( OPEN ) we are here and going to make it everyone's problem

(The fun thing about being taken and thrown into a new place is no one really knows you so when Tsurumaru Kuninaga is missing from dinner, he's sure no one really notices. Eventually someone will learn that whenever he's missing for too long, he's probably up to something if he doesn't actually have something to do.

He returns some time towards the end of dinner, when most people have probably begun to settle a bit for the evening. He stumble-dashes back to the base with an armful of plastic shopping bags and oooh he is definitely up to something…)

& SET UP

In the Everlight wing, they need to do some ☆re-arranging☆. Some desks and chairs need to be borrowed from rooms to drag outside for the food. While they're at it, they might as well grab the blankets and pillows too. They might also have to figure out what appropriate music to play. So maybe someone knocks on your door to commandeer your furniture and time. Or maybe they figure out a way to play music so everyone can hear and you end up drawn out by music.

Maybe you get sent out to buy more snacks and drinks for everyone while you're standing around with nothing to do. Let's go, Everlights. It's time to drag people into early shenanigans.

& FOOD & GAMES

There is plenty of food to be found. Check out the mixed bottles of different flavored sodas and teas, assorted chocolates, and other sweets from the convenience stores. Eventually, a couple of pizzas and a few more substantial things might show up on the table. Some of them are traditional flavors characters will be used to seeing but others may… be more out there. There sure are a lot of more experimental foods combinations in the future, huh? Have you ever tried coffee-flavored water? Yogurt-flavored potato chips? Flaming hot lava chocolate? What about calamari Oreo pizza? Well, now is your chance.

There are also stacks of playing cards and maybe some other silly toys and games from whatever is the equivalent of a dollar/pound store in the future.The 100 Kryptos store? Which version of UNO do you know how to play? Do you know how to play Werewolf or Mafia? There are plenty of bottles to spin. Give someone a call and see if they answer or else you have to eat one of those cursed pizza slices. Of course, when enough people gather around, there are plenty of other ways to make your own fun.

& CHILL

For more introverted characters that might want a quieter place to hang out, some Everlight has probably left their room open. Pillows and blankets have been piled into the room to make it a quieter, more laidback place to hang out. When was the last time you made a pillow fort?

Hello, Tsuru gets bored easily and he wants everyone to have ☆good vibes☆ because bad vibes make him sad so he is steamrolling and dragging people into slumber party shenanigans. It's in the Everlight wing but other characters can hop over if they're curious or dragged in. I asked the mods about the potential consequences of staying the night and they said it would be fine for the slumber party so go wild.

[Someone managed to get him out of his room. Who? Hell knows. But he's here, got himself something to eat, and ended up sitting at one of the tables with a card game. It's not hard to figure out how to play Uno; Bakugo picks it up easily and readily after just one speed read through the instructions and watching a single round. No one's playing for prizes though, it's all just fun and games, but the thing is... THERE ARE NO FUN AND GAMES; IT'S CUTTHROAT COMPETITION! AND HE'S HERE TO WIN!!]

Dammit! They're gonna keep killing you if you can't control your stupid face!

[How Uno ended up a "team" game is anyone's guess, but Bakugo's paired up with this pink-haired guy who's as expressive as Deku, if not worse! Gathering up the cards to deal, he cuts the deck, shuffles without even looking, and repeats it again, still giving Yuji the death eye.]

I'm dealing to you and don't change your expression no matter what card you get!

[Gonna be some blitz poker face training over here. You'll thank him later when they win!]

[ Yuji hasn't played the card game before, and he's entirely of the attitude of just enjoying himself and getting to know people. His idea of a poker face is just staring, bemused at his cards, and apparently that isn't working because the new guy is getting as angry as Kugisaki can get on a bad day, but a little more hardcore. With a new hand passed to him, he picks it up and nods his head. ]

Okay! No expression!

[ He's trying, really, he is, but he picks up a card and sees it's a plus four, and his mouth twitches just a little bit and he has to physically school himself. It looks like a monumental piece of acting work for something as simple as not smiling. ]

Right. I'm ready!

[Enjoy yourself all you want, but not when it's to the detriment of their two-man cell losing! Bakugo wouldn't have mentioned Yuji's lack of poker face if that beaming smile didn't shift depending on the cards. He didn't call him out immediately, took a few rounds to watch and judge, but it wasn't long before he caught onto the truth. Aka: lacking poker face. He wants to win, so if that means some impromptu training, done!]

Tch.

[Those red eyes stay branded to the corner of their sockets, watching Yuji's expression. Which, given attention drawn, also means their opponents are also watching the sorcerer. A twitch at the corner of his mouth, then a deliberate flexing of the jaw to reel it in. Fuck, he knew the adage of 13 to smile 47 to frown, but guy's making it seem like a visible reality...

But it's an effort.

Yellow 7 starts off. 7-card hand starting. Serious UNO competition here.]

