(The fun thing about being taken and thrown into a new place is no one really knows you so when Tsurumaru Kuninaga is missing from dinner, he's sure no one really notices. Eventually someone will learn that whenever he's missing for too long, he's probably up to something if he doesn't actually have something to do.

He returns some time towards the end of dinner, when most people have probably begun to settle a bit for the evening. He stumble-dashes back to the base with an armful of plastic shopping bags and oooh he is definitely up to something…)

& SET UP

In the Everlight wing, they need to do some ☆re-arranging☆. Some desks and chairs need to be borrowed from rooms to drag outside for the food. While they're at it, they might as well grab the blankets and pillows too. They might also have to figure out what appropriate music to play. So maybe someone knocks on your door to commandeer your furniture and time. Or maybe they figure out a way to play music so everyone can hear and you end up drawn out by music.

Maybe you get sent out to buy more snacks and drinks for everyone while you're standing around with nothing to do. Let's go, Everlights. It's time to drag people into early shenanigans.

& FOOD & GAMES

There is plenty of food to be found. Check out the mixed bottles of different flavored sodas and teas, assorted chocolates, and other sweets from the convenience stores. Eventually, a couple of pizzas and a few more substantial things might show up on the table. Some of them are traditional flavors characters will be used to seeing but others may… be more out there. There sure are a lot of more experimental foods combinations in the future, huh? Have you ever tried coffee-flavored water? Yogurt-flavored potato chips? Flaming hot lava chocolate? What about calamari Oreo pizza? Well, now is your chance.

There are also stacks of playing cards and maybe some other silly toys and games from whatever is the equivalent of a dollar/pound store in the future.The 100 Kryptos store? Which version of UNO do you know how to play? Do you know how to play Werewolf or Mafia? There are plenty of bottles to spin. Give someone a call and see if they answer or else you have to eat one of those cursed pizza slices. Of course, when enough people gather around, there are plenty of other ways to make your own fun.

& CHILL

For more introverted characters that might want a quieter place to hang out, some Everlight has probably left their room open. Pillows and blankets have been piled into the room to make it a quieter, more laidback place to hang out. When was the last time you made a pillow fort?

Hello, Tsuru gets bored easily and he wants everyone to have ☆good vibes☆ because bad vibes make him sad so he is steamrolling and dragging people into slumber party shenanigans. It's in the Everlight wing but other characters can hop over if they're curious or dragged in. I asked the mods about the potential consequences of staying the night and they said it would be fine for the slumber party so go wild.

[ Yuji is terribly lacking on consciousness of his own bad luck, and he leans down to frown at the pile before he reaches out and puts a card down. It's nothing special, just a number card of the same colour, and he sighs softly. ]

You're gonna have to have a matching card now! If not, then I'm definitely going to get this one back!

[There's a split second where he contemplates giving Yuji a W for the hell of it, but that's kind of condescending, isn't it? Also why is he taking a game of Uno so seriously.

He drops his last card on top of Yuji's.]

[ Oh... Yuji stares at the cards mournfully before he sighs and tilts his head back. Maybe this just isn't his game! There's got to be other things he might be good at, right? There are definitely other games around here he could try his hand at...

Still, he looks over and offers a grin, shaking his head. ]

It's okay. I just got unlucky every time.

[ Story of his life! ]

[He did not actually think that far ahead and ends up kind of...flopping onto his side and stretching to scrounge through the available games that way, because what is getting up to poke around like an actual human being.

He pulls a box out with one hand and holds it up for Yuji to see.]

[ That might be a game he could be good at, if he's careful of his natural strength. It takes a little bit more of a dextrous touch than a strong one, and he thinks he can manage it. Maybe, right? It can't be harder than trying to learn all the rules of Uno and then win at it.

Leaning forward, he turns the box over to get the pieces out, beginning to set it up. ]

Some of the games here are pretty weird. I'm glad I know this one.

[Ren leans forward to help him out, smoothing the wooden pieces into something properly tower-shaped. He has dexterity going for him, but also a reckless streak, so...]

What else have you run into? I keep getting roped into different card games.

[Most of which he has turned out to be uncannily good at, even if it takes him a few rounds to shape up with ones he hasn't played before.]

