For those Outsiders on the younger side, Raidou has sent out a blanket text message to one and all inviting them to a hanami picnic at a park near the base. Everyone is encouraged to bring whatever snacks and entertainment they like, but it's not a requirement. Yukata are also encouraged but not required. This isn't anything formal, just a chance for everyone to hang out, for the newbie kids to get acquainted with their fellow Outsiders, and to get a little comeuppance on the adults who got to go out on a bar crawl without them all. The only rule is that adults will be turned away from sitting with them! Sorry, folks.

Raidou Kuzunoha is not exactly a person known for his social aptitude or party planning skills, and it's a miracle he's even come up with this idea, so it's definitely a good idea for people to bring want: food, drinks, games. Someone needs to sneak in the sake, because this straight-laced kid will not be. Not to fear if you come empty-handed though, as there are plenty of snack stalls nearby. Most of his efforts have gone into finding and securing the perfect spot for them to hang.

Cooking was a necessity at home. Baking... [He shakes his head. That'd have been more of a hobby, and Raidou Kuzunoha XIV didn't have time for such a thing.]

I'll do it again sometime. I had gotten Bakugo to help me. He's quite good at it.

Yeah, it was the same for me. That's why the chocolates I made you were kind of...

[ Well, wonky is the best word for. Even if he had tried his best to make them look nice. ]

Bakugo did his best with me, too, though I don't think I was a good student.

He did? [Oh. Hmm. He considers that a moment, mind going back to the conversation he and Bakugo had while working in the kitchen. Bakugo has done nice things for others too, not just him. And he's always done nice things for him. Raidou really needs to return the favor, he owes him.]

It just takes practice. Maybe we can try to make something together sometime.

Yeah! I was doing it all wrong, apparently. [ Bakugo saving the day for everyone, it seems… At least Yuji knows he’s paying him back in future.

Tilting his head, he smiles, a little excitement showing through. ]

Yeah? Maybe we can make a nice dinner.

[He loves his idea, giving it an enthusiastic nod.]

That would be great. I could use the practice for the izakaya kitchen... I hope you like ramen enough.

[He'll be starting in the kitchen there a couple of nights a week after graduation, next week. Got to supplement those shrine studies somehow.]

I do! It’s one of the first things I had here when I arrived.

[ Easy enough to get and familiar, so Yuji was happy to try it. He thinks about going and spending a few hours with Raidou, cooking and relaxing, and feels a little giddy. ]

And don’t forget, I still owe you a proper dinner too.

[Yuji will get to be his taste tester, then.] Good. I want to make sure I have things just right for the restaurant.

[Oh, he hasn't forgotten. As Raidou cleans and arranges things on the table, he shoots Yuji a coy look over his shoulder.]

I know. I have a surprise planned for that too. You'll meet me outside the base on Saturday evening then, yes?

[He's been practicing his motorcycle skills off base, doing his best to make sure Yuji doesn't find out. He's wanted to make sure he can actually drive it with confidence before telling too many people he has it yet.]

I bet you have nothing to worry about! If this cake is anything to go by, then you'll be amazing.

[ Ahh, that look... Yuji can feel himself going a touch pink, even as he grins back. A really fancy date, huh? ]

You do? [ He does like a surprise, as long as it's a nice one. ] I'll meet you, definitely! Should I wear anything in particular?

Thank you. Baking is quite different from cooking, so I've learned. I'd like to practice more of that. Ah, if I have the time. [His schedule is always pretty full. As nice as it was to finally try all these hobbies, training and work still always come first. Well, and Yuji time too now.]

Mm. Something nice. Nice-ish.

[As much as he wishes he could afford somewhere super nice... Give him a few weeks after graduation.]

It's really hard, isn't it? I didn't think it would be so difficult, but apparently you need special chocolate!

[ He went through so much effort to make you the kitty chocolates, Raidou...

Nice-ish... Is he going to have to ask Kugisaki for advice again... ]