[ The problem is that Yuji has never really needed a poker face before, and he's always remained painfully expressive. Even when he fights, the shift of his mood is obvious, and that might give away what he's thinking more than it should, but he's still alive to see the future through. The knowledge of that stings, but, well. He's managing, which is the most he can hope for himself right now. ]

Huh...

[ Yuji frowns as he looks at his cards, tilting his head a little and glancing at Bakugo. After a moment, he leans forward...

And puts down a yellow three. That's fine, right? ]

Okay!

[Bakugo doesn't know whether or not a poker face is going to be necessary when you're sicced on a bunch of kaiju-like monsters. But there's nothing stopping him from growling about Yuji's lack of one while they're playing a card game. The more-than-brushing similarity to Midoriya is annoying, but also... similarity. He can't shake the feeling even though he tries. It makes the instinctive reactions come easier.

He feels Yuji glancing at him and keeps his eyes on his own cards. However, he does tilt his hand slightly, letting Yuji see his cards. They are on a team after all. He has three yellows, a green number, a red draw two, a red number, and a wild.

Yellow 5.]

Pay attention to the girl on the right; she can't bluff for shit.

[Whispered as an aside. Team tactics.]

[ Yuji remains only a little bit oblivious to Bakugo's growing rage - he is genuinely trying, but he's just never been particularly good at hiding what he's feeling. Be it anger, or hurt, or happiness, it colours his face so completely, and his mind is often far too focussed on either fighting or trying to stay alive to try and bury it away. If he can't do it in a fight for his life, a card game seems like far less of a concern.

Looking down at his own cards, he nods at Bakugo. He's been dealt a similar enough hand - a few more yellows, a red reverse card, a blue plus two and a handful of green numbers. It's average enough that he's not stressing too much about trying to win tactically.

Instead, he does what he's told, glancing over when he's whispered to, hesitating. Yeah, that girl must be as bad as his. ]

Does that mean it'll be easier to win? I don't know how we can predict her cards...

[Then again, when you're fighting for your life, all focus goes to that. Bakugo's had plenty of time to train his emotions and show what he wants to show during a fight, though usually that's flying from aggressive rage to serious determination. He'll show surprise, but is hard pressed to admit to fear or sorrow even in the heat of battle. Contrary, when there's no life on the line, he thinks it should be easier to focus on your emotions to keep them from showing. His irritation at Yuji for the previous slip ups is lessening a bit, mostly because Yuji's actively trying and he can appreciate that.

Tactics in Uno are slight, but can still be useful. Team Uno isn't something he's done before, but it's simple enough. Just have to look at it like two hands are one and thus your options are to stop up their side and help your own.]

She doesn't have yellows; she's drawing. [And right before she does slap it down, Bakugo notes her expression being one of relief rather than revenge. Sure enough, a yellow number.] If she'd drawn a reverse, her face would've given it away.

[Her turn passes and her partner's turn is up, meaning she couldn't slam down a Draw card or else it'd be screwing him up. Similar to how if Yuji plays his Draw Two, it'll mess Bakugo up. But if he plays the reverse and swings it around, Bakugo can land the Wild next time and change it to Blue, where Yuji can then hit their opponent with his Blue Draw Two.

Sorry, Yuji. You're dealing with a nerd who won't admit he's a perfectionist competitive nerd.]

[ Yuji doesn't quite have the mindset to take this game as seriously as he takes a fight, because it's just fun for him. It's a little bit of fun to take his mind off all the things going on back at home, and the promises of what they're going to have to do here - fighting, protecting people, putting themselves at risk. It's not necessarily something he ought to be doing, but he's caught up in the sheer enjoyment of being around people he cares about and making new friends.

It's a far cry from the dangers and horrors of his own home right now, so he'll take any reprieve he can get, even if his mind is still running around in circles.

Watching their opponent, Yuji nods his head a little. In a fight, he can be tactical and smart about it, he understands that, but he's still new to Uno and trying to play while also learning the rules... It's not exactly the easiest thing in the world for him, but he's getting there. ]

Oh, I get it. [ She would've been just like him, probably grinning or something, right? Maybe he does have to be better at schooling himself. Maybe.

He leans forward, watching the game unfold with determination in his eyes now. ]

[Bakugo's in no better mood about their straights here. Being captured by strangers and told to fight in a war that's not their own, with little information on what's going on back home that no longer has them in it? While flat out rebelling against their captors is already proven to be a shit gamble, they're also not being treated completely horribly, and his nature as a hero won't let him sit idly by while people suffer and die. Doesn't entirely excuse playing UNO with a bunch of extras, but whatever. He can always fuck off to his room once he's reached his "people" tolerance.

It's certainly not the same as the bodies and struggles of mid-war conflict he's left behind. Especially after what just happened to him. Something his mind is still wrapping around as he settles into this new chapter of life.

Bakugo figures Yuji's at least got two or three rounds ahead of him, but if he needs a reminder of the rules, well... they're right there on the fucking cards! Okay, not ALL the cards, but still, it's kind of obvious. He's not willing to lose though. Even if it means pulling this guy with him.

