(The fun thing about being taken and thrown into a new place is no one really knows you so when Tsurumaru Kuninaga is missing from dinner, he's sure no one really notices. Eventually someone will learn that whenever he's missing for too long, he's probably up to something if he doesn't actually have something to do.

He returns some time towards the end of dinner, when most people have probably begun to settle a bit for the evening. He stumble-dashes back to the base with an armful of plastic shopping bags and oooh he is definitely up to something…)

& SET UP

In the Everlight wing, they need to do some ☆re-arranging☆. Some desks and chairs need to be borrowed from rooms to drag outside for the food. While they're at it, they might as well grab the blankets and pillows too. They might also have to figure out what appropriate music to play. So maybe someone knocks on your door to commandeer your furniture and time. Or maybe they figure out a way to play music so everyone can hear and you end up drawn out by music.

Maybe you get sent out to buy more snacks and drinks for everyone while you're standing around with nothing to do. Let's go, Everlights. It's time to drag people into early shenanigans.

& FOOD & GAMES

There is plenty of food to be found. Check out the mixed bottles of different flavored sodas and teas, assorted chocolates, and other sweets from the convenience stores. Eventually, a couple of pizzas and a few more substantial things might show up on the table. Some of them are traditional flavors characters will be used to seeing but others may… be more out there. There sure are a lot of more experimental foods combinations in the future, huh? Have you ever tried coffee-flavored water? Yogurt-flavored potato chips? Flaming hot lava chocolate? What about calamari Oreo pizza? Well, now is your chance.

There are also stacks of playing cards and maybe some other silly toys and games from whatever is the equivalent of a dollar/pound store in the future.The 100 Kryptos store? Which version of UNO do you know how to play? Do you know how to play Werewolf or Mafia? There are plenty of bottles to spin. Give someone a call and see if they answer or else you have to eat one of those cursed pizza slices. Of course, when enough people gather around, there are plenty of other ways to make your own fun.

& CHILL

For more introverted characters that might want a quieter place to hang out, some Everlight has probably left their room open. Pillows and blankets have been piled into the room to make it a quieter, more laidback place to hang out. When was the last time you made a pillow fort?

Hello, Tsuru gets bored easily and he wants everyone to have ☆good vibes☆ because bad vibes make him sad so he is steamrolling and dragging people into slumber party shenanigans. It's in the Everlight wing but other characters can hop over if they're curious or dragged in. I asked the mods about the potential consequences of staying the night and they said it would be fine for the slumber party so go wild.

Treat this as an open mingle and feel free to come up with your own ideas and tag around. If anyone really needs me for anything, you can DM me or catch me on plurk (yosakoi ).

[Raidou smiles slightly at that with a nod.]

True... routine is comfortable, but boring. This place, though... Too many surprises at once, maybe.

[A hand goes to his eye where the implant was placed. He's been overwhelmed since he arrived. Everyone else seems more comfortable with things here than he is, though he knows he's not the only one struggling.]

(Oh, he watches the way his hand moves up to his eye and he understands. It's almost like he's become more aware of his own now and he finds himself leaning in close to Raidou so his face is right in front of his, looking up at him with bright, pale gold eyes.

And yet, even though he's right in his personal space and he doesn't have to look very far... it seems like he is. There's a distance in his eye. Like he's studying Raidou from far away instead of right up in front of him.)

Is it hurting?

[Raidou is taken aback by this move, but he doesn't budge. It's not a threatening move, so he remains still. His silver eyes meet Tsurumaru's gold ones with a few surprised blinks, though, his face redding slightly from the sudden intrusion of his bubble by such a look. He has no idea what to make of this.

All Raidou can manage is a slight shake of the head. His already low voice is even quieter.]

Not anymore.

[cranekin]

(He lingers for a moment as if implying with his closeness, "Are you sure?" But he won't press and he leans back, returning some of Raidou's space to him, though, he is closer now than he was before.)

Good. (Just. "Good.") It's been a while, hasn't it? If it's still bothering you, we should make sure everything is fine.

You only have one body, after all.

(So they should take care of it.)

Ah. No, i-it's fine. It's just... I suppose just the idea that it's there.

[He looks at his right wrist as well, where his other implant is.]

There's nothing like this where I'm from. Nothing much like anything here, really.

(He's listening... and he understands. Even if he isn't showing it outwardly, there are plenty of things on his mind, too.)

Where are you from?

(And after a half second, he adds casually,)

And when?

