That being the case, Ryoji could still go on and on about the topic at hand — even if the validity of his own advice remains to be seen, considering how rarely he goes on second dates...

Always bring a small gift the first time. I find flowers are the perfect choice, unless your date has a pollen allergy. Find something they'd enjoy doing beforehand, and be mindful of their preferences. Mind the way you smell, too — you don't want to show up smelling the way their relatives or enemies do. A neutral, inoffensive scent is best! Ask more questions than you answer, and try to be captivating — but not too much, in case you scare them off. And never let rejection get you down! It's bound to happen, more often than you might hope for, but...that just means that there's someone even better waiting for you just around the corner.