Back and forth, a few team plays, and Bakugo's wearing a big smug smirk by the time he and Yuji are down to four cards between them, their opponents having more than double.]

Keep your draw four as your last card if you can.

[ What happened to the poker face? Yuji lookat Bakugo's smug little grin and wonders if he should be trying to show the same, or something opposite, to try and trick their opponents into thinking they've got a chance. He's still getting to grips with the whole "playing" aspect of this, even if he knows what the cards mean, and people keep complaining about the rules.

Are they different, depending on where you've played before? Isn't the whole point of a game that the rules don't change? Or is this the kind of thing where families make up their own rules and other people hate it? This is definitely the sort of game that would annoy Fushiguro; Gojo-sensei would love it because he would always win.

Nodding his head, he looks down at his remaining cards. They shouldn't be too tricky to play, as long as they can keep up this same sort of easy dropping of colours and numbers that they've had so far.

Looking back over, he hesitates. ]

Are you gonna be able to get down to one as well?

[Poker face until you know you're going to win, then gloat or intimidate the opponent into their crushing defeat with victorious glee! You give the opponent what you want them to see, whether that's nothing or everything. Yuji's kept his own face well for this round, so that's kudos to him for helping get this far. Bakugo's certain they have this in the next two rounds.

As far as Bakugo's aware, the rules of Uno don't change. And if they do, he's never played any version asides from the classic one. It's not like a pair of dice or the French-suited / hanafuda playing card deck, where a bunch of games can be played with them. But now's not the time to be focusing on other games; it's time to focus on winning this one!

With Yuji's Draw 4 Wild as a clincher, they just have to make it two rounds, this approaching one and the next to win.]

As long as the color doesn't change.

[He only has a colored number and a normal Wild. Good, because neither a Reverse, Draw 2, or Skip would help since he'd be playing those at Yuji.]

Do you think it will?

[ He's trying really hard to keep his poker face together so he doesn't disappoint or upset Bakugo, and it shows in the way that he is so totally determined - and that's the only thing that shows on his face. It's hard for anyone else to tell if he's so focused because he's desperate to win or because he's close to losing...

Maybe it'll work in his favour.

Nodding his head, he breathes out, glancing between the other players. ]

We've totally got this. Don't worry about it.

Probably. She sucks, but her partner's got something. [Yuji's a quick learner. He only had to grouch at him the first big time and then one or two random glares for the guy to get that poker face together. Even though Bakugo can tell it's a stupidly big effort for him. Tch, the natural sunshine type, huh? Always smiling and laughing... But Yuji's determined, likely due to a teamwork sense, and that's a positive. Bakugo can work with that.] I'm not worried, Gari Head.

[Sure enough, the color does change, the other team desperate to win. Bakugo's forced to play his wild to change the color to Yuji's remaining non-wild card. Shit.]

Gari Head...

[ Yuji frowns, staring at his cards, a little lost. He's doing his best, though, he's decided that, and he shakes at the change in colour. Oh, damn... Breathing out, he has to play his card and glance at Bakugo. ]

We'll be fine.

Tch, no shit. He just grit his teeth. [Bakugo narrows his eyes at the other guy across from them. There's a moment of hesitation before the guy has to start drawing cards. Finally, three cards in, he pulls and plays a number of the same color. Heh. And that's game. The girl's expression wavers into disappointment before she plays the same color and Bakugo slaps down his card with a grin.]

HAH! WE WIN, LOSERS!! [Hand clenched in a victorious grip, he grins a maniac elation across the table and fires off his last comment to Yuji.] Hit 'em where it hurts, Gari Head!

[In other words, nuke them with your Draw 4 and watch them crumble in complete defeat!]

Yeah!

[ Grinning, Yuji leans forward, putting down his plus four card. It's good, to come out of this with a victory when he had been so confused and baffled at the beginning - he turns to Bakugo and offers his hand out for a high five. ]

Good job!

[At least Yuji isn't gunning for his opponents to get completely demolished over a card game. They still don't look pleased at getting a +4 slapped in their faces on the last turn, much to Bakugo's amusement.

Looks like Yuji managed to pull his weight despite being a noob at it.

The offered hand, however, gets a brief pause, then a scowl on purpose (attitude) before Bakugo opts to "punch" his hand instead of the high five. ~~It's more badass, piss off.~~] Tch, of course we won. It's what I do.

[ Yuji glances at his hand and shrugs it off. This guy is just a little weird, but kind of reminds him of Kugisaki when she's really, really pissed off - or Panda, when he's using his other abilities. Maybe things will be a little calmer when they're doing something that doesn't have a winner or a loser.

[Bakugo watches their opponents slink off in loss and leans back in his seat, pleased with his victory. He gathers up the cards around the table to start shuffling the deck. If no one else comes around, he'll slot them away in their box again and leave it for the next group.

Yuji's friendly nature reminds him of two specific people in his class. One's more annoying than the other...]

It was a team battle. I'm not gonna let you flounder on me.
