”Quick,” Gwen shouts to them all, her eyes wild, bright with her power; a kaiju in spirit if not in form. “Before it closes, or something comes through to us!”
Travelling through this particular Rift is not as uncomfortable as previous ones. It feels more like a gentle embrace.
She waits until all the Outsiders are through before she turns her gaze to Eadmund. It is clear he intends to join their allies in their mission, but before he can take a single step forward, Gwen is leaping from him and throwing herself through the Rift, the break of their connection enough to leave it flickering towards closing. The last thing the Outsiders will hear before it closes is a roar of anguish, and the sound of Gwen drawing her blade.
There’s no regret on her face; only steeled determination.
“Let’s begin.”

▶ 003. A Garden of Eden.
On the other side of the rift, it appears to be a desolate wasteland; a vast plain stretching towards the horizon. The area may look familiar to those who are historians and understand Greek architecture, but the time period seems to be undetermined for now.
Broken architecture, untraveled ruins, a mix of sand, rock and dying plants litter the entire area. There seems to be no sign of humanity, here, but those who possess abilities to sense power will feel it; beneath their feet and in the air they breathe. A powerful source but no inclination as to where it is coming from. Gwen will lead the group of Outsiders, especially drawn to the energy source. However, on Outsiders, they will be reluctant to press forward for an unknown reason.. Gwen encourages those gently, but some particularly stubborn Outsiders may be need more then her kind words. Those stronger willed, drag your team mates a long by whatever force it takes. Gwen will continue onward with her sword drawn, leading everyone into a lush looking jungle. The jungle looks out of place in this environment, as it is teeming with flora and bright colors. Go forward, because there is no going back.

▶ 004. Ruin of the Exalted.
Within the jungle, there seems to be some contradiction. The general vibe feels peaceful once inside the jungle, but there are whispers in many different languages surrounding Gwen and the Outsiders. Some are in the tongue of Outsiders' native language, and even of the ocular devices translate for everyone, they will still know when things are spoken to them. The things they hear and generally not nice and threatening, promising Outsiders they will surely die if they continue much further. Some voices may try to convince Outsiders to turn on one another or kill each other. Gwen encourages them along, radiating a comforting presence. Despite these threats, no imminent danger seems to be afoot. The sound of a water fall is heard in the distance among the unnerving whispering.
Will you continue or will you stay? Will you risk your life or will to choose safety?
Eventually, a large ruin with a kaiju statue on the outside that is surrounded by a lake and mote will be seen. The kaiju resembles the Imugi, large and serpent like with twelve, angelic wings and the head of a lion. Out of its mouth spews water that looks clean and refreshing. There is an open entrance that Gwen is heading towards.
Surely this isn't a trap, right?

▶ 005. A Message to All.
Inside the ruins, a fragrant smell is sensed; alluring. Another contradiction against the voices in everybody's head. The dew covering the ruins seems sweet, along with any water that may drip on the trespassers' head. Sunlight peers through the cracks of the old ruin, but as Gwen follows her senses, the tunnels grow darker and the spiraling staircase leading down below... it gets narrower. One wrong move could send someone to their death below. Tread carefully.
Down at the bottom of this staircase lies a murky pool, the sunshine casting light down upon the pool. In the center of it, there is an old book which is sealed with a key. The text on the outside of the book is a language unfamiliar to all, even Gwen cannot decipher it. Still, the book seems to be of great significance, and the energy that it exerts is what attracted Gwen down here this whole time.
"This is it. This will explain it all. Be on guard, my friends. This could be dangerous."
As soon as she takes the book from its spot, peeling old vines from it, the ground begins to crumble and shake. It's an earthquake! And amongst the sounds of crashing stone, there is another warning that rings in the ears of the Outsiders: "I told you that you would die!"
Gwen tries her best to open a rift, but it takes a little bit of time. Debris crash down all around the Outsiders, possibly injuring them. In a moment of panic, the only place that Gwen thinks to retreat at pops in her mind. A small rift opens; it might be a tight squeeze.
"Hurry, before it is too late!"
As the Outsiders squeeze into the rift, it spits everyone out in a time period and place that is very familiar: The cafeteria in the LILITH main base, Neo Tokyo. Characters may help others that are injured get to the medbay or rest until further instructions involving the relic are sent out.

