in that same vein, maybe that also makes his own wish all the easier to decide on. though, he's not going to jump into admitting that. instead, he seems more focused on wriothesley's wish. it only makes sense since he sparked this line of conversation to begin with? ] What do you consider unrealistic?
[ is he going to wish for world peace or something...
yuwon hopes not. ]

Wishing never to suffer a day in life. Wishing to be liked by everyone. Wishing to grow an extra six inches.
[ He ticks these off his fingers one by one, though pauses on that last one to glance over at Yuwon. ]
Somehow I doubt you need that last one though. [ what is Yuwon so TALL for ]
no subject
I don't need any of them.
[ not just because they were unrealistic, but... just because he couldn't see either of them aligning with his path. ... minus the last one. ] I don't think you do, either. But, since you haven't decided...
You can always choose to be better at acting. [ remembering their
friendshiporigin story. ]no subject
Just kidding, he doesn't actually care. In fact, the jab is enough to make him smile. As terrible as their relationship had been back then, they'd managed to overcome the worst of it. Maybe the real prize (wish come true) was the friends they made along the way. ]
And outshine you? Perish the thought. [ Another joke. ] But if you don't need any of those then what do you need? The ability to properly convey your feelings to others, perhaps?

damn, but yuwon also seems to just look at him. no real thought penetrating past his features, before he simply decides to shrug it off. ]
Isn't that what the book is for? You got one, too. [ i don't actually know the timeline of tanabata and the books being deposited to revelation, but listen... he isn't going down for this alone. not emoting and being cagey probably fell into the same bucket, anyway. ]
If I were going to make a wish, it wouldn't be that deep. Maybe to do nothing for once?
[ to finally be able to relax without the impeding doom of what the future brings. whether that's outer gods, his own regression, or... even this. ]

Wriothesley's usually easygoing features tighten at the mention of their recent library additions, a single blink signifying his displeasure. ]
Ah yes, our personalized collection. [ Personalized, his ass. ] I do wonder if the batch of recruits before us were in need of some assistance but simply received their materials too late. Surely those books couldn't possibly be directed at us.
[ Hello? They're fine? Just because some of them are depressed as hell and others of them can't muster up a genuine emotion to save their life doesn't mean they need therapy books. (It means they need actual therapy, that's what.) But enough about the library, they have more important matters to discuss right now. ]
If you'd like to do nothing though, why not do that now? It's not like we have anywhere we need to be. You could simply sit here and relax if you'd like. Engage in some idle chitchat like you are now.

yuwon nearly forgot about these books, too. nor does he actually have any plans of perusing them. maybe. he might take a peak later in bed while he's bored, but clearly there's nothing in these texts of worth. ... says and believes them both. ] Yeah, they did seem like a mess.
[ no offense to these people. in all realness, yuwon probably didn't converse extensively with a vast majority of them.
even if he does recall the man who used to live next door to him from time to time. once wriothesley moves into their second topic, however, he seems to pause. maybe something a little tense about his posture before he purposely relaxes, as if easing back into the topic. ]
Is that really the same, though? To be honest, I might have just been tired. [ since wriothesley is one of the few people who have seen his life, he supposes he had the most insight to what he means. still, he tries not to attribute too much stock into his own words. ]
Do you have anything you really want to do?
no subject
If you want to run away and hide somewhere, I won't tell anyone. [ Unfortunately they still have their implants, making total freedom an impossibility, but it's the thought that counts. ] Maybe next time we finish a mission, they'll give us more than a half-hearted day at the beach.
[ Wouldn't that be nice. Too bad he's not banking on it. After seven months of being employed by LILITH, he's gotten a pretty good sense of how they work. ]
As for me... [ He trails off, thinking. ] Nothing that's really possible here without years of hard work.
[ To go home and see his friends. To bring down some of the crime numbers in the city. To fix the social support given to the poor and homeless. ]

the half-hearted day at the beach wasn't bad. but, is anything truly relaxing when dangers always lurked around the corner. then again, could life ever truly be predictable enough where he would feel satisfied? even he wonders of that possibility, before shaking it off. ]
Well, it's been about half a year. You could always get to work. [ not that he actually believes whatever wriothesley wants is that simple, but you never know. in the meantime: ] Or, you can write it down.
[ ... and he can watch, thanks. ]
uses this as my catalyst to make the player plot happen icly, thanks
Can he really afford to keep sitting around attending festivals for the rest of his time here? (The answer is no.)
Thanks for the metaphorical kick in the butt, Yuwon. ]
You're right. [ Wow? Wriothesley actually saying out loud that Yuwon is right?? Stop the presses. ] I should get to work. I can't afford to spend all my time sitting here keeping you entertained.
[ Sorry, Yuwon is going to have to find a new clown to watch. But also: ]
Unless you've already found someone else to occupy your time with? [ did he confess yet ]

he isn't unaware of how his words tend to come out. especially, with his tone. he often ended up trivializing most issues, as if comparing each and every problem to a much bigger one, and in turn rendering the original point a non-issue. the surprise is probably clear on yuwon's features, albeit for however fleeting it is. he recovers quickly enough, rubbing the back of his neck absently, as if nursing a tired muscle.
until, he pauses at that last comment. ] Good, you weren't half as entertaining as you thought you were. [ but, he's also not serious. though, realistically, it's true that he did tend to take wriothesley fairly serious despite their occasional quips and disagreements.
that aside— ] Well, if you need a hand, just send me a message. Depending on what it is, maybe it'll be worth pitching in. [ he gives a slight shrug of his shoulders, before: ] ... [ not him ignoring his second question. ]
no subject
Now it's Wriothesley's turn to be suprised, a wide owlish blink of his eyes enough to convey that abrupt emotion. Guess they're 2 for 2 in surprising each other. Maybe that's the real lesson they've learned here instead of whatever wishes they might have had for the future.
Just kidding, I don't know what I'm typing anymore.
The surprise fades, replaced by a confident smile. Yuwon may not have answered his second question but that's okay. He'll find out via a different channel later. ]
I'll hold you to that then. Better not leave me hanging when the time comes.
[ handwaves that they chilled by the bamboo for a little longer so i can clean up my threads...ig yuwon can see wriothesley write down i wish for more tea on his implants at some point. ]

for some reason, he's become oddly accustomed to that self-assured smile, and in a moment like this, it does feel both parts ironic, and maybe a bit comforting. despite the harshness of his words in the past, it's true that it was different to have been as close as possible to his own definition of a "companion." it's a brief thought that he shakes off. ] As long as you don't plan to overwork me. [ instead, he focuses on catching sight of wriothesley's ridiculous wish, and his own,
I want to do nothing. Enjoy the tranquility, get enough sleep. Don't plan a single thing or move around busily.
a genuine wish, but unrealistic wish. ]
