Girls' Night [OPEN]
WHO: All the lady Outsiders!
WHAT: Girly bonding
WHERE: The Onsen
WHEN: 4/8
WARNINGS: Alcohol, nudity, will add if anything else comes up!
[ With hopefully enough time for the tired Outsiders to have some recovery time, both mental and physical, Miss March 7th sends out a blanket text inviting any and every lady to some time spent together in the hot springs!
She also ominously adds that if any guys try to show up and sneak a peek, she will utterly crush them. ♥
If you take her up on the invitation, welcome! There's the springs where you can bare it all and... well, bare it all, because girl talk is pretty much expected to happen. There's also sake for those of you who do not wish to be sober tonight. Whatever happens in the hot springs stays in the hot springs.
If you're tired of soaking, March has a growing collection of nail polish bottles in different colors that she will happily volunteer to apply for you.
Otherwise, wash each other's backs! Pet some cats! Talk about how unfairly smooth someone's skin is! Gossip about love lives! All of those stereotypical things that happen when a bunch of pretty girls get naked at the springs together!
OOC: General mingle for all the ladies! Feel free to chuck your own toplevels, join multi-person threads, and let loose! ]

I see... So that's your type.
[ takes down notes in her mind. ]
So this means you can procreate with humans?
no subject
If you mean "bear children," the answer is no.
[ Even the words regarding procreating sound a little foreign on her tongue. Are you ready for this insane githyanki lore?? ]
Githyanki are hatched from eggs — only our reigning Queen can decide who will bear them and when. It's an asexual process, far superior to the procreation of humans. Being unable to enjoy the carnal pleasures of sex without the constant threat of bearing children is a terrible fate for your kind indeed.

but oooh, more gith lore. she's actually mentally taking notes like the model student that she is, but she can't help but squint a little at lae'zel's wording at the end there. she knows humans are pretty lame but wtf......... ]
I mean. Certain people would be into that specific threat, just saying. [ pregnancy kink... ] But I get what you're coming from. I wouldn't want to bear children either.

...Disturbing.
[ not the kinkshaming 😭 ]
Is it common in your realm to feel the way that you do? I've found humans to be highly variable in their feelings towards having a "family."
[ invisible air quotes. ]

that question makes her blink, though. ]
Where I'm from, marriage and the like is already risky. For me, I have no plans on getting hitched, much less creating a family. [ a shrug. ] I wouldn't like to bring a child into a world where it's easy for them to get snuffed out early on.

[ HOW are you supposed to go about killing and maiming kaichus if you have to spare time worrying about a kid. hell no ]
We githyanki are not raised by families the way humans are — we are hatched in groups, and raised communally. Not by spouses tethered by marriage. The whole takes care of the few. That humans survive to adulthood while having much fewer to watch over them in youth was nothing short of a miracle to me, at first.

[ no need to suffer on your own when your family is struggling. other people can pitch in and help raise each other up. it sounds nice, at least on paper. ]
Children are usually raised through their parents' love for them -- though sometimes certain kids aren't so lucky. [ it's a sad reality for some families. ] I know I wouldn't want a child of my own, but certain people in a couple do wish to raise one of their own and nurture them however they like. To some, it's the ultimate result of a couple's love. Not that I would really know.

[ For perhaps the first time since they've met, she hesitates, gold eyes darting to the side briefly before she flicks them back, re-steeling herself. ]
I never thought about what gith I came from, nor what it would be like to have "parents." I never had a desire to know — but I did wonder about it for the first time recently.
[ Gith are a collective people — they're not like humans who have these deep familial bonds right when they're born. Every day as a gith is a test of survival; you could be culled the second you prove too weak. The concept of unconditional, protective, parental love is foreign to her — in experience, but not in concept, now. You can't miss what you never knew... but seeing the anguish of one of her companions' parents keyed her in to the fact that something major was absent from her experience. ]
"Not that you would really know" — did you not know your parents?