▶ 001. Is This The End?
💥 ➊ The End. - Escort
[What the fuck happened to the planet while they were away on the moon?! If he knew it would explode in disaster, he never would've gone to fucking space! Bakugo quickly takes charge of his area, ever the hero no matter what the danger. U.A. has trained its students well in all manners of heroics, including search and rescue, crowd control, safe evacuation, and disaster relief. However, as anyone who's spent a modicum of time around him knows... Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight is not the greatest when it comes to comfortable PR.]
STOP SHOVING, YOU IDIOTS! YOU WANNA GET CRUSHED? [Another explosion-- KABOOM! --stuns the nearby cluster into shocked silence. Bakugo swings one arm to the side, those massive grenade-shaped gauntlets making him easily visible in the light.] You five, to the left! You four, to the right! The three of you-- YOU, FOUR EYES --stay in the center! Listen to me and you'll live! Ignore me and you're fucking dead!
[What a hero.]
💥 ➋ The End. - Question
[Whew. The injury only looks bad; once the blood's cleared up and dirt's wiped away, what he thought was a wrecked leg turns out to be little more than a deep, but non-serious cut. Bakugo takes the roll of bandages and beings looping it around the boy's leg. A smaller child, probably no more than eleven or twelve, who can't seem to decide if he's terrified of Dynamight's costume or completely enthralled with how awesome it is. Doesn't stop the quiet question from drifting past his lips.
Is the world ending?
Such a small voice. Bakugo immediately scoffs at the very notion.]
Like hell it is. As long as I'm here, I'll keep this fucking planet in one piece even if I have to hold it together with my own hands! [And seals the bandage.] Watch me, brat! A hero always wins!
▶ 003. A Garden of Eden.
💥 ➊ Garden. - Onward Bound
[Tch. He had no interest in the marital squabbles of the lion and lady. These two might look like a fancy couple, but they keep arguing despite being in clear agreement with each other. Thank fuck the rift separated them and cut off another round of bickering. Bakugo grumbles something about forcing the stupid thing open again later so the two can go back at each other's throats again. Stalking with the rest of the Outsiders, he keeps as a group, eyes wandering about the rift-based landscape. Some kind of Grecian wasteland. At least the rifts are consistent: always a fucked up mess.]
Oy! Stop lagging! You've seen worse than this, so why the hell are you balking? [Aggressive words as he glares sparks towards one of his fellow teammates. Despite the foreboding feeling weighing at his shoulders, Dynamight shrugs it off without problem, fully intending to see this through to the end. He reaches a hand out, offering his orange-gloved palm to the other.] If you can't walk, I'll pull you until your legs remember how to move.
▶ 004. Ruin of the Exalted.
💥 ➊ Ruin. - Voices
This shit again. [As if the pressure of their unseen oppression wasn't enough, the whispers permeating the air piss him off. How many times are these kaiju going to try and mess with their heads? How often do they think the same group of people is going to fall for the same tired old trick? Bakugo tilts his head to the side, eyes closing within his black mask, an expression of calm annoyance smoothing his face. One moment, he's rubbing the side of his neck, tugging his top's high collar down to reach his skin. The next, his hand's up and--
KA-BOOM!
A massive explosion vents the leaves and sky above them, bursting in defiance in the face of this shitty temple and the kaiju statue eternally barfing water into the pool.]
SHUT THE HELL UP! What kind of idiots do you think we are? We're not turning back, we're not falling for your shitty tricks. We've made our decision and we're here to end this once and for all! Heroes always win! SO GET READY TO DIE!!
[What a combination peptalk and challenge in one go.]
▶ 000. Birthday Boy.
💥 ➊ B-Day
[OOC: Bakugo's birthday is April 20th. Since I don't know what the event will be on that day, where the Outsiders will be or what they'll be doing, I can't exactly make a post or plan regarding what Bakugo's going to be able to do for his birthday. SO-
This is an open post for anyone who wants to do something for his birthday, regardless of what's going on with the plot. For the end game, Bakugo has decided to stay and live in Neo Tokyo with his friends and loved ones. Feel free to come up with any scenario for a birthday idea. Take him out to dinner, cook him a meal, give him a present, hang out with him at the arcade, spar with him, whatever you think you can get away with. Bakugo's notorious for trying to ignore/avoid his birthday.
Feel free to drop something here or PM me if you have an idea or want to plot something.]
[OOC: As always, if none of these prompts suit you, feel free to shoot me a wildcard or PM me if you'd like a unique starter written for your character. I know there aren't many of us left, but I plan to stay here to the very end. Thanks to everyone who's stuck around through the years and put up with me and my explosive bomber boy! I've had a wonderful time with all of you and I value all the memories you've given me and Bakugo. To the end!]
001 Escort
It's clear that LILITH is looking for any Outsider available to help with every task, because they have Taryon - trained in diplomatic conversation - and Bakugo, who is...not.]
Excuse me! You lot! Please, come this way, there's more space!
[It helps that Taryon has a magic-powered, nine-foot-tall automaton standing behind him in the form of Doty to get people to pay attention to him. People will obey a large robot pointing at them and then at a numbered entryway.
After another successful reroute of the crowd, Taryon turns to Bakugo, hands on his hips, and gives him a self-satisfied smile. He is clearly winning at this contest.]
no subject
His attention's snared instantly by a familiar voice and shock of auburn hair.]
You're fucking late, Bookworm! [Right, because it's Taryon's fault he's arriving at this mess when he did, not LILITH's for assigning him to another area or the man having to deal with the crowd itself.
OY! A big ass robot isn't any more attention-grabbing than his explosions, dammit! HAA?! What the hell's with that smug-ass smile on your face, shitty Mustache Mook?!] THIS ISN'T A COMPETITION, YOU DUMBASS!!
[It's totally a competition now.]
no subject
[A large man bumps into Taryon, nearly knocking him off his feet and sending him stumbling several feet away from Doty. The automaton continues to point people in the same direction, adding more to one particular line.]
Wait! Everyone, wait! Slow down!
[Taryon holds up his hands and desperately waves at the incoming crowd.]
no subject
[Don't give him that bullshit wizard crap! You think they don't have Lord of the Rings in his world?! It's old, but still a classic story! Taryon's thumbs up is met with a swift middle finger and a scowl.]
Oy! [Bakugo instantly moves forward, intent on catching or stopping the other man from falling from his perch. He skids when Taryon catches himself instead, and swiftly turns his ire to the man who knocked into him.]
WATCH WHERE YOU'RE WALKING, SHITTY EXTRA!!
[More people, more crowds. Ugh, if he sets an explosion off now, they'll panic. He launches from his perch and lands beside the other man.]
Keep your bolt bucket waving. You get on the opposite side with lights!
no subject
Ah? Ah! Thank you, you saved my life. [He was going to be fine.] Doty won't be able to hear me if we have to send people somewhere else. Though. Do you have some kind of radio...or...
[He hesitantly looks back at his robot.]
He's activated by voice.

