[OPEN] Lost in paradise

WHO: March 7th and anyone who wants to witness this
WHAT: Post-upgrade Problems...
WHERE: Around the base, around Japan
WHEN: April 12th and up to a week after that
WARNINGS: None so far!

A. Post-Surgery

[ Choices were made. March may or may not regret them a little, but upon remembering things like how badly injured so many of the Outsiders had been and Ishmael gritting her teeth while struggling to walk, she'd ultimately decided it was worth it.

Maybe not right now, though, not when she's kind of staggering around the base, looking very much Still In Pain and sheet-white. Of course, that's one thing. The other thing is that she looks completely disoriented and depending on where you find her, it's pretty obvious that it's not where she was trying to go. Maybe it's a non-Redemption wing. Maybe it's the cafeteria.

Maybe it's the rec room?? Maybe she's actually heading outside when she clearly shouldn't be??

If you're still not entirely sure what she's up to, she can be heard quietly muttering to herself in a shaky voice, definitely rattled-- ]

W-why is it so hard to find my room??

B. Compass Required

[ It's a day or so later! And she is.

... Not doing any better. Though at the very least, she's had some time to get the style upgrade implemented and is comfortably clothed in her much more familiar (to her) outfit from home.

But she hasn't actually been seen on the base all day, which probably isn't terribly strange, since March likes to go out and experience life, but at this point it's dark and if you're out at night, you might spot her. Talking to a few people who seem either amused or flummoxed by her current level of vexation. ]

No, sorry, I've definitely been to Shinjuku, and I know where it is on a map, I just--

I'm not drunk! Look, just tell me "this way" or "that way" and I'll figure it out from there!!

[ ... She has apparently been dealing with something similar for hours, given that she really does sound like she's on the verge of frustrated tears. ]

C. Bah Hummingbird

[ At this point, March has given up leaving the base on her own, so you can spot her in the greenhouse (though it's arguable whether she meant to be there or not), a cute little hummingbird perched on her shoulder. She's taking pictures of the plants, though she pauses to glance up when she realizes she's got company, offering a smile that is definitely a lot steadier than the mess she's been over the past few days. ]

These little guys are pretty cute, aren't they? I'm more of a dog person, but I gotta admit, they've got a lot of appeal!

[ OOC: Also fine with doing custom starters if nothing catches your interest! ]

So you're basically saying don't expect much, huh. I guess it was a good idea for me and Kaito to take matters into our own hands before now, then.

[ Because the onsen had probably been more fun. She hadn't thought to bring balloons along, but the atmosphere had definitely been... lively.

But maybe she'll be surprised?

Or maybe Wriothesley will be absolutely right and it will just be a little deflated party and congratulatory pizza. ]

[ —Ah. His brow furrows a little as he glances down at her. ]

[ And she lifts an eyebrow in return, not exactly sure why Wriothesley's got that look on his face. ]

But you look like you're thinking maybe it wasn't?

[ He suffered (?) so much because of that night, of course he thinks it wasn't a great idea. He will meet her gaze very briefly before turning back to face ahead of them. ]

It sounded like an eventful night, from what I heard.

Okay, enough with the vaguely polite but ultimately useless answers.

[ March huffs a little. ]

I'm not exactly sure what you heard, but it was pretty normal stuff? You know, skincare talk, romance talk, I painted Ishmael's nails, we got some of the quieter girls to socialize a little....

[ ... Well. ]

... I guess some of them did drink more than they probably should have...

[ Was Sooyoung drunk when she sent him that excerpt? No, she probably would have sent it to him even while sober just to needle him. Ugh. ]

Does romance talk usually involve ranking men based on their looks?

[ He does not hang out with enough women for this to know (or honestly to care to know). ]

That was an entirely different topic Malkuth brought up. And it was based on personalities, too!

[ ... Rather, why does he know about that? ]

So that part was just for fun.

[ He can't tell if that's better or worse. ]

[ She is So Confused right now. ]

There's a short pause and then she kind of leans against him slightly, a nudge of. Solidarity? Reassurance? Apology that he Suffered somehow?

Mysterious. Anyway! ]

Well, if it's not pizza again, maybe ice cream?

[ And this is why he likes March better than Malkuth. The little nudge makes him smile, a little bit of that tension draining away. Although: ]

Just ice cream? [ Although, hold on— ] That's not a bad idea though. All the people who have never had ice cream before can finally try it.

Exactly! I personally think it's a super important experience everyone should get to try at least once in their lives!

[ They're gonna be so thwarted when they realize it's ramen. ]

[ Their disappointment will be palpable. ]

Oh? The novelty of trying ice cream, along with the importance of a good ballroom dip. [ He will literally never let her live that one down. ] What other super important experiences should everyone try at least once in their lives?

[ Oh, boy. Wriothesley might be giving her grief and she likely realizes this, but March "ahem"s importantly anyway. ]

Being the subject of a photograph, discussing romance, keeping a diary, looking at the stars, seeing the ocean, figuring out their personal style and expressing their opinions!

[ Also maybe "remembering their past", but that's not an everyone problem, so she isn't saying it. ]

[ Okay, he can get behind some of these, but: ]

[ He is looking at her with such Doubt right now. ]

It promotes bonding and support. [ Promptly. ]

[ Just gonna repeat after her. ]

Look, you don't have to sound so skeptical!

A lot of romantic feelings and thoughts might be hard to work through on your own, so talking them over with someone else helps clear your mind! And then you're stronger than ever! And you know for sure you've got someone who's got your back, even if it's just to hear you out!

[ He has not once talked about his feelings with another person, he does not understand this concept. (jk)(but also not jk) ]

I suppose it depends on the person you're talking to. [ Still can't relate. ] And that was the kind of discussion you were having with everyone else?
