WHO: everyone!
WHAT: the firefighters put out a calendar every year and guess who is getting everyone involved.
WHERE: the venue for the photoshoot, somewhere in the city.
WHEN: within the first week of their arrival.
WARNINGS: nudity or partial nudity? will update warnings as they come.

The firefighters are looking for models to assist in their yearly calendar. Last year due to some mishaps, they missed the due date for this beloved tradition in the city, and so are not looking to really make sure everything is flawless this year. Since is no error for mistakes, they are even recruiting people to model as firefighters, as well as looking for people who can act as temporary photographers— in a city as busy as this one, it isn’t always easy booking a photographer for certain time slots.


1. As a photographer they are tasked to make the calendar spicy, but also unique! They figure one of the best selling points is variety. No more poses, the more avant-garde, the weirder even, the better! Like if your thing is posing with a carton of eggs, you do you!
2. Models are incentivized and even ranked (this is arbitrary, so I leave that all to you), so maybe this can also lift the competitive spirit of some! Or maybe you just really want to make some extra kryptos!
3. Outside of photographers and models, also looking for people who can enhance the overall experience. Do coffee runs for everyone, while also hyping or judging the models! Whatever they say fit! People can even stumble into these roles thinking they were here for a completing different reason! Or go out on an errand to come back and suddenly everyone is not as they once were.
4. Just have fun and free to make up your own scenarios! Even if it's walking in like 🧍‍♂️ I thought this was a pizza party.

everyone is free to put up their top levels and tag around as they see fit. you can see it as you were messaged by someone randomly on the network about an opportunity to make additional kyptos, or they could have even found an ad. whatever works!

[ wriothesley gives his cig a Look and wolfwood's grin just turns more crooked as he blows a thin stream of smoke up above them. he's unapologetic about it; if they really didn't want him to smoke, they should've put some signs up. not that wolfwood would follow those anyway.

more importantly, he can't quite stop the laugh that bubbles up—more abrupt than he'd like. ]

Think ya need to get your eyes checked, buddy. [ the experimentation did give him a sturdier body; good bone structure, even if he looks fit but in a healthy stray dog kind of way. the serum had gotten rid of the more prominent scars he would have sustained over time, though some of the marks still remain. ] But nah, I'm not. Just looks kinda all over the place.

[ case in point, he nods to the next model getting their photos taken, cradling a carton of eggs as they dangle from a firefighter pole. ]

[ Chances of Wriothesley dying of lung cancer before getting eaten by a kaiju: (very) slowly rising. But Wolfwood can keep inhaling those cigarettes of his. They all have their own vices here, even if Wriothesley's hand is being forced into grabbing a cup of lukewarm coffee instead of the tea he loves so dearly.

Also his eyes are fine, thank you very much?? There are plenty (okay, maybe only a few) people that don't fit the traditional mold of burly buff man. Wolfwood could easily slide on in there if he really wanted. Though, given the current balancing act going on in front, maybe it's safer bet not to join in. ]

Glad they didn't make me do that. Would have been a waste of eggs. [ He's a boxer, not a gymnast. ] So what are you here for then? Surely there are better places to mooch food from.

[ How are they supposed to become buddies if he doesn't? It's very generous of him to risk his own health like this in the pursuit of friendship. But also: this friendship isn't gonna last very long if Wolfwood keeps dissing his tea.

Wriothesley looks mildly affronted at the insinuation that cheap tea is enough to satisfy his desires. ]

Maybe not stuff like this [ with a derisive look back at the tea tin ] but high quality teas can fetch quite the high price. I doubt that much has changed even with the change in scenery.

[ Worlds may change but inflation and capitalism will remain the same. ]

[ Please don't crush his dreams like that, good sir. Even if it's a very realistic point he makes, which earns a tired sigh. ]

I'm beginning to think whiskey might be the wiser choice given everything that's happened.

[ Like being KIDNAPPED and having something IMPLANTED INTO HIS HEAD. He's free of headaches now but who knows when the next one will pop up without warning. But since there's no whiskey here, he opts to grab a sad cup of coffee. ]

[ honestly, wolfwood can relate—he would've lost his shit if he couldn't actually buy cigarettes here. everyone's got their vices; sometimes that's all the serotonin you can get when you've been KIDNAPPED and have something IMPLANTED IN YOUR HEAD. wolfwood is two for two now, so it's really par for the course at this point. ]

My neighbor said I'd get paid to stand around without a shirt on. [ thanks yuwon ] Figured I'd come see what all the fuss was about.

[ It does sound pretty good, huh? Admittedly, the 'without a shirt part' might be a roadblock for some people, but he's never been particularly shy about his body. No point when it's been his main tool for survival the past decade or so. (And his brain, but the less people deem him to be any sort of threat, the better.)

He takes another sip of his coffee, then shrugs. ]

[ hard to be shy about your body when it's been poked and prodded at, modified and engineered to be the perfect weapon; hard to be ashamed of it when you don't recognize yourself in the mirror anymore after all of that. it's the same wherever he goes now—putting down his cross should have gotten him the autonomy he craved, but in the end, his body still doesn't belong to himself.

but wriothesley's not wrong. wolfwood's smile turns a touch wry, a little fatigued, watching the next stream of smoke curl lazily up towards the ceiling. ]

I dunno. You look like you've seen some shit. [ he's seen those scars, buddy. ] But yeah, probably. Think they're pretty desperate if they're resorting to taking people from other places.

Wolfwood's remark earns him another faint smile but no verbal response; no point in showing all his cards this early on. Neo-Tokyo isn't the Fortress of years past, filled with as many people willing to harm him as they were to help, but only a fool would blindly trust after being snatched from their beds and experimented on without their consent. ]

Sure looks like it, doesn't it? [ It sounds noble enough on the outside, an organization willing to go to any lengths to save their world, but he's not so sure about that. ] Guess it doesn't matter either way though. It's not like we can just walk away from this all and board an aquabus back home.