birthday birthday birthday
Bakugo! Open up.
( For once he looks a little more fresh-faced, hair up in a half pony and the red coat Bakugo bought him firmly on. It's a good time. He's in a good mood. When his friend opens the door he smiles as bright as he can. )
Hi. I'm early, but I figured early meant you'd be less pressed for time. I made you dumplings. And cake! This one's better.
no subject
Getting a knock on the door the day before... Tch, could mean anything since it's Vash. He pushes his chair from the desk and stands to his feet before padding barefoot across the room. Two clicks and the door slides aside, revealing the blonde in his usual black tank top and casual pants for downtime.
Vash looks... a lot more chipper than he has been. Still needs a damn haircut. The half-pony looks ridiculous when he's so used to his undercut or up-spiked style. And red always looks good on him. As does the smile.]
Hmph. You're lucky I haven't had lunch yet.
[Totally ignoring what these are obviously for!]
no subject
You know what? I am lucky. Lucky to have you as a friend.
( It's like a switch has been flipped. The concept of a birthday for someone he cares about bringing a little of the whimsy back into him. ) Where do you want to eat? Your room? Or we can take these somewhere else? I think the greenhouse is pretty empty.
no subject
Don't come in here and get all fucking sappy.
[Even if he's basically permitting Vash to do that very thing. He'll put up with it if it means Vash is smiling and in a better mood than he's been in several weeks.]
Haa? You could've asked me to meet you there. [Instead of making the trek. But he's getting his shoes on. Greenhouse works for him.]

Raidou will chalk that up to the reason why he's suddenly reluctant to move on. His ability to sense magic and power has always been strong, and this place is overwhelming. One hand on his sword, his eyes dart around as if expecting something to show up. Katsuki's words bring him back down to Earth. Or wherever this is.]
Ah-- Sorry, I--
[He's not even sure how to articulate it.]

A hand drops on his sword and Katsuki notes it instantly, hackles rising slightly as he glances to the side. Sticking close to his friend, the hero cocks a hand backwards, ready to slam an explosion into any approaching threat. He trusts Raidou's senses... even if he just yelled at him to get his damn head out of the clouds.]
Stop apologizing for shit. What do you feel?

It's like the Underworld. Power from the place itself. From everywhere. If something approaches... I might have a hard time pinpointing it.

Still, if he sees Raidou start to act differently or talk differently, damn right he's going to brain him! Nip that shit in the bud before either of them regret it!]
Then rely on your other senses. It's not hard to notice a giant ass monkey crashing through the trees.
[Most of the kaiju they've faced have been fucking huge.]
sorry for slowness, health troubles continue to plague me
health is always more important than RP ~ rest well

Birthday Boy
Today is a big day even if Izuku knows Katsuki isn't the biggest fan of big celebration. He can still find a way to make it special for him.]
Come take a break with me.

--!!] Na-?!
[Cold! He jolts to the side, head tilting and arm jerking up defensively against the cold! Only to see Izuku's smiling face above the bottle of water... and two containers of food balanced on his other hand. Tch, hero playing the waitstaff.
At least it's not some kinda damn cake with candles.]
I'm not getting up to go sit down again! You sit down!

I got you the spicy option.
[Of course. And cake can come later. He hasn't forgotten. It's just not something he was able to figure out while they're working.]
I didn't know we'd be out here this long. So your presents are back at the base. So hopefully a free meal is good for now? Happy birthday, Kacchan.

You don't have to do any of that crap, Deku. [It's less grumpy than it could've been.]

Birthday of the Birthday Boy
Distraction from a man that thinks he's clever.
It took him all night, but into said night he had been cooking by hand- his actual hand, to make a small cake. It's probably best to put it aside and say he'll eat it later, but that and the bag slung over his shoulder are evident Bakugo isn't getting away. It's birthday time.

Returning to the base, he wipes his hand across his cheek, taking sweat from his skin as he rides the elevator and steps off on his floor. Only to pause when he sees a certain red and white head loitering for him outside his door. Katsuki's expression flattens as he approaches. Expected. "It's morning; you're too late for a sleepover."
