Good morning! Did you know it's a special someone's birthday today? Actually, we have several birthdays to celebrate, so join us today at the LILICO Game Center! There will be cake! Lots and *lots* of cake. Hope to see you there!

[ Marcille blinks over the menu. There are a ton of choices, so it's hard to pin the suggestions down. ]

What's in those?

They're all made with rum, which is a sweet liquor to begin with. A mojito is rum mixed with carbonated water, lime juice, and sugar. And a mint sprig for garnish and extra taste. A piña colada is rum, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. And a horchata is rum, rice milk, and cinnamon.

[ Essentially, desserts but with a splash of liquor. ]

[ Marcille, pleasantly surprised, watches Luc list things off like it's nothing. ]

You memorized all of that?

I work at a bar. Picked up a few things.

[ After all, how else is she going to know to make these things on her own? ]

Once you know the signature ingredients, it's usually easy to remember the rest or different but similar recipes. Like how a "White Russian" is similar to those three. It involves cream and alcohol, but replace the rum with vodka and coffee liqueur.

Oh, you work at a bar. That makes sense.

[ Marcille has never heard of Russia, so she just looks confused. ]

Interesting name for an alcoholic coffee drink... [ White Rush-in. ] What are the signature ingredients?

[ She can't help it, she smirks. A little bit. Just the tiniest bit. She can't blame Marcille for not knowing what the name means, but she does wonder what she's imagining. Cute. ]

Like I said, cream, coffee liqueur, and vodka. Vodka is a type of alcohol that's very strong and made from potatoes. It's the most popular alcohol in Russia, a country to the northwest of here.

Oh, that's what you mean! [ RUSSIA! ]

So it's a "White Russian" because it has cream and vodka... I do like cream. Is there another sweet drink that has that?

[saudadist]

[ Think think think think, there was another one, wasn't there? A dessert drink with vodka... ]

Mudslide. It has coffee liqueur, lots of cream, vodka, and Irish cream liqueur in it. With chocolate garnish. Basically a milkshake with alcohol.

[ Marcille's eyes are glittering now. She's not a huge coffee drinker, but the rest of it... ]

That sounds delicious! [ She brings her menu back to her chest. She's found her drink. ] Y-You can't really taste the alcohol in it, right? If it has a lot of cream?

There's always going to be an alcohol aftertaste, I think. But with so many other flavors, it'll be easy to ignore it.

[ And even then, the alcohol can be lessened with proper ratios. ]

[ Marcille considers it for a second, her eyes searching over the menu once more. Then she looks back up at Luc and nods determinedly. ]

I'd feel bad wasting it if I didn't like it... but I'll try it anyway. [ She smiles a little. ] You should do that on your birthday, right?

[saudadist]

I think so. If not then, then when?

[ She glances upward briefly as she repeats her words in her head, hoping they make sense on review. ]

Could always try the "virgin" version without the alcohol too if the aftertaste bothers you.

[ She presses her hand to her mouth. Her cheeks are a little pink. ]

That's what they call it here when a drink is nonalcoholic? "Virgin"?

Yeah. Not sure why they came up with that, but it's the common lingo.

[ She gives a little snort behind her hand and looks at Lucy with a smile. Hehe. ]
