🌸 teen hanami mixer 🌸

WHO: The population of Outsiders ages 19 and under (and equivalent)
WHAT: A sakura viewing party!
WHERE: One of the choicest of picnic spots
WHEN: Afternoon of March 17th
WARNINGS: TEEN SHENANIGANS. If necessary this will be updated!

For those Outsiders on the younger side, Raidou has sent out a blanket text message to one and all inviting them to a hanami picnic at a park near the base. Everyone is encouraged to bring whatever snacks and entertainment they like, but it's not a requirement. Yukata are also encouraged but not required. This isn't anything formal, just a chance for everyone to hang out, for the newbie kids to get acquainted with their fellow Outsiders, and to get a little comeuppance on the adults who got to go out on a bar crawl without them all. The only rule is that adults will be turned away from sitting with them! Sorry, folks.

Raidou Kuzunoha is not exactly a person known for his social aptitude or party planning skills, and it's a miracle he's even come up with this idea, so it's definitely a good idea for people to bring want: food, drinks, games. Someone needs to sneak in the sake, because this straight-laced kid will not be. Not to fear if you come empty-handed though, as there are plenty of snack stalls nearby. Most of his efforts have gone into finding and securing the perfect spot for them to hang.

This log is for mingling top level comments for any kind of hanging out and activities. Whether you want your characters affected by the sakura hay fever is up to you. Have fun!

What is that? A game?

[Kaworu is not wearing a Yukata, though if he knew where to get one, perhaps he would. The traditional clothing is curious to him, though he tends to just wear is school uniform.

He kneels down, almost like a child looking at a bug on the ground.]

Yeah, they're for a game called "Duel Monsters" back home. It's super popular, enough so that a lot of people go into playing the game professionally, including myself. So when I woke up here, it was a relief to find that I still have my cards with me.

[He fans a few cards in his hands to allow Kaworu to take a look at some of his Armed Dragons there.]

You might have also seen these briefly during the last incident with the kaiju: I was making projections of these guys to help distract the kaiju so that others could get to safety or hit them with surprise attacks.

Your job is to play card games...?

[His expression is very skeptical. How could you make a living off (children's) card games! If that were the case, all humans would just play games every day and never do anything else!]

Are they powerful or just sentimental?

It depends on the cards a person has... but I suppose I'd say both, in my case.

[His Armed Dragons can be powerful, while the Ojamas........ actually, the less thought he has to give for them, the better.]

Truthfully, there are some Duel Monsters that are actually powerful enough to have an effect on the human world, whether that be merely manifesting as spirits that can observe and interact with people, or those that can cause actual harm if their cards are in the wrong hands. [Or if the Duel Monster itself is a spiteful fucker... looking at you, Yubel] However, most people don't actually have the ability to perceive them, so as far as the world is concerned, they are just cards and anything peculiar that does happen gets chalked up to something else entirely.