(He glances over to where ever Raidou's katana may be. Or the general direction if it's out of sight. )

The age of the sword has long since passed by now.

[That last but gets a hint of a smile from him. How many times has he heard something similar?]

Japan. The Capital. Taishou 20 - 1922. [The Taishou 20 part has been confusing a lot of people, but saying the Gregorian calendar year really makes it no less clear. They wouldn't match up at all.]

And yes, it is, but not for me. It's needed for my work. I'm a summoner.

(For a spirit sensitive to the flow and order of time, it doesn't go unnoticed. He maintains his calm and smile. If he's surprised... he doesn't look it. He muses,)

Taishou 20... I can't say I remember it.

(Because he knows there isn't a Taishou 20 to remember. Regardless of the exact year, by the time the Taishou era came around, he'd already found himself in the emperor's collection. But perhaps equally interesting is what Raidou follows with,)

You're a sword summoner?

[He shakes his head, hesitating a moment. It was still strange to be able to just tell people about this.]

No. Demon summoner. But it's also my greatest tool in fighting them. I can cast purification spells through it. It's my most important tool.

[Another thought has been bothering him. If he fell in battle, the Kuzunoha clan would revoke his title and take back the Mal Fortuna. So why was it here?]

... I was surprised to see it here.

[cranekin]

Ah.

(Just, "ah" and he looks back at the sword once more.... and he settles himself, hands neatly in front of him, and he looks down. He isn't carrying anything but he can still feel the familiar weight of his own sword as if he had brought it with him.)

If it's precious, you should take care of it. It did, after all, come all this way with you.

More precious than anyone could know. [The fact that the sword is there is the only reason Raidou is still comfortable telling people to call him by his title. A glimmer of hope that back home, maybe he's not out yet. The katana is very powerful, brimming with magic, and is as much as weapon as it is a conduit for spells. Its guard is fashioned after the Kuzunoha clan symbol.]

Having it here is like... An assurance that I can fight here after all. Making it through the simulation training without it was more difficult than I expected.

[Without his sword, his gun, or his demons, he barely made it out. But he did it.]

(Stop, he can relate to that.)

I had to use another sword and it was all wrong!

(Something something the simulation let him choose a default weapon or something IDK. He holds out one arm as if he's trying to demonstrate something,)

A sword is like an extension of the arm. Changing your sword is like changing your arm.

(At least, that's what it feels like to him.)

[That gets a little bit of a smile out of him, and a nod.]

It's true. That one is irreplaceable. A family heirloom. I hope I can continue being worthy of wielding it here.

[That might sound strange to others, but after what Tsurumaru just said, Raidou has a feeling he'll get it.]

(He does and he can't help but think how lucky this sword is. Not every sword gets to stay with one family. He knows.)

(Just by the way he talks about it.)

[Was this sword lucky to have him? He wasn't so sure anymore, but he knows he was lucky to have it. He nods lightly.]

The kaiju we fought in the simulation weren't like demons. I'm not sure how effective it would be against them, but it's still better than nothing. Which is what I had before.

Then again, it was a simulation. The real thing could be different.

As long as something can be cut, a sword will cut.

(So don't worry, Raidou.)

The acid was a problem. It wore down the steel and ate at the blade... but if my sword could last, I'm sure a magic sword like yours will withstand enough.

At least this time, that damage wasn't for real.

[No matter how real that felt, no matter how much Raidou exhausted himself in it anyway.

Tsurumaru gets a curious look with his last remark.]

So you could tell.

You could say I have a certain affinity.

[Not really a surprise that someone else here deals in magic. Still, it's strange talking about this stuff with anyone else. Back home, there is really only one person outside of the Kuzunoha clan that knows anything about Raidou's real work.]

It's a purification blade. Demon exorcism. I guess I'll find out soon enough if these kaiju are anything like demons.

(A purification blade... Really, the more Raidou speaks the more Tsurumaru wonders if maybe (just maybe) Raidou may be of use to him in the future.)

Even if they're different, you shouldn't let it deter you. After all... you've been brought here for a purpose.

(And maybe it's his own nature as a spirit that can be summoned and called upon... but when someone gives him a mission, he fulfills it.)

[He looks away at that. Even if he had been brought here from just a day earlier, he'd be much more confident. Not so much anymore.]

Yes. It's not much different than my purpose back home. I won't let the people here down.

[cranekin]

(Ah, it seems he might have stepped into something that is best left alone. Without much warning, he jumps up onto his feet again, hands on his hips, and looks down at Raidou,)
