[ She's so used to taking orders and heading off to fill them that sitting down right away leaves her feeling awkward. Like she's not at work anymore and instead is just sitting down to chat with, well, a friend. That's what Denji is, isn't he? Though she's not sure she'd be blushing still about that "Master" business if that were the case. Friends just laugh that kind of thing off and forget about it. It's hard to do that with Denji, especially when he brings it up again. ]

You were the first person I tried it on. [ She sighs through her nose, but she doesn't cross her arms like she's oh so tempted to. Is he going to tease her like Bakugou would? Just the thought makes her pout, as if she wouldn't do the same thing to the explosively tempered hothead. ] Did it embarrass you?

No way. It made me feel good!

[ even if it was part of her job to accommodate the guests in such a manner. while he might be her first customer to try it on, denji doubts he'd be the last— some other guy will walk in during her shift and would appreciate it, too. no, he's certain other men will take it as a pretty girl stroking their ego, and uh ... denji isn't sure if she should do it again now ...

the smile twists into a thoughtful scowl. how can he explain himself without coming off as a total freak? he regards her again while tilting his head to the side. ]

Don't take this the wrong way, but you might wanna avoid calling other dudes 'master'. It's a little ... [ he makes a vague gesture with his hand. ] ... let's say they will take it in a certain way that could cause you trouble.

[ What a puzzling thing to say. She already has to deal with drunken fools on the regular, so surely her throwing "master" into it for a day won't make things too much different, right? The regulars might even get a good laugh out of it. ]

I can handle anyone who gets out of line.

[ Although...she can't help it, the side of her mouth tilts upward into a smirk. ]

You almost sound like you're jealous.

[ hmm. well — that got denji thinking and it's written all over his face. there's mild shock, he then leaned back on his chair, closing his eyes and humming to himself in deep contemplation. jealouse? jealousy ... ah, the last time he remembers feeling this way was when he watched some impostor steal all his glory on live tv. he recalls that experience in vivid detail.

was that jealousy or anger, though? it was most likely a mix of both. this situation with lucy is more timid, but- it's still a familiar feeling. just a tad. a hint. it's there, though. ]

It's not about whether you can kick their ass or not, it's the satisfaction of letting them hear it. [ a pause, he glanced away for a second then back at the girl before him. ] So, I guess I am jealous ...

[ It's...strange. He's jealous? Because of something she might say to someone else? She's never experienced that from this seat. It's bizarre and difficult to process. Her kneejerk reaction, worryingly, is to laugh. Not at him, but at the situation. A nervous laugh that sees her blushing hard in spite of herself.

He's so easy to talk to. Unexpectedly so. ]

I guess I'll think about stopping. Maybe.

[ do not feed his ego, you. his tiny, frail ego but still a guy's ego. one fitted for the same mentality denji was warning her about; the hypocrite. the half-devil is not any better, while he does genuinely care for her and wouldn't take advantage of lucy in any way— it didn't mean he's not, well, sexualizing that word the same way other men would. ahem.

he glanced down at the menu, smiling a bit. ]

What would you like to eat?

[ She doesn't have to look at the menu to know exactly what she would order. She sneaks out leftovers all the time, so she's had at least one of everything at least once. ]

The karaage is my favorite. And the skewers. [ Or...skewered karaage. ] Doesn't matter what's on them, they're all good.
