Though the remark has Wriothesley lifting his eyebrows a bit, because he hadn't expected Yuwon to dredge all that up. Hadn't that been weeks ago? Why bother holding onto it now? ]

[ He will be neither confirming nor denying. And while Yuwon's own reply has done very little to actually clear up the question, Wriothesley decides there's no point trying to needle a straight answer out of him further. ]

I do. Why the sudden interest though? Interested in making a move on her yourself? [ And right after he said he'd take Rodya out on a date too......is this what they call doubletiming? ]

[ if there's one thing yuwon was good at, it was recalling details. especially those that remain firmly in the past. while it's worked wonders on his cause, he sees he's only created that much more conflict in bringing these details to light. ]

Is it surprising that I just saw you two together and wanted to ask? Despite what you believe, it's not like I don't have eyes. [ except, he knows exactly what this is really about. it's probably a testament to his clear lack of care when it came to interpersonal relationships. that said, it's hard not to put a bit of lingering curiosity in those you've been in working distance of for months. ]

Don't say things you don't mean. [ he doesn't question wriothesley's attitude if just because he's likely as accustomed to it as the manner in which he tries to slip out of answering questions. just like this. despite that, he does shake his head. ]

What is it about Rodya that makes you so interested in her?

[ admitting he's uncomfortable was hardly an option at this point. also if it truly came down to it, this was never the sort of game he partook in, and yet here he was. but, at wriothesley's question, he does seem mildly thrown off. his eyes widen slightly, before it eventually settles into his usual expression.

initially, he'd argue his interest may have mostly been mission-related. especially, when he first got here. it was hard to assess people beyond what he was accustomed to. hence, he saw her in terms of skills, abilities, etc. but, in spite of that: ] If I had to say... the way she's both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. How she carries herself. [ it's a bit vague, but he felt there were parts of her that were both vulnerable, and yet at the same time... colder and more reserved. it was both something he could relate to, and find himself impressed by. in the world of the tower where everyone seemed to approach him with ulterior motives...

though, this is also yuwon and despite him not saying it, he does think her beauty was also unique to her. the image of her donning her e.g.o in front of him for the first time may be something he will always remember. but, before he can let his response sink in for too long, he interjects with: ]

Those sure are some vague as fuck words but he thinks he can understand the underlying sentiment. The appeal of having something that's familiar to fall back on while still having something new and mysterious to be drawn in by. Or maybe he's completely off the mark and the reasoning is something else entirely. Yuwon's always been difficult for him to read.

Wriothesley leans back in his seat, glancing up briefly at the sky. ]

but, i can't because i need revenge. while there's no sense of abashment, it's clear that he's unaccustomed to speaking about such matters. it's probably why his silence lingers momentarily, before he eventually says: ]

also, feel free to go into the confession. is this how he gets back at wriothesley, or is he also satisfying his own curiosity here? ] Oh, right. You can tell me all about the wedding, too. [ since they're on the topic anyway. he's definitely not serious. ]

[ There's a part of him that's well-aware that this is all just a ploy for revenge, but he can't help but smirk at Yuwon all the same. ]

Oh? I didn't take you for such a romantic. Should I let Rodya know?

[ Hype her up a little so she can fall further? Just kidding, he would never do that to Rodya. He would, however, do that to Yuwon and let him take the fall. Sorry king. Maybe work a little faster and he won't consider this. ]

As for your question, I'm afraid there's not an interesting story behind it. I took her out, spent time with her, gave her gifts. The usual process. You could say I'm old-fashioned at heart.

only he is just a mere centimeter from actually gripping it. he decisively opts to Let This Go. clearly, neither of them was much of exploring the subject matter any more deeply, and maybe beyond that... yuwon secretly takes this as a win. (it's not). ] But, sure, next time.