[ Who wants to go around kissing strangers? It's not really his kind of thing - when he was at school he did sport stuff and joined the occult club, not... Going out with girls, or whatever.

Girls never really liked him anyway. ]

[He smiles a little when Yuji calls it weird. Ren has never played himself, but that response is kind of...pure?]

[It's a little strange to do something as mundane as play cards or Jenga when they literally have cybernetic implants.]

Exactly. I'm used to fighting, so that's normal, but the rest of it is just weird.

[ Yuji isn't stupid enough to be oblivious to how hi-tech this place is, but he's not really worked it all out yet. That, plus all the strangers and the new games? He's a little in over his head.

Leaning forward, he stares at the jenga pieces intently before he pokes one near the bottom out, carefully placing it on top. ]

[That gets a curious look from Ren, though it's a little hard to tell between the glasses and messy hair.]

Did you fight anything like kaiju where you're from?

[He follows suit with his own block, nudging it out of another row near the bottom, though he has enough sense to set it as a counterbalance to Yuji's.]

Not really as big as kaiji normally.

[ He leans forward, planning out his next move before he takes a mid-tier piece. ]

I fight curses, so they're usually pretty small. Some can get big, but not that big.

[Unless they're like shadows, maybe?

He moves a piece from a couple rows beneath Yuji's.]

But I'm starting to think the lack of familiarity is normal.

[ He takes a moment to decide on his next move, talking quietly. ]

Curses are like... What happens when people feel negative emotions. They're made and then we have to go and deal with them.

[It's hard not to think of corrupted shadows when Yuji mentions negative emotions and he leans forward to rest his chin in one hand, attentive and patiently waiting for Yuji to take his turn.]

I think I get the idea. Where I'm from, negative emotions can create...a distortion.

It's not widely known, though.

Curses aren't well known, either. Most people don't know anything about them at all.

[ He finally takes his turn, moving a middle piece and popping it on the top. ]

Only people who fight the curses, sorcerers like me, worry about them.

[Something, between the quiet way Yuji speaks and his word choice, makes Ren pause before he moves his own piece.]

They must be pretty dangerous, then.

[Haphazard assumption, maybe, but worry stands out to him.]

[He takes his block from the very bottom and nudges it into place on top.]

[ He's always been strong; he's only got stronger from fighting the curses he's faced. ]

My school, yeah. Sorcerers are an organisation that work together to fight curses, and we train at the school before we can fight properly as adults.

[ Oh, a daring move!! Yuji tries to reach for another bottom one and carefully places it on top. ]

[Their tower is getting a little precarious now; Ren finally moves a block from the top half and gingerly sets it down.

But damn... A school and organization sounds so much more coordinated than Ren's experience with fighting anything.]

You're from Japan?

[Most of the people he's met have been from Japan, which makes sense since they are, currently, in Japan.]

[ Yuji focuses, trying to pick a good block; he decides to go mid-level and gently places it at the top of the tower. ]

That's right. I'm at the Tokyo school.

[ Leaning back, he breathes a sigh of relief when it doesn't collapse. ]

[Oh shit, the future.

Ren is paying less attention than he should when he takes another block from just below center and the tower wobbles. He eyes it warily, before he finally sets the block on top.]

Any tips you think someone from New Year's in 2017 ought to know?

[ Yuji rubs at his face absently, looking at the pieces before he sighs. It's all a little tangled in his head and he feels guilty still, but - ]

You should probably avoid Shibuya at Halloween if you don't want to die.

[And just like that Yuji has all of Ren's attention, though his expression stays almost eerily blank.]

What happens in Shibuya on Halloween?

[It's out of his mouth before it occurs to him that he doesn't have a way to pass on this information (irrelevant) or that they might not even be from the same Tokyo (semi-relevant).]

[ Yuji shakes his head, teeth gritted. ]

Curses attack. One of them... Sukuna. He kills thousands of people in one second. You should definitely be as far away as possible.

[Ok. What the fuck. Ren keeps staring at Yuji for a split second, compartmentalizing.]

Quick question: Have you ever heard of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts?

[Most of the people who visited Mishima's website were students. Yuji would probably recognize the name if curses and shadows coexist.]
