[because denji's never seen or had a hero. it's not hard to realize he wouldn't understand the selflessness that should come from a person with a heroic heart. the ideal hero. not all are like that, plenty are selfish, shy, private, localized, rude, corrupt, and all sorts of other characteristics. but those that strive to be the hero they want to be have those ideas in common. saving people, protecting people, winning battles, earning acknowledgement, fulfilling the goals they hold themselves to. perhaps it is illogical for someone to push themselves into breaking point zone for the sake of people they don't even know, but that's what being a hero is. and bakugou would have continued to fight no matter how broken he became, reaffirming that as long as he could draw breath, he would continue to fight. did the city deserve that from him? fuck no! did he expect it from himself? hell yes.

growling at the attention, he sits on the side of a gurney, letting one of the nurses inspect his wound. costume undone to the waist, his gloves still on while his gauntlets and neck brace sit off to the side. the bite isn't risking any bone splinters or torn tendons, but it's going to hurt like a bitch if he keeps straining the injured muscles. while one of the medics sits with his hand on dynamight's knee to channel those healing implants, the nurse cleans out the wound and applies medicine to help the healing along. look, at least this bastard's not kissing him like the the old healing granny back at u.a. fucking gross. (and fuck you if you think he's going to let some stranger sit here and hold his hand like a little kid!)
KA-BOOM!! smoke, noise, light, and the kaiju rearing up behind chainsaw man is sent flopping end over end across the deck, splats against the railing, and rebounds right over the chains. dynamight straightens up amid the smoke, wearing one of those battle-crazed slasher grins as he swipes his tongue across his lips like a psycho.] Piss off and die, ya fucking fish freak!
