When he's certain they're alone in a hallway not too far from the rest of the group, he allows himself to turn, accepting Aventurine's presence with a warm embrace. His expression, though... It's hard to fully let go, even in front of his lover, so his head is tilted away, and there's a shy, bashful look on his face, brows furrowed in concentration, cheeks tinged red and lips still pulled down in an adorable pout as he continues to wrestle with the waning control over his facial expression. ]
Don't be silly. I've smiled plenty of times here.
[ But never in the way his face threatens to break into at any moment. ]

Sure, around me. But around everyone else? Normally you'd hide it behind that handsome bust of yours, but seeing as that's suspiciously missing--
( He doesn't particularly mind. He likes seeing Ratio's face -- it's easier to read the other man, though Ratio has never been in the habit of hiding his thoughts and opinions from Aventurine. It's one of the things he'd come to quickly like about the other man, and part of why he does love him. And isn't that something -- being in love with someone after so long of knowing he can only rely on himself.
Aeons, he doesn't even need the boost in happiness to feel the warmth in his chest around Ratio. )

Aventurine's unguarded smile is what finally does him in. Though it has become more frequent, it is still rare for the gambler to drop his defenses—and for him to be honest. And for the Sigonian to feel such unbridled joy? Even if the emotion isn't truly theirs, Ratio finds his heart skipping anyway. This expression, so open, and so free—he wants to see it on his face always.
He feels his lips start to shift up and leans in to disguise his defeat with a kiss, pulling the man closer and cupping his face with a hand. This kiss is short, done with the intent to cut off Aventurine's words. When he pulls back, the smile is evident, wide and full of affection. ]
Stop talking about pointless matters.
[ He leans in for another kiss. This time, it is soft, slow, and intimate. He wants to drink in every last bit of Aventurine's happiness, and let the giddy feeling in his chest spill into Aventurine. This time, it's Ratio who feels greedy for more. ]

Because if he's going to lose Veritas Ratio (and he will, he always does, it's only a matter of time--) he better not have any regrets when it happens. )
Doctor's orders?
( He teases when they part for air. Though he doesn't give Ratio much time to respond, preferring instead to kiss him again, holding himself fast to the other man in his happiness. His hand goes to cup Ratio's cheek, tilting his head just right to deepen the kiss. Still slow, still aching, but no less full of desire and want.
Aventurine could do this forever, or as long as Ratio would let him. )

It's still hard to believe he gets to have Aventurine like this. Gets to be affectionate with him, express his love, and call him his partner. He can feel his heart pounding, blood rushing through his veins, and a faint tremor running through his body from the overwhelming emotion, the giddiness that is both his and not. He presses against Aventurine, wanting more and more, oxygen be damned, and keeps kissing the other man like he's the only way Ratio can attain salvation. In this giddy state, that may as well be true. ]

No, his heart and his brain are far too content with the fact that he is kissing Veritas Ratio, that he can slip his hands into his hair or wrap an arm around his shoulder to pull him closer even as Aventurine has to bend backwards with the force of Ratio's want. But it only makes him that much eager, that much happier, when he lets Ratio swallow his sounds of want. They aren't being subtle, here, but that's okay -- Aventurine isn't a subtle man. If Veritas wanted that, he'd have fallen in love with someone else.
So he kisses him back with just as much want, as much desire, and as much happiness and joy at being allowed this: to be in love without restraint. Without worry.
He does, however, have to breathe, and when he pulls away it's not very far at all, face flushed and breath coming in heavy pants. )

As greedy as he's feeling for more of Aventurine, he would never cross any boundary the smaller man has set, because more than anything else, he wants Aventurine to feel safe and loved with him. That Ratio will never betray his trust, because that is true. He will not, not even if the IPC threatened him for all he had.
Oh. He should probably unpack that thought when he's not drunk on emotions.
Reluctantly, he allows Aventurine to pull away, even though he gasps for air like he's forgotten he needed any in the first place. But it's worth it, to have a better look at his gambler. Cheeks flushed a beautiful rosy pink, hair mussed up from Ratio's fingers threading through it, kiss-bitten lips, swollen and shiny with saliva, but most captivating is the look in his eyes. Eyes that normally lacked luster shine brightly with joy and life, and Ratio can't help but stare, falling in love with Aventurine all over again and failing to respond to the man calling out to him. ]
